Well I finally remembered to take enough photos of my actual daily outfits to post another “How I Really Dressed for My Day” post. As usual, there’s nothing earth shattering here, but readers seem to like these posts. And, hey, as long as I can remember to take photos, they’re pretty easy for me to put together.
This past week included a few unseasonably cool days, so I actually got to break out a few of my transitional fall clothes. But you’ll also see that I had some extremely casual work-from-home days. At any rate, this is how I really dressed for my day…this week.
Saturday – Speaking Engagement
Last Saturday I had the opportunity to speak at a women’s Bible study kick-off luncheon at Sun City West Baptist Church just outside of Phoenix. The church is in a retirement community, so I knew all of the women would be older than me. The age of my audience prompted me to dress a little “fancier” than I sometimes do when I speak. And I was glad I had done so. There were about 70+ women there, and they were so gracious and responsive. It was a great day.
You might recognize this cheetah print skirt from this post, as well as the toasted sesame suede pumps. My skirt is a 6, and runs true to size. I did change up the top because, y’all, Sun. City. Arizona. It’s blazing hot there. So I enjoyed wearing this wrap top in winter white. By the way, I didn’t have any trouble at all with it staying closed in the front. I’m wearing a small.
The skirt and the top are on sale and, as I’m writing this post, you get to take another 40% off the price. And there are plenty in stock right now. But that sale could end at any time. There is not end date listed.
By the way, I wore this outfit the entire day. That’s a little over a 3-hour drive there and back, plus the event and stopping to eat. And I was perfectly comfortable. Nice.
I forgot to include it in the photo, but I carried this black circle handle bag from Target.
Sunday – Church & Small Group
I know I just cleaned that mirror! Ugh! Sorry. I’ll get right on it!
Sunday morning I wore my steel grey jeggings and this sandwash wine colored button up shirt. The shirt is presently marked down considerable and they have all sizes available in all three colors, but that sale goes off at 11:59 Saturday night.
My belt is this one at Target and most of you have seen these sandals often enough to know they are from Talbots. Of course, they’re marked down…but just a little.
I don’t really know why, but Sunday evening I changed into this outfit for small groups. I’m wearing the 29 in these flared cropped jeans, so I’d say they run true to size. They are marked down considerably.
My t-shirt is this vintage soft pocket tee, and you can get 40% through Sunday. If you waffle between two sizes, go with the smaller of the two. I’m wearing my microsuede mules from Target. They fit true to size. I still wore this leopard print belt. And I carried my Michael Kors scalloped leather satchel. It’s still available, but only in soft pink, and still drastically marked down. But you’ll need to join their KorsVIP program (at no cost) in order to save an extra 25%…making it a ridiculous savings…well for Michael Kors, anyhow. I’m loving this handbag, and they do have some other great deals as well.
Monday
Actually, I wore some variation of this athleisure look most every week day, but I occasionally changed to go somewhere. When I’m spending my days writing, I don’t bother to get very dressed up and I want to be comfortable.
I’m loving these Zella crop pants, and they’re available in a pretty teal, too. (Remember, Nordstrom is awarding you with 3X Rewards points through the 23rd.) I’m still wearing my vintage soft pocket tee. Truthfully, no telling how many days I wore this soft t-shirt. But I did eventually toss it in the dirty clothes! And on my feet? My Teva sneakers in fig, of course. Oh, and I’m carrying my crossbody wristlet from Vera Bradley.
Tuesday
Tuesday it suddenly got a little cooler and we had some rain. When I went out in the evening I was able to wear my new utility jacket for the first time “really.” I love this little jacket. It’s marked down considerably (just through Saturday night) and they have most sizes available in the dark olive. I’m wearing a pink t-shirt that is no longer available, my microsuede mules and my leopard print belt. Oh, and again these are my cropped, flared jeans.
Wednesday
Cool again in the evening, I got to try out my new split shaft suede booties. Love! They’re still marked down 50% off and available in many, but not all, sizes. Of course, I’m wearing the same jeans as above. Really, y’all, each time I wore jeans it was just for a little while, so I just kept grabbing the same pair. Ha!
But my tops are different! You may remember this little sleeveless top from this post about Target clothing. It’s still available. And remember, you can shop online at Target, order everything you want and then avoid shipping charges by picking your order up at your local store.
My sweater is the Leith Ribbed shawl cocoon sweater from Nordstrom in tan etherea heather, and it’s still available in most sizes. There are also several other shades to choose from. Size down. Mine is really too large, and they run big.
Friday
Yeah, I skipped Thursday. I just wore a repeat of the joggers and a tee. And, while I know it looks hot, I wore these full length joggers and sweat shirt Friday. I didn’t go anywhere (and I had cramps). So that’s what I wanted to wear.
These joggers are amazingly soft and comfy. And of course the sweatshirt is, too. My sweatshirt runs large, so go with your smaller size. I’m wearing a small in the navy peacoat (color), and they still have it in most sizes. It also comes in grey ebony, but in fewer sizes. It’s a good price and you get 3X points at Nordstrom Rack, too.
I’m wearing a medium in the joggers, and mine are the grey ebony. They also come in black. Again, these are at Nordstrom Rack, so if you’re interested in 3X points, now is the time to buy them.
No shoes. Ha!
That’s a Wrap!
So that’s How I Really Dressed for My Day this week. Keep in mind, I work from home. So these posts will probably more often than not feature athleisure or jeans. But trust me, any chance I get to dress up a little, I take it.
Let me know if you have any questions. I hope you have a great weekend!
Blessed for My Day
Today I pray for you to experience fully and tenderly the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace, amazing grace. It sets us free and makes a way and welcomes us in. And I pray that you feel, truly feel, the love of God. God’s love…it is bigger and higher and deeper and more persistent than we can imagine. Finally, I pray that you know intimately the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. I pray that He comforts you, guides you each step of the way, gently corrects you, patiently teaches you, quietly reminds you and tenderly accompanies you. This weekend, may you experience God fully. And may you praise Him because you do.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. ~ 2 Corinthians 13:14
I love all of this! Thanks, Kay!!! ???
What size do you have in that burgundy Lucky Brand shirt?
Hi Nancy. I’m wearing a medium. I’m not sure if I tried on a small or not. But I usually wear a small in similar shirts. Hmm. But it’s a medium. I just checked.
What size are you wearing in the leopard print belt from Target? Love all the outfits featured here!
Hi Debbie. I’m wearing a medium. ?
I am going to copy all of your outfits this fall. They are perfect for our San Diego weather. And I can pretty much shop my closet! The best part about your pictures is that now I know what I will look like, sort of. LOL Not as good of course, but I’m trying:)!
What?!!! Of course you will look every bit as beautiful! I’m glad to inspire you, but you go be beautiful, girl!
