Happy Friday! I was really hoping for some fall temperatures this week, but it’s been humid, stuffy and just short of hot. Ugh. So I’ve definitely been pressed to create transitional style outfits this week. At any rate, these are my daily outfits for the past five days.

Sizing Information
Just for reference, I’m 5’8″ and weigh about 155. I generally wear a size 8 or medium in dresses, tops, jackets and pants (or 29 or 30 in jeans), so that’s what I’m wearing in these looks unless I tell you otherwise. That way you can assume everything I show you is true to size unless I alert you to sizing up or down. I wear a size 9.5 shoe and, again, I’ll just let you know if I sized up or down in a shoe, otherwise it’s true to size.
Saturday we shot videos, so I never really got dressed for my day, other than the outfits I wore for the videos. So we’ll start with Sunday.
What I Wore Sunday Morning
Sunday morning we had church and then we went out to eat with a young friend. Yes, I ate barbecue in this outfit. Ha! I love this combination of ivory and soft camel. My silk blouse is from last year and no longer available, but I rounded up a few comparable ones. I like this silk shirt and it’s about half the price of mine (at it’s original price).
The concept is really just creating a look from soft neutrals, something I rarely do, but love on other people. So I really want to try to create similar looks more often. I love the combination of these fawn colored Hampshire ankle pants and a soft white blouse. The pants also come in a curvy fit, which is probably what I’m wearing. But they’re no longer available in this color.
I finished the look off with my Ally bossy beige pumps (use code KAYHEELS for $40 off your first pair of heels or KAYFLATS for 10% off your first pair of flats at Ally). I carried my ivory colored Coach bag (similar) and wore dainty jewelry to complete the soft look.

What I Wore Sunday Evening
Sunday evening we went to dinner with a large group of friends. We ate outside under a tent, but it was fairly warm still, too. I wore my black jeans, this black button front cashmere cardigan and my gunmetal loafers, which are no longer available unfornately.
I like how the gunmetal loafers maintain the dark hue of the otherwise black outfit, but add a little interest and light, too. I’m going to link to a few other similar loafers since mine are no longer available. I think these are turning out to be super versatile. And I imagine I’ll wear them even more when sweater weather is really here.
How I Dressed for Monday
Monday I just worked from home. I had a lot of things to put away from our Saturday video shoot still. Plus we’re heading out of town today for a family wedding this weekend, so Monday began a week of trying to work ahead a little. I wore comfortable jeans and a cotton sweater.
This cotton sweater comes in two other colors and is marked down 30% off right now. It runs true to size. And oh my! I just noticed that these Frame Le Sylvie crop jeans are now 60% off! At least for this transitional time between seasons, they are clearly my favorite jeans. I love the feel of them, the fit, the trim straight leg, the raw edge and the length.
I finished this look off with my sand colored flat mules. My mules are no longer available at Talbots, but I’ve included two very similar pair for better prices from Nordstrom in the shopping widget below.
My necklace is one I customized in Kendra Scott’s color bar (you can, too!) and my earrings are also Kendra Scott, but only available at Nordstrom.
How I Dressed for Tuesday
Tuesday I mostly worked from home, but I did get out to run a couple of errands. It was probably a little warm for a cashmere sweater, but I just couldn’t resist this lilac colored polo cashmere sweater. You may have seen me wear it in this week’s video, too. Actually this cashmere sweater is a little lighter than others I own, but it’s not thin. I think it’s a great quality and I’m really excited about using it to add more color to my outfits.
I wore the cashmere sweater with my straight leg jeans from Talbots, which I’ve cut off for a better length. Oh, and I finished off this simple outfit with my gold loafers. Aren’t they fun??? Actually, it looks like my loafers are sold out, but these still have these similar loafers.
My necklace is the Venice necklace by Gorjana. Mine is 18k gold, but they do have a similar necklace in their new fine jewelry collection that is 14k gold.
What I Wore Wednesday
Wednesday was sort of a rainy day. I mostly worked at home, but we did go to lunch with a friend. I wore my most comfortable jeans and my favorite Sadie + Jane t-shirt. Because it was messy outside I opted for my white leather sneakers (similar).
If I had needed a jacket (or even been able to tolerate one!) I would have worn my sand colored cotton twill field jacket. One of these days! I also wore my scripture bracelet from Sadie + Jane. So fun! Use code KAYHARMS for 10% off your order at Sadie + Jane. They’re a great source for graphic tees, jewelry and other gifts with a scripture theme. The Sadie + Jane items are not in the shopping widget below, but you can shop them through the highlighted text.
What I Wore Thursday
Thursday I worked from home getting ready for our trip today. We also cleaned the house. But I did get out to have lunch with my friends. I was so hot and so tired of being hot. So I wore my blue houndstooth Parklet shirt dress. I probably looked a little over dressed; we’re a casual group! But I felt comfortable and presentable.
The quandary was the shoes. I’ve put most of my sandals away. And my pedicure is not in good shape anyhow. So I opted for my Sarah Flint pointy toe Natlies. These Italian leather shoes feel a-maze-ing! If you decide to invest in a pair of Sarah Flints, be sure to use my coupon code SARAHFLINT-BAKAYH for $50 off your first purchase.
Thanks so much for dropping in today. I hope you have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend!

