Happy Friday! I think the final work day of the week calls for a little whimsy and signature summer style. So I’m sharing a true summer-all-the-way look to wrap up the week. I hope you enjoy looking through the photos and gather some style inspiration from this fun seersucker summer outfit.
You may have seen this colorful graphic tee in a couple of my YouTube videos. In fact, I wore it and modeled it in this week’s episode. Well, guess what? It’s 40% off and last I checked it was fully stocked in all sizes. This 100% cotton tee runs a little big, so I’m wearing a small. Of course, because it is cotton, I won’t put it in the dryer.
While I’ve worn my seersucker crop pants with brighter tops, I really prefer them with less saturated ones. When paired with my floral garden sleeveless shirt (as in this video) or this white sunshine on my mind graphic tee, they create such a cool, airy summer vibe. I love that! Especially as the heat index keeps inching up!
Now Talbots doesn’t actually identify these perfect crop pants as seersucker. But they definitely “read” like seersucker crops. The pants are 98% Cotton, 2% Spandex and hit right at the true waist. They feature a thin light blue and white stripe with just a little of the puckering indicative of true seersucker. These blue and white perfect crop pants run true to size and I find them to fit nicely with that little bit of stretch. You can also get them in a curvy fit. (I’m wearing the regular misses fit in my usual size 8.)
In case of cold (what?!?!), a denim jacket is the natural topper for this simple summer pairing. Right now my Levi’s denim jacket (that I’ve worn for over 25 years now!) is available for “buy one/get one half off” at Kohl’s. You could get two in different washes (including my Sweet Janes and a great light black) or you could get one as a gift for someone else. Sweet! I wear a medium.
My jewelry is oh so simple in this look…just as it should be when it’s in the 90s outside! I’m wearing white beaded ball earrings from Talbots’ collection last summer. These colorful thread wrapped and beaded earrings would make a sweet alternative. The only other jewelry I added was my Parker Link Collar Necklace by Gorjana. It’s also available in 18-karat gold plate. I love having this simple necklace to add to summer outfits.
I mentioned in yesterday’s Chic Summer Date Night Look post that Chico’s had sent me a few gifts recently. This Jute Beach Bag Tote was the final of the three perks they sent my way. And I’m so pleased to tell you that this roomy, high quality bag is now half price. It features a little gold threading, a playful, removable tassel and a large circular flat bottom. No need to save this Jute Beach Bag Tote for the beach; it will be perfect for a run to our weekly farmer’s market or community pool, too.
I added a singular splash of color to my simple seersucker summer outfit with my geranium pink Napa leather sandals. These comfortable sandals run true to size and are available in several other versatile colors. They’re also 40% off.
Light in color, light in weight and light and airy in texture, this simple seersucker summer outfit is perfect for meeting a friend for an iced coffee, getting ice cream with your husband or just puttering around the house. Who says you can’t look and feel your best even when you’re at home???

Are you as guilty as I am of praying too small? Sometimes…no, often…I approach God the same way I would the airport ticket counter if I were to request an upgrade I haven’t earned. And that’s not to suggest that I’ve somehow earned the right to be bolder with my prayers. But I certainly don’t have to pray as though I have no expectation of God hearing me, acknowledging my request or, heaven forbid, fulfilling my desire.
I’m a daughter of the King. And not only have I received a place in His court by the blood of Jesus Christ, but I’ve been invited to approach His throne simply because He is a good and loving Sovereign. More importantly, perhaps, I should pray big, approach boldly, ask confidently and hope wildly because He is indeed able to do far more abundantly beyond all that I ask or think.
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. ~ Ephesians 3:20-21
Love your summer style today! Question: I’m thinking about a color analysis and wondering if you have any tips, etc for this…? How do I find out what colors REALLY look best on me now? Thanks for any tips!
Hi Merri Lynn. I don’t really know where to point you for a color analysis, if that’s what you’re asking. But I’m sure there are people who do that. It may be that even your hairdresser, a cosmetics salesperson or a Nordstrom stylist would have the experience and know how. But what I can offer you, so that you at least know what you’re looking for and why, are a couple of previous posts that are full of real information. You may have read them but I think they are worthy of a reread if you have. I just reread them myself!

Cute look today! I have seersucker crop pants. They keep me cool on these really hot, humid days. You look cool in your outfit. I especially like the top. I might have to have it.
Thank you for reminding us about our approach to God. He is able! I’m sure the Lord wants us to ask big!
God bless you today and everyday, Kay.
Suzanne
I’m glad you enjoyed the post. Thanks so much for your kind words, Suzanne. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. 😊
You look great in these pictures Kay! I like the way you have your hair fixed. This outfit definitely says summer. Our heat index is expected to be in the triple digits today and tomorrow, so we are very thankful that our central air is working. Enjoy your day!
Yes, it is oh so hot here, too. Ugh! But after a long cold winter I can’t complain too much. 😉
Geranium pink has to be the best color to come out this year. I love it. You look summery and fresh in this outfit and I love the way the jacket just tops it off. I love the sandals but can’t afford them. Maybe I’ll just spray paint a pair. 😳I’m kidding.
We needed a carpet once and I prayed for one. A friend gave us a beautiful carpet but it was green. When I told my pastor he said, “Well, did you ask God for the color you wanted.” LOL No, I forgot.
Lol! That’s funny. I’ve been praying for a specific item lately too. I guess I should be specific!
