Funny how we had hardly had a winter to speak of here in southern Arizona, but we’ve been paying for it this spring. It’s been cold! Brrr! But I can’t complain really because it’s given me plenty of opportunities to wear my jackets and cardigans, which I always look at longingly through the hot summer months.
I love a layered look. Lots of texture, layers of colors and neutrals, various points of interest. Maybe that’s why I have such a thing for khaki colored pants. They’re so easy to mix with multiple colors and textures. I purchased these beach colored Weekend Chinos last year, but they still have limited sizes available. And these Girlfriend Chinos are similar and available in a larger assortment of colors and sizes.
I’m wearing my chinos with this gold front pocket T-shirt from Target. Last I checked they were on sale for $5.00. And I’ve really enjoyed this T. I also have it in soft lavender, which I featured in yesterday’s post.
My scarf is one that my daughter Abby passed on to me when she was tired of it. I think it has beautiful colors in it. Perfect for adding some vibrancy to all the solid color panels that make up this ensemble. Here’s a link to another similar scarf at a low price and here’s a beautiful scarf that’s a little pricier. I love it when I find an inexpensive scarf that I love, but honestly I don’t mind spending a little more for one that I know I will wear season after season either.
My shoes are from Target by Universal Thread, but they seem to be out online. They’re similar to these UT Flats, which, alas, are also out of stock. But I recently ordered these espadrilles from Talbots and would definitely wear them with this ensemble.
My jacket is ancient. I have no idea. It’s the Levi’s Original Trucker jacket. I have gotten so much enjoyment out of that jacket. If you don’t have a denim jacket to throw on with absolutely everything, I recommend it.
The French heart pendant necklace is also a longtime treasure, but it’s also a classic at James Avery, almost always in stock.
My red crossbody bag is from Fossil a few seasons back, but I think this orange Fossil crossbody is darling and would make a very modern substitute.
This is the kind of outfit I love to put on during the chilly spring season because I can just wear the T-shirt and pants while I work from home, drape the scarf around my neck if there’s a draft in the air and throw the jacket on before I head out to the post office. Which is exactly where I need to go right now. Y’all have a beautiful spring day!
Oh, and I did create a shopping widget with all the items pictured and mentioned in this post. Just scroll through and click on the items to shop for them. I tried to link to the best prices I could find.
Dressed for My Day
Life took a very unexpected turn for me today. I’m a little unnerved and lost right now. But I know that God is in control, that He loves me so very much, and that He has plans for me…plans that cannot be changed by any human. I trust Him, so I am not done in. Instead, I am full of hope. Maybe you are in a similar situation. Let’s cling to the truth of this scripture.
We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. ~ 2 Corinthians 4:8-10
I’m really enjoying your new fashion blog. Thanks for the affordable and attractive inspiration!
Your affirmation means a lot to me, Judy. Thanks so much for letting me know that you are enjoying the posts. Have a wonderful day. ?
I like your blog a lot, so I subscribed. Todays outfit is very nice. I just don’t like the color of the shoes in this outfit. Sorry. But maybe my tablet does not show the right shades. Have a nice day, Kay. I look forward to the next post.
Thanks so much for stopping in and subscribing. And for sharing your opinions! Always welcome here. The shoes are a light blue and white ticking. So they’re pretty neutral really. But you are certainly welcome to not care for them. Have a great day!
Love that I found your blog and truly love the Scripture sharing! Your outfit looks so fresh and fun for Spring! Blessings!
Thanks so much for the encouragement Joanne. That means a lot to me. You help me keep my standards high. ?
Hi Kay! Lovely casual outfit. I prefer to wear jeans instead of khakis together with my converse. It may not appeal to another but it makes me feel comfortable. BTW. I love the inspiring scripture. I struggle with my desires vs God’s plan for me.?
Thanks for reading Jocelyn. ?
Kay,I enjoy your fresh and colorful choics. Fun! Love and prayers for you and James.
