How I Really Dressed for My Day this Week

Hello and happy weekend! I thought I’d start sharing a semi-regular “How I Really Dressed for My Day this Week” post on Saturdays. I’m not promising 100% regularity, but this is really an easy post for me to put together and my subscribers seem to like it when I share this info, so I thought we’d give it a shot. Plus, you get to see the clothes I’m really wearing. Most of them you’ll recognize from previous blog posts, but here you get to see how I styled them for everyday living or how I’ve restyled them with something else.

Plus, you get to see that, like many of you, I tend to wear the same few favorites over and over. Ha! Anyhow, let’s see what I really wore this past week.

How I Really Dressed for My Day

Sunday I wore this sleeveless pink peplum sweater to church with my black and ivory gingham ankle pants (similar). Of course, the top is sold out, but I found this one that is very similar and new for fall. I wore my leather capri sandals (available here in gold and silver) and carried this little black satchel I picked up at Target recently. It’s also available in a really pretty bright red.

Monday was Labor Day, of course, and we played it pretty low key. Actually James was gone most of the day, first to go to the shooting range with friends and then to visit a family in our church. Our plans for roasting wieners and marshmallows were rained out.

So I just wore my favorite denim shorts and this rounded v-neck tee (it runs large/size down). When I went out for a little while, I wore my Teva sneakers (40% off right now)

Tuesday I got out and about a little more, so I wore my high waist cropped flare cut jeans (40% off right now) and my wine colored sand washed button up shirt. I love this shirt! It’s also available in navy and moss green.

I slipped on my leopard print flats when I went out. These shoes are super comfy and they’re marked down 40% right now.

Wednesday I worked from home most of the day, but I did get out for a Target run. I wore my summer version of the athleisure look from this post. These are my Columbia hiking shorts that I wear at least once a week. I’ve paired them with my Madewell v-neck tee and my Teva sneakers. Oh, and don’t forget my nifty little bandana that I tied around my neck! I’m really enjoy this little Target find.

How I Really Dressed for My Day

Thursday I was back in my denim shorts. That day I wore it with a sweet baseball shirt my dear friend Candy sent me this summer. We had happened upon the shirt while browsing through a gift shop in Madison, Georgia, and I had admired it. A few weeks later it showed up in my mailbox. That Candy! She’s just the best. The shirt reads, “Sundays in the South.” Sweet. (I tried and tried to find this t-shirt online, but to no avail. Sorry.) I wore my Teva sneakers again.

Friday I had a friend over for lunch. We had BLTs with avocado mayonnaise. Yum! I wore this denim skirt and my sandwashed v-neck tee (also available in a soft black) with my gold toe-ring sandals. Super comfy, but an upgrade from my jean shorts! The skirt was marked down about 33% when I wrote this post Friday night.

So that’s it. That’s how I really dressed for my day this week. A lot of these items are still available (in limited sizes) and marked down, so they’re worth a look-see. I’ve included affiliate links in this blog post so you can shop efficiently and I can make a little money. Thank you for supporting my work by shopping through my website. It is super helpful to me and so appreciated.

I hope you all have a blessed and beautiful week. But remember, more importantly, go be a blessing!

Blessed for My Day

I used to tell my kids that I would know they were mature and had really “grown up” when they began to take into consideration other people’s feelings, not just their own. I think being considerate is a good measure of maturity. But how do we reach that kind of maturity when everything in our world beckons us to put self first? I’ve found that the more time I spend with Jesus, the more I grow in maturity. When I neglect my time with Him, I become more self-centered and ambivalent towards others. This weekend let’s be sure to spend time with Jesus so that we can treat others with maturity and compassion. Let’s spend time reading His Word, meditating on His ways, meeting Him in prayer and worshiping Him with others. Then we’ll begin to respond to the world around us with maturity and Christlikeness.

Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. ~ Colossians 1:28
