Mother’s Day is fast approaching, but it’s not too late to get a little something for the special moms in your life. Whether you’re looking for something for your own mother, your daughter or daughter-in-law or woman who simply inspires and encourages you, I think I may have something to recommend. Let’s check out my Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2021.

Mother's Day Gift Guide 2

I’ve tried to select gifts in a variety of price points, but also that suit various interests. And I kept this year’s gift guide quite simple and pared back. I think the most meaningful thing we can offer are words of affirmation and love. But if you’re looking for a gift to remind a special woman that she is indeed a special mother, I think you may find something here.

Soma Cool Nights Pajama Set // I love my Soma Cool Nights pajamas. They are made from an exclusive Cool Nights fabric that helps you stay refreshingly cool all night long. The separates can be a little pricey, but right now Soma has sweet sets of all kinds marked down.

This set features cool tie dye striped shorts and a lacy sleeveless top. They’re marked down from their original price of $70 to $49. And you can have them shipped directly to that special mom. You can find a wider selection of Mother’s Day options at Soma here. And this link will take you directly to all the Cool Nights PJ sets.

Acorn Waffle Spa Slippers // When my mother commented that she liked my pink Acorn Waffle Spa Slippers, I purchased her this pair in blue.

I love, love, love my pink Acorn Waffle Spa Slippers. They are super soft and so comfortable. And I appreciate the skid resistant and waterproof sole, too. They run true to size. And I’ve washed mine multiple times in the washing machine with great results. I’d love to buy these blue ones, in fact, but can’t justify it because my pink ones keep coming out of the laundry looking so good!

Soma WKND Collection Loungewear // Soma also makes beautiful and comfy cozy loungewear, and I absolutely love pulling mine out for Sunday afternoons around the house (or napping!).

The set shown above is actually made up of three separates. I think the Sunday wrap (also available in other neutrals), the ribbed tank and the Sunday short would make a well-loved gift for a young mom in your life. (Throw in the Acorn waffle spa slippers and you’d hit a homerun for sure!) These separates are intentionally roomy, so size down if in between sizes. I think I have mediums in all the pieces I own, but they’re definitely on the roomy side.

White Strawberry Bellini 3-Wick Yankee Candle // While I have and use other candles, Yankee Candles continue to be my favorite for their fresh scents and long burning properties. I just purchased a couple recently to burn in my new home as soon as we move. I noticed that Yankee Candles is also having a few Mother’s Day specials. They’ll ship right to the special mother in your life.

Tiered Jewelry Organizer

Tiered Jewelry Organizer // I featured my Tiered Jewelry Organizer in yesterday’s April Favorites post. If the special mom in your life enjoys wearing necklaces, this beautiful and sturdy Jewelry Organizer would make such a thoughtful gift.

Drusy Elisa Multi Strand Necklace

Drusy Elisa Multi Strand Necklace // I tried to find a good photo of me wearing this Drusy Elisa Multi Strand Necklace, but I finally just gave up. But it is one of my favorite go-to necklaces. It just goes with everything, especially during the spring and summer. It’s available in other stones, too. And Kendra Scott always beautifully packages their gifts. You can send it directly to the mom with a sweet note.

Fallyn Cuff Bracelet // This classic Fallyn Cuff Bracelet also comes in silver and rose gold finishes. It would make a lovely gift for the woman who prefers more classic jewelry. Or maybe she’s just the kind to wear her bling on her wrist.

Finally, I have a couple of gift suggestions for the woman who loves to get outdoors. Don’t forget, you can always share this gift list with someone who might be buying you a gift!

Outdoor Research Oasis Sombrero

Outdoor Research Oasis Sombrero // This sombrero, which also comes in other colors and a variety of sizes, would make a sweet gift for the grandmother who spends time watching t-ball games or tennis matches. Or maybe your special mom is an avid hiker or bird watcher. Truly any woman would benefit from the sun protection this wide brimmed hat affords. Oh, and it floats it water! So if she loves to kayak or boat, this sombrero would stay afloat if it gets away from her.

