Sheath Dress in Lace for Easter

I bought this short sleeve lace sheath dress for Easter last year. But they are still carrying it at Dillard’s. Obviously it’s popular, and I’ve certainly received a lot of compliments on it.

It’s by Preston & York, and they carry this Cruise Blue shade at Dillard’s. But it also comes in Ivory White, Navy and Black. It’s listed at $99 on regular price.

Perfect Sheath Dress for Special Occasions

Like I said, I bought this dress last Easter. But I bought it with both Easter Sunday and a fall wedding in mind. It was the perfect dress for an early October evening wedding.

It’s going to take me a while to get used to posting pictures of my backside on the Internet for the world to see! Ha! But you can see that the back of the sheath dress is simple and easy fitting.

I probably wore pearls with this dress last Easter, but sometime during the summer I bought this more decorative gold and pearl mid-length necklace. I needed something a little longer than my pearls to fall to the right place below the neckline. And I wanted something dressy, but also a little trendy.

Shoes and Bag Choices for a Sheath Dress

I chose to wear nude colored pumps in a barely visible snakeskin. I think blue pumps or sandals in a matching shade would look lovely, too. And dressy sandals would certainly work as well.

My handbag is a nude snakeskin as well, but it doesn’t exactly match my shoes. That’s okay. They don’t have to match, just coordinate. Here’s another handbag I like. And here’s another one.

I love wearing this dress because it’s such a beautiful, vibrant color. The fabric has just enough stretch to be comfortable and wear-easy, but not so much as to lose it’s shape. I do wear a Spanx shaper under this dress.

I don’t always buy a new dress for Easter. But because I needed a nice dress for a special wedding, I did last year. I’ll probably wear it again this year.

Here are a few more items I found on the Internet that resemble what I’m wearing today.

What about you? Do you purchase something new for Easter? I’d love to hear about the kinds of dresses you prefer.

I’m linking up today with Jo-Lynne Shane and her Fashion Friday gals. Be sure to check out the other great fashions at these style blogs, too. And I’ve also joined the Confident Twosday Linkup at Idodeclaire and a linkup at FashionShouldBeFun.

Blessed for My Day

I love Easter. It’s the day we believers in Jesus Christ celebrate His resurrection from death. Because we have a risen Savior we have hope for eternity and today. Hope, it’s a beautiful thing. And Jesus gives us hope in our most desperate situations. Whatever you’re going through today, there is hope. Jesus is your hope. Call out to Him in your moments of despair.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” ~ Romans 15:13

  2. Sheath dresses are very flattering for my middle aged figure (bit of tummy, in addition to the usual curves). I will be looking for one in a more summery color for some of the special events I have on the calendar. Thank you for writing about the hope that the risen Christ brings!

  3. Hello,
I see you live in Sierra Vista, Arizona! When my husband was in the Army years ago, we were stationed at Ft. Huachuca and our first child was born there. What a small world! I, too, have been thinking of starting a fashion blog for women over 60….

    1. Yes, we love Sierra Vista. It’s changed a lot over the years from what I understand. As far as a blog goes, I say go for it!! ?
