Happy weekend everyone! I hope you have plans for something you enjoy today, whether that’s working in your yard or home, getting out and about or visiting with friends or family. I’ll mainly be working in my home today, but I do plan to get out to run some errands and maybe to get in a hike. Fall weather is coming!
How I Really Dressed for My Day This Week
Today I’m sharing “how I really Dressed for My Day” this week, plus some great sale finds. So be sure to read to the end of the post for those sales. It’s a great weekend to fill in the gaps in your fall wardrobe.
How I Really Dressed for My Day – Sunday
Sunday morning I wore the black stretch fit pants in Friday’s post with a different wrap top from Ann Taylor. This look is so effortless, but dressy and chic.
These pants are amazingly comfortable and very slimming. I love that they have a wide, flat waist band. I don’t have any problem keeping the blouse closed and modest, and it is not so sheer that you need a cami. I’m really enjoying these toasted sesame pumps because they go well with so many things. The leopard print satchel is new for me this week. It’s not a high quality handbag, by any means. But it’s a trend, so I think that’s a good place to price down and go with a cheaper version like this one. And you’ve seen this new favorite gold layering necklace before if you’ve seen my other posts this week. Love.
Sunday evening I wore something a little more casual to small group.
I noticed Talbots is running low in sizes for these Merlot jeans, but they still have the bay leaf green more fully stocked. The long sleeve shirt is so soft, and it’s still available at Target, as is the leopard print belt. My Tevas are available still at 6 p.m., and are 49% off.

Monday – Running Errands and Working from Home
Monday I just worked from home, but I did manage to actually get “dressed for my day.” Ha! And when I ran to Target and a few other places in the afternoon I slipped on these microsuede mules.
Tuesday – Working from Home & Shopping
Well it wasn’t a full day of shopping. I just ran into Dillard’s to try a few things. But I did decided to dress up a little. Ladies, I’m just done with summer. In fact, that’s what I’m doing today. I’m putting away my summer clothes and pulling out my fall/winter duds. You catch me posting about the process on Instagram stories today.
Yes, I’ll keep out plenty of short sleeve tops and even a couple of pairs of shorts – my denim ones and my Columbia hiking shorts – but that’s it! All the summer colored things are going!

Thursday Date Night
Thursday James and I managed to get out for a little date, so I spiffed up and put on these great skinny jeans (marked down this weekend) and this light weight deep plum top. I received these amazing leopard print block heel pumps in my recent trunk box, so I just slipped them on for this picture. I’m still trying to decide whether or not to keep them. I think they are absolutely gorgeous and very comfortable, and they’re marked down considerably (though still pricey) right now. What do you think? Oh, this clutch also came in my Trunk Club, and I haven’t decided about it yet either.
In the photo above, the shoes, jeans and necklace are all marked down some. Of course I actually wore my Sam Edelman leopard print flats; I just put these on for the photo so you could see them. They’re great shoes, but do I really need both these and the flats? Of course not. Hmm.
Friday Work from Home and Errands
Does it sound to you like I’m just always running errands? Ha! Well, when you work from home you honestly just have to come up with excuses to get out of the house occasionally, or else you (rather I) turn into a hermit. So I do get out to go to the post office, Target, the grocery store, Hobby Lobby or whatever at least a few days a week. And since my husband and I both office out of our house right now, it’s just a necessity that we each go our own way every once in a while.
So Friday, when I saw on my weather app that cool temps are coming in Sunday, I celebrated by dressing like it’s fall already. *grin* I wore my black skinny jeans or jeggings, as Talbots calls them, and this cute eaten apple three quarter length sleeve tee. I only went out in the weather in the late afternoon to pick up a rotisserie chicken for dinner, so it was cool enough by then.
Sorry about the blurry photo. It doesn’t look blurry on my phone and I had deleted the others I took, so I was left with this one.
My Michael Kors bag is back in stock and it’s marked down again this weekend. It’s actually even cheaper (well, not cheap) than the price listed in the shopping widget below. This is a good deal, ladies. If you’re looking for a quality structured handbag and you want to get it while the prices are low, now is the weekend to shop Michael Kors. They’ve marked down a lot of their beautiful handbags up to 50%.
By the way, these Talbots denim jeggings are proving to be very comfortable. These are the curvy fit, but my merlot jeans didn’t come in a curvy fit, and I can tell a difference. I was talking with a very petite, trim gal pal of mine earlier this week and we decided that curvy fit is better for most adult women at most of these boutiques. We think they are made to fit “real women,” while the regular fit works better for twiggy teens. So yes, I can wear the regular fit, but the curvy fit just feels significantly better on.
Oh, and the top I wore on Friday is marked down 30% this weekend, as are ALL Talbots tops, tee, camis, shirts and sweaters.

So that’s how I really dressed for my day this week. As you can tell, I’m getting antsy for fall weather. In fact, right this moment I’m probably stashing away those summer clothes and pulling out, steaming and hanging up my cool weather wardrobe.
Sales Worth Shopping this Weekend

You gals have a great weekend!
Blessed for My Day
Today let’s remember to be grateful. Isn’t it amazing what a difference a spark of gratitude can make? When was the last time you really counted your blessings? I encourage you to take some time this weekend to sit with a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage and just make a list of your blessings. Thank the Lord for the little things you normally take for granted, the big blessings you just can’t say “thank you” enough for, and those nuanced gifts that come wrapped in unusual packages like trials and setbacks and closed doors and seasons of waiting. Let’s just thank the Lord over and over this weekend. May gratitude be the soundtrack that plays throughout your home on this fall weekend.
Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man!
And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving,
and tell of his deeds in songs of joy! ~ Psalm 107:21-21
