Hello, and welcome to Dressed for My Day! I’m so pleased that I get to share a new friend with you today. Fonda from Savvy Southern Chic is teaming up with me to share two ways to style pastel jeans this spring.
I was immediately drawn to Fonda’s style blog because she’s a southern sister! (Y’all, remember I live in Arizona, but if you’ve watched my Instagram stories you know I can’t shake my Georgia accent.) Fonda is a career woman, so she’s great to follow if you’re a 9 to 5 gal yourself. But she has style out of the office, too. I also love that Fonda is a fellow Jesus follower. And for those of you looking for a blogger with a different body shape to follow, Fonda identifies as a petite pear shape…who doesn’t always follow the rules! Yep, she’s my kind of gal.
I’ve provided plenty of links to Savvy Southern Chic at the bottom of the post, so be sure to click over and get the scoop on how Fonda styled those pretty lavender jeans. But first let me share the details of my outfit.
When Fonda and I decided to style colored jeans, I immediately knew I wanted to try denim from a new venue. While I’ve worn Lands’ End clothing before, it had been a while since I’d ordered from this iconic brand. So I was pleased as punch when I found these high rise slim ankle jeans in washed cameo. I ordered the tall fit, but I wish now I’d stuck with the regular length, even though I’m 5’8″.
These jeans are very comfortable and maintain that Lands’ End quality. I’m wearing an 8, which is a size up from what I wear in higher end jeans. The jeans are also available in six other beautiful shades. And today you can get 40% off one full price item at Lands’ End with coupon code TULIP and pin 5424.
By the way, while the website calls the color of these jeans washed cameo, I would describe them as peach or pale coral.
I think one of the easiest and freshest ways to style your colored jeans is to top them with a pretty novelty t-shirt. My beaded cactus tee is from last summer, but with little hints of peach here and there it coordinates beautifully with these peach pants. I’ve provided some other novelty tee options in the shopping widget below, but I especially love this one (perfect with yellow or green jeans) and this beaded one.
For a little added whimsy, I wore my leopard print belt. After all, I think pastel jeans are meant to be fun! I’m wearing a medium belt.
Because I know my readers are pretty much divided into two camps – heels and flats!! – I styled my peach colored jeans with both. I find myself slipping into these saddle leather slides almost daily. They’re a little roomy on my regular width feet, so if you have narrow or wide feet, take note. Of course they’re available in other pretty colors and prints, too. And if you’re looking for a more economical option, you might consider these, which are also by Sam Edelman.
But if you’re a high heel gal, these platform wedge sandals are the way to go. I’m late to the party with this enduring style, but I think they feel great for heels and you just can’t beat the look. They’re youthful, feminine and elongating, if you go with this neutral tan leather. These wedge sandals are great with pastel jeans, but also other jeans, skirts and dresses. Although I think these are a pretty reasonable price, if you’re looking for something a little lower in height and in price, you could check out these.
And of course, Fonda and I both topped our pastel jeans with denim jackets. I love it that she went with white and I went with my traditional Levi’s ex-boyfriend trucker jacket in a medium wash. Both are wonderful essentials. Gals, you just have to have a denim jacket in your wardrobe. I’ve had my Levi’s jacket for years, while I’ve had others that have come and gone.
This Madewell leather tote is so roomy and easy to throw over my shoulder. It’s a little pricey, but I’m seeing it as an investment in a versatile leather bag I’ll carry for years. I just always need to have a roomy tote at my disposal. It also comes in a zipper version.
Because I’ve got a lot going on here with the embroidery and beads on my t-shirt and the leopard print belt, I kept my jewelry minimal. I wear these dainty layering necklaces almost daily. Here I’m wearing the palm necklace and the mini chloe.
Finally, for a little contrast in prints, I tied a pretty floral scarf to the handle of my bag. You don’t have to match your scarf perfectly to your outfit that way, but it still provides color and interest. Remember, with colored jeans, it’s just fun and appropriate to add a touch of whimsy.

Blessed for My Day
Our good works don’t impress God, but they do indicate that we belong to God. Our good works don’t earn favor with God, but they do show others that He has lavished us with His grace.
And when we do the good works He’s called us to and created us for, we please our God and fulfill the unique purpose He’s assigned us. Don’t think you have a calling? Sure you do. Wherever you live and work and play, God simply wants you to let your light shine…so that others may see your good works and thus see Jesus. Let’s walk worthy of the Lord today, gals…no matter if we’re wearing flats or heels!
So that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God. ~ Colossians 1:10
Love the blue denim jacket against these pastel jeans. I’m a fan of the wedges but both ways look great!
Thank you SO much for darkening the print on your website. I LOVED it yesterday when it was vey dark and today is more in keeping with everyone else’s. It was very hard to read before. You look cute as always and I already have most of what you showed us today in my closet! Love your blog and feel blessed to have found you!
Thanks for letting me know Sondra. Glad you’re enjoying the blog! ?
I’m looking at the jeans you have styled. Several of the reviews said that the color washed out (in spots) after washing. Have you washed yours yet? I only have white jeans (and then darker colors – olive, gray, blue) so I am thinking it would be nice to have a lighter spring color. Thanks!
I’ve not had any problems with these, but I always wash in cold water. I bet the cold water makes a difference. You can also add a little vinegar with the first wash to help set the color.
Thanks! I guess I had better look at those beautiful colors again and make a decision 🙂 I need something to brighten things up since we had a snow squall yesterday and temperatures on the 30’s.
I love that TShirt Kay!!! So cute and I always wear pastels with leopard, I think it looks so chic. Heading over to visit Fonda. Have a great day?
Ooh yeah! Even more leopard would be great huh? Leopard shoes would look great. Thanks for sharing! ?
Cute! The print is easier to read! Thanks!
Good. So glad to hear. ?
I really like the changes to the teaser image and font. Was not a fan of the faded teaser image. Really wanted to see the outfit fresh and bright. Cheers!!
Huh. Well I don’t know why the image was ever faded. I didn’t change anything about the image. It shouldn’t have been faded. Hahaha! The mysteries of technology!! Thanks for letting me know. ?
Thanks for the darker print. Much easier on these old eyes.
Good to hear. Thanks for letting me know!
I order almost exclusively from Lands’ End because it’s one of very few European websites that offers petite sizing. In most brick and mortar stores in Austria, I only find “regular” sizes, and those almost always need some alterations, which I have neither the time nor the talent for. And I find that most of what I order through Lands’ End is of pretty reliable quality. Other things I wait to buy when I come to the States.
Good to know, Alison. I’ll try to share more from Lands’ End in the future. Thanks for letting me know!
You are just darling Kay, inside and out! I don’t have peach jeans but I do have peach cropped denim which would be just as fun and I have the jean jacket so now I have a new outfit option! Can you explain how to correctly measure for a belt and where the holes should line up appropriately ( if that makes sense). I’m always confused what size belt to order on-line. I’ve only purchased belts in the store so I can try them on. Thanks! I’m excited to meet Fonda as I’m a petite gal too! Heading over to see her Blog now!Blessings!
This print is SO MUCH better!! Thank you!! I think you’ve found the right one. I just love your blog and this makes it perfect!
