Welcome to Dressed for My Day, gals. My goal here – each and every day – is to inspire and help women like you and me to dress beautifully and appropriately for our unique days so we can engage gracefully with those around us and influence them positively.
Today I’m styling a transitional and spring outfit composed of one of my favorite color trios – green, navy and white. Oh, and of course I threw in a splash of leopard print, too!
While you may have been wearing your white jeans all winter – because that’s perfectly acceptable! – now it’s time to pair them with more springlike colors. And this vibrant, true green is a beautiful choice. It makes me think of tulip or daffodil stems peeking up through the cold earth, promising additional colors in the days to come.
My navy ponte knit blazer is a classy topper for this outfit and so many others. The jacket has a push forward notched collar with long vented sleeves. It’s fully lined with a coordinating navy and white fabric so you can roll the sleeves up for a sweet little contrast around your wrists. (I’m sorry I forgot to do that for these photos.)
I’m wearing a size 8 blazer.
I’ve come to love Ann Taylor’s wrap tops. I find that they fit close to the body and don’t gape open at the neck. However, I realize that I have a small bustline, and if you are well endowed the top may fit you differently. I do think the wrap silhouette is very flattering, however. And a v-neck is universally the most becoming neckline on most women.
***2/27/2019 Update – This top is 60% off the sale price today only!!
This wrap top is also available in a pretty batik blue. The green top would also pair beautifully with blue jeans, black pants, a navy skirt or even black and white gingham. My top is a size 8. Don’t you love the pretty, subdued ruffles?
All of my jewelry is old and from my jewelry box, but the key is simply to select a necklace that fits within the v of the neckline. I chose a rather large statement necklace, but you could also go with some dainty layering pieces like these beauties.
I always either size up in white jeans (and often even white pants) or opt for the curvy fit. These are a curvy, size 28 (6). I have enjoyed wearing these since last spring, and plan for them to be my white jeans for 2019 as well. They come in modern or curvy fit as well as regular and petite lengths.
You’ll notice I’ve shown this outfit with both leopard print flats (similar option and similar option) and my leopard print block heels. I know my readers like seeing both options and, honestly, I love wearing both sets of shoes equally.
And yes, you can definitely keep wearing your animal print through the spring and summer. Yay!
Finally, my Michael Kors satchel, which I continue to love using, has sold out. However, this Benning satchel is identical minus the scallops. Love, love, love this classic, timeless bag.
Do you have a favorite color trio that you enjoy wearing in spring? What colors are you looking most forward to wearing as the weather gets a little warmer and the days get longer? I’d love to hear from you today.

Blessed for My Day
When life takes a turn and the unexpected happens how do you respond? There have been many times, unfortunately, when I came undone because life seemed to be falling to pieces. In those not-so-stellar moments I became an agent of anxiety for those around me.
But we have a choice when life crumbles. We can be agents of anxiety or have a contagious calm. Wow! Wouldn’t our family members, co-workers and friends benefit from knowing someone with a contagious calm? How can we keep our calm when things are falling apart? By remembering that we are not alone. In fact, we are not in charge. But there is One in charge who is dependable, available, powerful and willing to step in.
The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 4:5b-7
“Blessed for my Day” – I look forward to reading this in the morning to start my day. Thank you!
Great Julie, I’m so glad these simple words speak to you. ?
Great spring look! Very fresh!
What a nice spring color combo! The two colors I look forward to wearing in my tops is pink and coral. Thank you for today’s BFMD!
Ooh, I’m loving pink, too. Obviously!! #seeyesterdayspost ? But I’m on the fence about coral for me. But of course you know I’ll give it a try! ?
Hello! I’m glad to have been introduced to you through Cyndi! Your fresh and classic style are beautiful. Thank you for kindly and boldly incorporating the “Blessed For My Day” words from you and our Lord. I look forward to more of your posts!
Welcome Rachel. I’m thankful for Cyndi introducing me to her readers. Glad you’re here!
New from Cyndi’s site also. and so glad to meet you! I love your color combo & you look smashing! Since I am a casual girl you looked dressed up and love that! I bought some darker green casual/dressier type ankle pants in the fall from Loft that I love and get me out of jeans to remind myself to dress up alittle more. I usually feel dressier in white jeans too in the Spring. I am new here & love reading all your skincare routines. Love your breezy outlook on things while I am over here planning my yearly restylane & dypsort visit. LOL! I wish I could be more like you. You are an inspiration to us all!
Welcome! So nice to meet you. Thanks for sharing a little about yourself! I always love it when readers do that. I’m glad we have some differences and some similarities. Isn’t that wonderful?!
Thank you , Kay for your warm welcome! Yes, I do love we have similarities & differences also. I can learn from you easily and be smiling while I do it. 🙂
Kay, I have been following your blog for a couple of months now and absolutely love it! I look forward to what you have to share with us each day and so appreciate reading your posts! Just curious, you mentioned that today is haircut day for you. Your hair always looks so pretty! I’m also in my 50’s with similar hair color to yours. I am contemplating letting mine go gray and embracing the season. I wondered if you had anything to share in this area. Thanks so much!
Hi Cathy. I’m so glad you are enjoying the blog. That means so much to me. Well I’m not really sure what my hair looks like on the blog. I do color it, but I just changed the process about 8 weeks ago. I used to highlight it about every few months. Then I felt like it was looking too grey so 8 weeks ago my hairdresser put a rinse on it I know she used two shades of ash, but I don’t know much more than that. We decided I didn’t need a touch up or anything today so she just cut it…a little differently at that.
I’m not really ready to go completely grey yet, but I do love it when I see women with beautiful grey or silver hair. You know this aging thing hits us from every angle. Body aches, changes in metabolism, vision, digestive situations, blah , blah, blah. So I can only handle so much at a time. Ha! Anyhow I know that one of these days – probably sooner than later – I will give in to the grey. But just not quite yet. Not completely anyhow. ?
My favorite bible verses. Thank you. Just discovered your blog from Thompson hill.
Hi Vicki! I’m so glad you stopped in. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
