Welcome to Dressed for My Day. I love my jeans! And I wear them frequently. In fact, in this recent post I shared a Winter Denim Lookbook of all my current favorites. But like most of you I like opting for something other than jeans occasionally, too. In fact, since we’re staying in more these days, I find myself wanting to wear other options quite frequently. So today I’m sharing what to wear instead of jeans this winter.
A few of the options I’m sharing in today’s video you’ve seen before here on the blog. But I have some surprises up my sleeve, too! So be sure to watch the video for the nine things you can wear this winter instead of just jeans, jeans, jeans.

Blessed for My Day
In the final lines of Mary’s Magnificat, her prayer of praise and adoration, she acknowledged that the baby she was carrying was the promised the Messiah, the Christ. She said that God was mercifully sending the help He had promised Israel, just as He had told the prophets and patriarchs He would do. While Mary’s prayer was undoubtedly inspired by the Holy Spirit, she was also certainly drawing upon knowledge that she had tucked away in her mind previously. Mary must have been a serious young woman who knew something of the Scriptures and the prophecies they held.
As we approach a new year this is a good time to consider diving deeper into God’s Word for ourselves. Let’s be like Mary. Let’s study and show ourselves approved unto God, workmen who do not need to be ashamed, but who know and cling to the Scriptures. Let’s ask God to show us more of Himself as we read and study and meditate on His Word. And let’s be faithful to spend time each day reading His revelation of Himself and His plans for us.
“He has given help to His servant Israel,
In remembrance of His mercy,
Just as He spoke to our fathers,
To Abraham and his descendants forever.” ~ Luke 1:54-55
Love the ponte cream pants, what size do you wear in these, I am between xsmall and small, which size should I go with?
Love your style!!
Hmm. I’m wearing my true size and they’re just a bit roomy so maybe size down?
Thank you Kay for giving us different outfits to wear during the holiday season besides jeans.
Even though this year has been a challenge and we sometimes do not dress up as much, we can
still dress for our spouse or ourselves to make us feel better. I dress for my day even if I am going to
the grocery store and it makes me feel better. I still dress up for church and Bible sturdy with the other ladies.
There are days my husband comes home from work and tells me how pretty I look. Makes my day!
God bless. Sherry
Yes, I love that. Getting dressed truly can bless those around us, even if it’s “just” our husband. 😉
I bought the Wit and Wisdom joggers a couple of weeks ago and they are great! So soft! Thanks for recommending them to us!
Wonderful to hear. Thanks so much for letting me know. 😊
Kay, thank you for introducing us to the fleece-lined pants last year. After seeing you wear them through the winter, when Talbots brought them back in black and gray this winter I purchased some. And I love them! I’m a bit cold natured so I enjoy running errands in them and even wearing them around the house on a cold day. I introduced a friend to them and she had me take her to the store to purchase a pair. And I’ve given them as a gift to another friend. She loves them too. We have a whole fleece lined pants fan club! One note you might add–they run large. I and my friends all sized down for the best fit.
Thanks so much for sharing, Lael. I’m so glad you and your friends love the pants. I do, too. Yes, I guess the pants are a bit roomy. I have my usual size but I tend to like pants roomy. Bad habit from when I was growing up and my mom always had me get the next size up! Ha!
I ordered the fleece lined pants and absolutely love them… so I may have to get another pair. I also ordered the sweater dress in the fig color (on a very deep discount) and have fallen in love with it. I plan on wearing with black tights and boots (if we ever go anywhere). I also own a pair of faux leather and faux suede leggings that I wear with a long tunic and boots. Wasn’t sure I would like them, but to my surprise, I really do. I ordered a pair of cords from Loft during their Black Friday sale and they haven’t arrived yet. Not really a fan of cords, but we shall see… they were such a great price. This was a great video.
Wonderful! It sounds like you’re already enjoying several of these. Great to hear!
