Happy Monday! I hope you enjoyed your final weekend of winter and are ready to move into spring. I know you are, but the weather may not be, huh? But at least tomorrow it becomes official.
I would have posted this Lucky in Love t-shirt from Lucky Brand on St. Patrick’s Day, but there’s not a drop of green in it! But I have loved wearing this relaxed, casual outfit a couple of times this past week. I repeat like that, y’all! When I put on something this snappy and this comfortable, it’s hard for me to resist wearing it again the next day!
My husband and I shot these outfit photos at the park just down the road from us. It was abuzz with baseball and t-ball teams practicing. We have such fond memories of those days with our own kids. Well more with Daniel than Abby. She lasted all of one season in t-ball, and it was not a walk in the park! But Daniel played baseball for about ten years, and he was really pretty good. And James coached almost every season. We had such fun in those ballpark days.
This is exactly the kind of outfit I would wear to watch my grandkids play T-ball…if I had grandkids. One of these days!
It occurred to me the other day as I was lamenting over posting pictures of my back side that everybody else is used to seeing me from this perspective. It’s just new to me! So, on with the show! But I do feel like it’s good to see how clothing fits in the back. Keep in mind, these pants are a little roomy on me right now, as I’ve been losing weight. I’m wearing an 8.
I paired my Lucky Brand T-shirt with some of my favorite pants – my Talbot’s Weekend Chinos. I bought these a couple of years ago in this perfect muted red shade. Granted, the lighting in this photo makes them look a little more vibrant. Talbot’s still has Weekend Chinos in their line-up, but I’m not sure if they have the red.
I wore my Chuck Taylor Classic Converse to complete the outfit. Don’t you just love wearing fun shoes? I didn’t wear any socks with my Converse shoes that day, and I’m comfortable like that for a couple of hours. But if I’m doing a lot of walking I wear no-show socks with them.
When I got home I was so bummed that I had forgotten to take photos of this outfit with my Levi’s jacket. It is darling with these red pants and soft blue Lucky Brand T shirt. Just imagine it with me. Don’t you like that? Here’s a link to the very Levi’s Trucker jacket I own in Sweet Jane. Although I’ve had mine for years, so they may have changed it up a little over time.
I went through a phase a few years ago (okay, sometimes I’m still in it) of buying every pair of khaki colored pants that fit me. I know. Weird. We all have our issues. But when I realized I could get casual chinos like this in different shades, that kind of broke me of my addiction. I have absolutely loved having these red chinos in my closet. They go with so many things. And last year I added Talbot’s lime green shade, too, but they are too big now (gotta hate that!). These are great pants for spring, summer and fall.
Well, that’s a wrap. Let’s play ball! By the way, what memories do you have that remind you of spring? For me it’s Little League baseball, piano recitals, Easter shopping and lots of final school events for the kids. And chinos. Usually in khaki! 🙂
Blessed for My Day
Have you considered how gracious God was to create the different seasons of the year? Not only is the changing of the seasons a beautiful reminder that no circumstance in life lasts forever, but it also reminds me that God is doing something during every season of our lives. In the Spring of our lives we do a lot of growing. In the Summer season of life we are vibrant, but we also have to invest heavily toward the future harvest. The Fall of life represents so many beautiful and bountiful harvests – perhaps our careers reach their pinnacle, kids graduate and marry, grandchildren are born, homes are paid off (hopefully!). The Winter may appear to be only for rest, but any farmer knows there is still work to be done here – it’s just different. Whatever season of life you are in, thank God for what He is doing and offer to cooperate fully. It’s a beautiful thing!
“There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven.” ~ Ecclesiastes 3:1
Hi Kay! I see why you love the red chinos. They look darling on you and I’m sure the jacket looked oh so cute. I have been wearing my white Converse Shorelines so much here of late and just love them. It took me a while to get in the swing of wearing them and now I can’t stop. Congrats on the pants being too big…that’s the best feeling. I hear ya’ on the grandkids. I can’t wait for that day too. XO
Thanks so much for dropping in Lisa. I look forward to getting to know you better and keeping up with you on Coast to Coast! I love that you’re an Eastern transplant living in the West. I am, too. I’m from Georgia living in Arizona. Let’s keep in touch!
I love your graphic tee and Lucky Brand never disappoints! It looks great paired with your red chinos and converse shoes! This is a typical outfit for me and I don’t have my son playing baseball yet. Though I think he would love it. He’s an energizer bunny of some sorts!

Thanks for dropping in Cheryl. Yes, I think I actually wore this T for at least part of the day for three days this past week! I finally tossed it in the dirty clothes hamper last night!
Kay, you look stunning in these photos. The light is just perfect, isn’t it? I do love your outfit. This is the kind of outfit I like to wear on a spring / summer day here in the Algarve where I live. And yes, I would have worn a denim jacket with it too!
Have a fabulous week!
