Happy Monday, dear gals! We’re slated to receive rain today and the temperature is only supposed to get to 70 degrees. Oh my! In fact, we had a lovely fall-like weekend. I know those cool temps probably won’t last without a final heat wave, but they’re certainly a reminder that fall is fast approaching. So I’m proceeding with more transition-into-fall outfits here on Dressed for My Day. But today I’m putting aside the plain white and black tees I’ve been sharing to style a fall-ish look with an upscale t-shirt.
This wide stripe “boy t-shirt” is made of Banana Republic’s Luxespun knit blend, creating a super soft sweater-like texture. It’s full of silky stretch, but doesn’t warp with wear. AND you can still wash this 48% polyester, 48% rayon and 4% spandex fabric in the washing machine. I’m in love.
The lightweight texture of this sweater/t-shirt makes it a great piece for wearing now and again next spring. And right now different colors and striped patterns of this upscale t-shirt are marked down to varying sale prices.
I’m wearing a size small in this wide stripe upscale t-shirt and it provides a comfortable, loose fit without appearing baggy.
I prefer this tee partially tucked into my ankle jeans, but you could certainly wear it out as well. I’m wearing this simple leather hip belt that I recently picked up from American Eagle. My belt is a medium, which is my usual belt size.
Straight fit ankle jeans are really trending this fall, but it’s a little tricky finding the silhouette that works best for your body. I find that a slightly fuller leg gives me the best results, taking into consideration my fuller hips and thighs. These high-rise straight-fit ankle jeans are made of a very soft, giving denim and they seem to work well for a fuller figure. I love the raw hemline because it’s not ratty looking, just very casual.
If you have a slimmer, straighter body shape, you might prefer to try these high-rise straight ankle jeans, which seem to have a leaner silhouette.
I’m wearing a size 29, which is comparable to a size 6 in the Banana Republic size guide, in the high-rise straight-fit ankle jeans.
I find myself keeping my jewelry very classic and simple these days as I select outfits for transitioning into fall. I’m kinda done with the pink and white baubles I wore often during the summer.
I’m not purchasing many things right now as we transition from summer into fall. But I’m glad I bought this upscale t-shirt from Banana Republic. I think it has that fall-ready look without adding weight or heat. And when I do need to layer on a third piece, I’ll probably reach for a simple cardigan or even my denim jacket. Plus, I’ll pull it out to wear again next Spring.

Blessed for My Day
In a day when Bible teachers and preachers and inspirational speakers abound, it can be difficult to know who to lean into and who to steer clear of. At least I hope you realize that every appealing and charismatic speaker is not necessarily teaching sound doctrine. We must be able to test those we listen to and hold them to a biblical standard.
So how do you do that? Well, prayerfully, first of all. Ask God to guide you in your listening choices. But also look for their motivation. Do they appear to be motivated by pure love and a desire to help people find and relate to Jesus? Or do they promote themselves, profit excessively from their “ministry” and pride themselves in their accomplishments and followings? Finally, and most importantly, does the teacher or author have a Christlike character? One of humility, service, love and grace?
But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. ~ Jude vs. 20

Good morning Kay!
I just love this everyday outfit. This is how I dress most days as I am now retired. Cute sandals and elevated T-shirts are my go to’s. I definitely will be ordering this T and just bought some high rise ankle jeans, on your recommendation, from Talbot’s. Fall is my favorite color as the saying goes and living in Pennsylvania requires transitional pieces for sure. We have friends in Cleveland and when we visit we take our bikes on the Ferry to Kelly’s Island for the day. This is a fun day if you are bike riders. There lots of little shops and restaurants and a winery and a gorgeous Light House. Hope you have a blessed day ?
Hi Leslie. I’m so glad you enjoyed the post. Kelly’s Island sounds interesting. We’ll have to put it on our overnight trip bucket list. Thanks for the recommendation. ?
This is exactly my ‘cup of tea’ outfit for my everyday life! You look casual, but classy! Great choices!
Thanks Sondra. I’m pleased that you enjoyed the post. Have a wonderful day. ?
Your weekend trip sounded perfect 🙂 Love this outfit too!
Thanks Kara. Yes it was a sweet day. ?
You look really nice in this outfit Kay! The nicer tee looks great, but until I change out my clothes to see what I already have, I don’t need to buy any tops. We head to FL this Sat., I will get one last wear out of some of my summer tops, shorts, and jewelry. It sounds like you and James had a wonderful day of exploration on Saturday. Have a blessed day!
Kay, you look so pretty ?
Love this look, Kay. You can never go wrong with stripes and denim. And love the sandals!
