Greetings on this Good Friday. I hope you are able to celebrate Easter this weekend in a way that is meaningful for you. Today I’m sharing a fun, casual ensemble that works perfectly for outdoor activities and celebrations.
Last year I discovered the Aventura brand at my Dillard’s here in southern Arizona. Because we live in a mountainous area filled with hiking trails and outdoor opportunities, our Dillard’s carries a lot of brands that specialize in outdoor apparel, such as Woolrich, Columbia, Royal Robbins and Aventura. If you’re not familiar with these brands, they’re worth checking out, especially if you enjoy hiking.
My pants are the Aventura Arden V2 Slimmers. I’ll be honest, they were a little tight in the calves to me, so returned them. But y’all, I have chunky calves. I like to think they’re just muscular, but…well I’ll just leave that there! Anyhoo, I think they would fit nicely on a lot of women. The waistline does ride a little lower than a lot of pants, so you have to get used to that. But I’ve really enjoyed wearing their shorts, which sit at about the same place on the waist.
The Tara jacket is a nice, heavy cotton with a cinch waist. I think a white denim jacket makes a nice addition to any wardrobe that includes a lot of blue jeans or other casual clothing. This jacket also comes in Blue Indigo, Oil Green and Dark Khaki. The link I’ve provided is to the Aventura website, which is the only place I’ve located the jacket. but this jacket is similar and half price right now.
I’m wearing the Bailey top in Sweet Pea green. This shirt is so comfortable, as are all the shirts I own from Aventura. And I love this color for springtime. Unfortunately, I don’t know where you can get it other than from Aventura directly. I like to wear my t-shirts with a sloppy front tuck, but I know some of you prefer just to put the thing in or out, thank you very much! LOL! I totally get that.
My sandals are Clarks from a couple seasons back, but here is a link to similar sandals. I prefer to wear shoes like this when I think I may be doing some walking or even light hiking. They’re perfect for spending a day at a park, an outdoor family reunion, an amusement park or the ball field.
Don’t you just love the combination of green and blue? I don’t know why, but it really makes me happy. When I’m hiking or spending time in nature, I generally choose to wear colors that I consider to be “natural,” colors that are dominate in my surroundings. I’m not saying you should. I just do. Funny, kinda!
What do you have planned for this special weekend? I hope it is a beautiful one in your neck of the woods. Maybe you’ll have opportunity at least to get out for a walk or some time in your yard. Let me know what you’re up to. And have a blessed Easter!
I’m linking up today with other fashion bloggers at Jo-Lynne Shane’s Fashion Friday. Be sure to check out their styles.
Blessed for My Day
Easter is the Sunday that Christians celebrate the fact that we serve a risen Savior, Jesus Christ. Because Jesus overcame death and rose again, we know that we also can live eternally with Him. Death is not final for us; it is only a passage-way into His presence. That means we can live every day with hope.
He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. ~ Matthew 28:6a
Super cute casual outfit! Loving your blog!
Thanks, Cindy. And thanks for the encouragement. I’m so glad you were here!
I have recently discovered your blog and am enjoying it! I grew up in Arizona and it is nice to see pictures and hear about my beloved desert. This post was one of the first ones I saw and I fell in love with these Adventura pants. I finally decided to order them and I really like them. I am petite and have a hard time finding pants that I really like. So, thank you!
Oh, I’m so glad those pants worked for you, Linda. And how nice that you are so familiar with Arizona. It’s definitely a unique state, and we love it! Welcome to Dressed for My Day!
Thank you! I look forward to more of your posts!
