Sedona Wide Leg Ankle Pants + Denim Jacket

Happy Friday, everyone! Has this week flown by for you, too? I think anytime I have high aspirations for getting a lot of work done, the clock and calendar both speed up, thus thwarting my plans! Hahaha! I meant to get some spring cleaning done this week. But, nope. Notta.

Today I’m sharing such a fun outfit with you. These Sedona wide leg ankle pants are so versatile, but I’ve styled them for a casual day strolling through your favorite beach town.

These darling lightweight ankle pants are part of the Gibson X Hi Sugarplum! Resort Collection designed by Gibson and style blogger Cassie Freeman of Hi Sugarplum. Unfortunately, Nordstrom sold out of all except for the x-large petite. Ha! So if that’s you, congratulations!! However, Cassie has assured us that they are restocking in late March/early April.

Ok, now that I got that little disclaimer out of the way, let’s talk about these great pants and how I styled them.

These pants run pretty true to size for me, but if you’re between sizes, go with your smaller size.

These 100% rayon pants have a “paperbag” elasticized waistband with a removable tie. They also feature front slant pockets. Since they’re a little sheer, you’d want to wear flesh toned undies with them, but they’re not so see-through that you’d feel uncomfortable by any means.

These wide leg ankle pants are perfect for slipping on over your swimsuit, but you can do so much more with them. Pair with one of these Hi Sugarplum! tees, tanks or camis and slip on a pair of strappy sandals or comfy wedges for an ultra feminine appeal. But I’ve topped mine with a simple white tee and a denim jacket for a sportier vibe. And I wear my sneakers as often as I can!

Yes, these rattan circle bags are still in style this spring and summer. If you bought one last year, pull it out! The one I’m showing here is sold out, but you might like one of these circle bags available at Amazon.

By the way, these pants are supposed to be even a tad longer than they are on me. Cassie, who’s 5’4″, wears hers longer. So if you’re worried about being petite and pulling it off, don’t give it a second thought. I think these truly look great on everyone.

Blessed for My Day

I must confess, the news of parents paying bribe money to get their children into certain prestigious universities stunned me. This news has weighed heavy on my heart since I first learned of it. But I’ve also had to confess that, while I’ve never committed this particular crime, I’m not perfect. These parents’ actions is not just a revelation of poor personal character; it’s also a reminder of the depravity of mankind. And that includes me.

Today let’s remember that it’s a slippery slope. We must work to keep our virtue intact, to practice self-control when all about us are losing theirs. We must choose godliness and steadfastly pursue a righteous course of life. These things do not come naturally to us either.

For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.