Perspective. Sometimes we assume that perspective is purely subjective and how we see things is a sort of “right.” We get to see the world the way we want to, right? Wrong. God’s Word tells us that there is a perspective on this world that helps us to navigate it well and there is a way of seeing things that ultimately causes us to stumble.
We are wise to try to see this world, our lives and other people through the eyes of God. When we see through His lens then we see clearly and we can walk as in the light, with clarity. How can we have this godly view of the world? By reading His Word, prayerfully and mindfully and humbly and daily. Also we ask God to help us see things from His perspective.
“The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!” ~ Matthew 6:22-23
Great BFMD! Prayers for a very safe trip to/from GA. At least the rain is moving out today, but like up there, our highs are still in the 80’s. I’m so anxious to wear my light weight long sleeve tops, but it’s just still too hot for them, and will be for the next week. Ugh! The outfit you wore last Sunday to church and out to eat barbecue is beautiful. You were brave to wear it while eating barbecue. The green sweater is also so pretty. I am still wearing my darker colored Birkenstock’s and will be for some time. I’ve added two pair of faux sterling lined Birks to my closet, which lets my feet breathe while staying nice and toasty.
Cool! How are you liking those faux shearling lined Birks? I’ve been seeing them everywhere. Do you just wear them at home or out and about?
The green sweater is a great color on you!
Thanks Sue. I do love wearing green.
Safe travels from one GA girl to another! ENJOY your family time.
Thanks so much. I’m looking forward to spending time with my parents. 🥰
Lovely Looks for the week. Thanks for the continual inspiration to dress for the day. While we can enjoy cool mornings it’s pretty hot here in Texas so transition stays challenging. Blessings to you and yours for the weekend.
Yeah, I guess it’s just hot everywhere. It’s like a heavy front is just sitting on us. It’s not just warm; it’s stuffy. I’m so tired of it. Ah well, we soldier on! 😉
You bought every color they have in that fabulous dress, didn’t you? I wish they had a long sleeve version. I learned to wear metal colored shoes from you. I love my sliver slippers and gold sandals. Speaking of shoes. Would you wear white sneakers all year?
Hi Eve. Yes, I wear white leather sneakers year round. But I love darker color sneakers for the winter too.
BFMD really resonated with me. Thank you for being a shining light. It’s absolutely true, about perspective. We all don’t see things through the same worldly lens. The green sweater looked so pretty on you. Enjoy your trip to GA. I lived in Atlanta for 9 years.
Thanks Donna. Will do!
Hi Kay. I love your transitional outfits. I am also a size 9 1/2 shoe and I was wondering if it took you awhile to get used to the closed toe mules. I really want a pair but any I’ve tried made my feet look so big. Now, I’m 5’9” , so I don’t ever think that my feet are big, but those mules are trying my patience. Any thoughts?
Yeah, I think it took me a bit to adjust to those and to loafers. But now I really don’t think about it at all. Also, I’d suggest some in this neutral or a dark brown or black rather than a color. And I do think some of the silhouettes look better than others. But I’m really enjoying mine. 😊
Thank you for your thoughtful response. Maybe I’ll just jump in and try a pair.
I loved the black and relaxed jeans from Talbots. Unfortunately both are back ordered. The black until end of October and the others until April 2022!
Oh my. I didn’t realize that. That must have just happened. The supply chain has become more and more problematic as the past year has gone on. Of course the end of October is surprisingly close! 😉