Slub Polo Tank // golf towel

Slub Polo Tank // Whether or not she plays golf or tennis, the special mom in your life might love the pretty watermelon pink of this black trimmed sleeveless polo top. It’s also available in other color combinations. And right now Talbots is having their Friends & Family preview sale, so if you have and use your Talbots credit card you’ll get 30% off this sporty gift, as well as 3X the style points.

Striped Cotton Golf Towel // And if she does play golf or tennis, be sure to add this pretty gardenia pink Striped Cotton Golf Towel. It will come in handy on the court or course, and she’ll think of you each time she uses it. Again, this sweet gift is at Talbots and is 30% off for cardholders.

Thanks so much for stopping in for a little Mother’s Day Gift Guide inspiration. I hope you found a little something for her…and for you! All the gifts are also in the shopping widget below. These and the links above are affiliate links. If you shop through them I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no cost to you. Thank you for shopping my links and supporting the work I do here. You make it a pleasure!

Blessed for My Day

I realize that many women are not mothers and that Mother’s Day feels awkward at best (but maybe even painful) for them. And I also realize that some of you may no longer have your mother here to celebrate, and sorrow comes more easily than joy. And if you, like me, live far away from both your children and your mom, the day can seem a little empty as you watch other families celebrate together. Days like these can be trying on several fronts. But I encourage you, as the day approaches, to choose joy and celebration rather than sadness. I know sometimes I have to “pray up” for such days, and I have to determine to dwell on what I do have rather than what I lack. Let’s not allow a day on a calendar to rob us of happiness, but let’s choose to reflect on the joyous memories, the blessings we’ve experienced and the opportunities we’ve been graciously granted.

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. ~ Philippians 4:8

xoxo, Kay

  1. Loved the blessed for Day! I had tears in my eyes as I read it. My mom has been gone for 9 years now and I think of her almost every day. I have to remember the good times we had and the cherished memories. Thanks. My son lives in Colorado but I am blessed that my daughter is here in town where I live. We are talking of doing a pedicure together for Mother’s Day. That would be a cherished memory. Have a wonderful Mothers Day Kay!

  2. My husband and grown children will definitely appreciate this post, us Mothers are such a mystery 😀.

  3. Thank you Kay,
I too will pray it up. My mother and children both so far away. Thank you for reminding us to try to find the goodness in our days like this.

  4. Im 78, my Mother has been gone a long time but my sister, who will be 80 in May, has her birthday coming up so I use this gift guide to get ideas for her. These are great ideas. I especially love how comfortable the house shoes look. She wears a 4 so it is hard to buy for her when it comes to shoes or clothes. Bet they don’t have a 4. 😊

  5. Thank you for such wise words! I have so much to be grateful for! I had an incredible Mama. I am mother to two God loving daughters. I am “Kitty” to two grandsons who are so fun!

  6. Thanks for this post — it is sad to be separated from loved ones on “holidays” especially when friends and neighbors have the luxury of being together. Yet, counting blessings and pondering what is good in life is so much better than dwelling on what isn’t desired or what’s lacking.

  7. Kay, what a beautiful Blessed For My Day blog! My mother and Godmothers all have passed, and I have no children (although I financially support children in Honduras and the Philippines.) You are definitely wise and have the gift of discernment! Thank you!

  8. Mother’s Day used to be a joyful time. My mother’s been gone for 7 years and my sister for 28 years. My sons could care less about ANY holidays due to their daily struggles with mental illness. All holidays are extremely difficult. I try to have a positive attitude but it’s certainly not easy. I’m just not certain I could make it through a Mother’s Day service this year.

    1. Oh my. I’m so sorry. We’ll be gracious toward yourself. You do what’s best for you this next Sunday. But remember regardless of whether or not our children celebrate us in any way on Mother’s Day, we have done the job to the best of our ability. And WE can celebrate that. Bless you.

      1. Thank you, Kay for your kind and encouraging words. I’m praying that I can recognize that I did my best inspite of my sons’ daily struggles with mental illness.

          1. Thank you for the reminder. It’s so easy to focus on the problems instead of God’s grace! I’m praying that God will help me to focus on Him so I’ll be able to attend church on Mother’s Day.

  9. This verse encourages me on Mother’s Day.
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:30‬ ‭NLT‬‬
