Hello gals, and welcome to Dressed for My Day. I hope you’re looking forward to a beautiful and meaningful Easter weekend. With the sweet shades of Easter as an inspiration, today I’m sharing with you an easygoing casual outfit in cool spring colors.

Once again we hit the streets of nearby Bisbee, Arizona, for these photos. And that’s exactly the sort of place I’d wear this fresh, spring look. In fact, the day we were in Bisbee, it was quite chilly but sunny, so this pastel jeans and popover combo was not only pretty, but it also kept me warm and comfortable.

This embroidered, textured popover is 100% cotton, so it feels soft and breathable. It has full length sleeves with button tabs to roll them up to 3/4 length. AND, while I love this radiant orchid color, the shirt also comes in a pretty blue that would look great with my mint jeans, too.

I bought these jeans and the popover in the store a couple of weeks ago when it was all 30% off, and unfortunately it’s not marked down right now. But watch for it! I’m sure it will all be offered at a discount again soon.

When I put on these jeans in the store that day, I immediately remembered why I keep returning to Talbots for my jeans. They just feel like coming home. In fact, while I often go with the curvy fit in white and pastel jeans, these are my usual size 6 in the regular fit. But they do come in a curvy fit.

I hadn’t really meant to pair these mint colored jeans with this orchid top, but ended up doing so in the fitting room. And when I did, I loved the look. But if you’re wondering what else you could wear mint jeans with (I get it!), I do have some suggestions.

As I write this post, I’m wearing these cool mint jeans with my navy and white bateau neck tee, which is marked down. I’ll also wear it with my chambray shirt, my white and navy tees and a couple of novelty tees I own (similar)

So as not to detract from the detailing at the neckline, I wore my simple and feminine gold layering necklaces. I’m wearing, from top to bottom, the Chloe small pendant necklace (it’s adjustable), the Chloe mini strand necklace and the star pendant necklace. I’m enjoying wearing these all together, but I also sometimes just wear one or two of them.

This large leather tote is perfect for a day of shopping or sight seeing, so you can carry all the things. In fact, I think I had my denim jacket stuffed in mine at this point. PLUS Nordstrom has restocked the tote in this English saddle brown. But I do like the black with brown handles option as well.

You may have noticed that I wore my leather Keds with this outfit in the first photos, but I elevated the look a bit with my platform wedge sandals. No I probably wouldn’t wear these to browse through an old town, but I’d wear them to dinner or lunch. These are proving to be great shoes. TTS.

As the sun dropped behind the mountains, I was glad I had my denim jacket in my tote. Indeed, this classic jacket really “completes” this outfit…just like a completer piece should.

For more tips on styling pastel colored jeans, you might want to check out this post where I styled peach jeans or this one where I wore pale pink jeans. And if you like the look of these cool mint jeans, but you’re not a fan of the price, you might want to consider the slim ankle jeans at Lands’ End. They’re shorter, but they come in a pretty washed mint and a really nice hedge green (my favorite). I wore these jeans in peach in this post (mine were in Tall).

Well there you have it! Let me know if you have questions. I try to mention sizing and fit and options, but sometimes I leave out something. So just ask!

Blessed for My Day

Today is Good Friday. The term “good” simply means that it is a holy day, a day of remembrance and reflection. On this day we commemorate Jesus’ crucifixion. It is traditionally a day of fasting and penance.

But whether you choose to fast or not, let’s do take at least a few minutes some time during the day to reflect on the gift of Jesus’ death on the cross. Yes, it was a gruesome, unjust and cruel death. But, in the bigger picture, it was necessary. And let’s not forget that Jesus’ life was not taken from Him; He laid it down willingly…out of obedience and love. That’s why we praise Him today.

After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been accomplished, to fulfill the Scripture, *said, “I am thirsty.” A jar full of sour wine was standing there; so they put a sponge full of the sour wine upon a branch of hyssop and brought it up to His mouth. Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. ~ John 19:28-30

  1. Love those trousers. I almost bought the same color but I don’t wear that often trousers. Hope to see you on my Fancy Friday link up party!

  2. I love pants in different colors! I wear different color pants with mix and match tops (usually t-shirts from Macy’s) all the time. At work we do not wear blue jeans except on weekends. I especially love twill/denim fabric because they are sturdy yet wash easily- I get that blue jean feel and comfort but look a smidge more polished. So much more fun than just khaki or dark colors!

  3. Normally I don’t pay that much attention to the backdrop of blog pictures, as I’m “in it” for the outfit pieces. But holy cow, Bisbee is beautiful, and these shots make it look like you are in a foreign country! They do really enhance the outfits. I’m so glad you are taking time for yourself and hubs this weekend. Lean into the blessings!

    1. Thanks Betsy. Bisbee is a very unique little town. Once a large and thriving copper mining city, it’s mostly full of eccentric and eclectic shops, restaurants and other venues now. Very artsy and culturally diverse. It’s fun to walk through and has some great food. I’ll pass on to my hubby your compliments on the photos ?. Have a wonderful weekend.

  4. Really cute look, especially with the wedges and denim jacket. And thank you for including a link to the Lands End pants. Hope you have a happy Easter weekend.

  5. The mint pants are such a pretty color. I would have never thought to put the two colors together, but they compliment each other. Bisbee does look lime a fabulous town to explore. Beautiful BFMD! At times it is so hard to comprehend the suffering Jesus endured for me. Blessings to you and your husband.
