I’ll be the first to admit that I really thought the camouflage trend would be short-lived. Well, boy howdy was I wrong! So yes, Betty Sue, you can still pull out your favorite camo and wear it with confidence this summer. That’s why I’m styling these darling camo crop pants today.

Now it turns out that the pants I’m sharing are not even labeled “camo.” They’re technically a tiger stripe print, but they definitely have that camo vibe. So we’re proceeding with the camo theme. Ha!

I was drawn to these pants because I bought some similar crop pants from Sanctuary last season in solid black, and I was hoping these would fit and feel as nice. Indeed, they do. So these Sanctuary Squad Crops are pricey, but I was able to get them on sale. Don’t worry, though. I’ve got a shopping widget full of great camo alternatives from the stores you love.

For more tips on styling similar pants, check out my recent post How to Style Floral Pants…so You Look Chic, Not Childish. All of those style tips apply to these camo print pants, too!

I’m wearing a true-to-size 8 or 29 in the Sanctuary Squad Crops. They’re made of a 97% Cotton, 3% Spandex blend, so they have a nice amount of stretch, but wear like a lightweight cotton pant.

Navy Tee

I decided to play up the blue-ish stripes in my pants by topping them with a washed navy scoop neck t-shirt from Everlane. My tee is almost sold out, but it is available in other colors, too. You really can top your camo shorts, skirt or pants with most any solid colored tee for an understated chic look. But don’t hesitate to wear a graphic tee with them either.

Camo Pants

I was so pleased that I had this pretty Indigo Blues Beaded Statement Necklace in my jewelry collection for the summer. Once again, it pulls the blue streaks in the pants to the forefront, while giving a nod to the green as well. The necklace is 30% off with code SUN. Unfortunately, the coordinating bracelet is no longer available.

I frequently am asked about these silver earrings. I wear them so very frequently. These French wire geo twirl earrings are from Brighton and they’re still available. They make such a nice everyday accessory. I like that they are lightweight and go with everything.

silver sandals

I finished the look off with my silver CeCe braided flip flops. What would I do without my metallic sandals??? These CeCe braided flip flops also come in gold and they run true to size.

Camo Pants for Summer

While I had the t-shirt tucked gently in the front for most of this photo shoot, I did want you to see that you can definitely wear it untucked, too. In fact, now that I’m looking at these photos, I think I prefer it untucked. These Sanctuary Squad Crops ride a little low on the waist (not very low, but definitely below the belly button), so I think the loose tee works well here.

I’ve included a lot of other great camo options in the shopping widget below. In fact, I recently ordered these camo cotton twill shorts . And I absolutely love these camo cargo shorts from Chico’s. But there are also great selections from Old Navy, Nordstrom, Banana Republic and Evereve in the shopping widget.

Blessed for My Day

You will never waste a minute seeking true wisdom. Praying for and digging diligently for godly, biblical wisdom is not a fool’s errand, but a rich pursuit. When the voices of this world are clamoring for our attention and offering opinions and conventional wisdom, it takes diligence and prudence to quiet them long enough to focus on hearing the still small voice of Wisdom.

Make sure that you take time today to ask God for wisdom. He longs to give it to us, but only if we ask and seek and truly long for it. Grey hair does not assure us of wisdom. Laps around the block do not yield wisdom automatically either. The Bible tells us that the only way to grow in wisdom is to ask God for it, to seek it with passionate priority and to treasure it. Finally, God also assures us in His Word that He rewards wisdom to those who obey it. Are you seeking wisdom today?

I, wisdom, dwell with prudence,
And I find knowledge and discretion.
“The fear of the Lord is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverted mouth, I hate.
“Counsel is mine and sound wisdom;
I am understanding, power is mine.
“By me kings reign,
And rulers decree justice.
“By me princes rule, and nobles,
All who judge rightly.
“I love those who love me;
And those who diligently seek me will find me.
“Riches and honor are with me,
Enduring wealth and righteousness.
 “My fruit is better than gold, even pure gold,
And my yield better than choicest silver. ~ Proverbs 8:12-19

  1. I was wondering if camo was still popular and this post answers that question. I just bought me a pair of Wit & Wisdom camo pants and you have now given me ideas on how to style them. Now I just need the courage to wear them out of the house. They are definitely outside of my comfort zone.

    1. Oh, definitely go for it. Keep your top simple. You can wear most any color solid top, a graphic tee or a chambray shirt. Good for you!

  2. Good morning, Kay! I agree, camo is certainly not dead! I just received the Chico camo shorts (curbside pickup!) and love them! The fabric is great and I liked that I can get a different look by rolling up the leg further. I love wearing my camo bottoms with pink or coral on top!! As for your photos, I liked the tee with a front tuck better. UGH, they canceled my 6-month check-up at the dentist for June 2nd. So, I need to reschedule that soon!! Have a blessed day! ~~Sue

    1. Thanks so much for sharing, Sue, especially about the Chico’s shorts. Good to hear that they are as good in person as they appear in the photos. 👍

  3. I love wearing my camo pants year round! There are so many colors, like soft peach, bright pink, black, etc., that you can wear with camo. I recently purchased a pair of SO camo joggers from Kohl’s that are the most light weight, cool, and comfortable pants. I need to checkout the camo shorts from Chico, and I used your widget to purchase the camo pants from Old Navy. Yes, we do need to not let the necessary checkups fall by the wayside, including a colonoscopy. My recent labs showed that my B12 level is low, so I’m on a daily pill for 3 months to see if that helps. Based on what I dealt with many years ago, I’ll end up needing B12 injections, and I hate needles. But, I’ll cross that bridge in September. Have a beautiful day!

    1. Oh my. Well at least the test caught it. It’s amazing how much a few little tweaks on vitamins can help our overall health.

  4. Kay,
    You have no idea how happy it makes me to see your beautiful smile and read your encouraging words each day. Thank you so much for not only inspiring me to be the best on the outside I can be but to also look inside myself and bring out the best in me. Thank you!!!! R

    1. Ahh, that’s so encouraging to me, Rhonda. Thanks so much for letting me know. I really appreciate you gals so much. 🥰

  5. Thanks for the great post, Kay! I’m not too sure about camo prints for myself. I do like the way you styled yours.
    Thanks for the reminder about wisdom. True wisdom is found in the Lord and studying His Word.
    Bless you and your family today and everyday,
    Suzanne
