Happy hump day! I think we’re getting closer to cooler temperatures here in Cincinnati. It turns out that we had one of the hottest Septembers on record, but the air is supposed to cool before the week is out. And then it will be time for this classic fall sweater and jeans!

I wish I could tell you this soft, yummy sweater is marked down. Alas, it is not. But this one may just be worth every penny. It checks all the boxes!

This mock turtleneck sweater features a textured knit blend of acrylic, nylon, spandex and wool. So it’s thick and warm, but also full of stretch and ease.

I’m wearing this Vince Camuto sweater in a deep rose color called “fleur.” But it’s also available in several other equally beautiful colors: cool dusk blue, eucalyptus green, pale pink shadow and deep port wine. I honestly don’t know which is my favorite because they’re all such beautiful colors.

I’m wearing a small in the sweater and it fits beautifully, so definitely go with your lower size. I chose to wear these sparkly gem cluster earrings instead of a necklace. I love the contrast between soft textured knit and the colorful cut stones in the earrings.

I’m wearing my AG jeans, which I absolutely love. These are definitely my favorite full length skinny jeans. And right now these AG Farrah jeans are price matched at 25% off in a nice dark wash.

Don’t you just love a classic fall sweater and jeans?

I picked up these Sloan booties by Franco Sarto during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, so the price is quite a bit higher now. But I can tell you that these booties are some of the most comfortable ones I’ve ever worn. I love the 1 3/4 inch heel, the interior zipper, the almond toe and the taupe suede. But here is a pair at a lower price worth checking out. (Sam Edelman shoes are generally very comfortable.)

My handbag is a Michael Kors classic that I purchased last year. But this leather satchel is an equally lovely option. And here’s a vegan leather option at a lower price.

This outfit is about as simple as it gets. But really you can’t beat a classic fall sweater and jeans. Bring on the cool weather! I’m ready for it! Are you?

Blessed for My Day

Do you sometimes feel like your prayers aren’t getting past the ceiling? Or maybe you feel like God hears your prayer, but they don’t hold much weight with Him.

Well, those doubts and insecurities come from the enemy of your soul, dear friend. Because God’s Word assures us that He hears our prayers, has compassion on us, calls us to pray, acts upon our prayers and is stirred by what shakes us. Today as you pray, lean in even more. Trust that you have God’s full attention. He cares for you. And trust that He is at work.

Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words. ~ Daniel 10:12

xoxo, Kay

  1. You looking stunning, perfect color for you! I love the style & knit of that sweater! The cooler temps are due to hit here in Northeast PA tomorrow. I think fall will finally arrive! It’s been so hard to dress with this heat. I’ve been too hot wearing jeans, luckily I found a few pair of fallish looking capris in my stash of clothing! I always enjoy Blessed for My Day devotion! Happy Hump Day! P.S. finished reading Little Fires Everywhere. Quite the interesting read! Have you read Where the Crawdads Sing?

    1. No, but I’m planning to try it. I need to finish up the book I’ve been reading…kinda stuck in it. ? I’m glad you enjoyed the post! ?

  2. Kay, You look so pretty in that gorgeous sweater! That is definitely a great color for you to wear. We had a lot of broken records with the high temps in Sept. and are continuing that record through Friday. And then cooler temps move in, and we are hoping they stick around. One of my devotion readings today talked about Jesus being our prayer partner and how wonderful that is. I so agree! Enjoy your day!

  3. Good morning Kay, beautiful color on you. I love the background to your photos. Yes, we will hopefully experience a cool front next week. My community is still recovering from the flood of Tropical Storm Imelda. Blessings on your day.

    1. Oh I’m so sorry. Those can be difficult days. My in-laws were in the wake of Katrina and I know those were hard weeks and months. Blessings to you! ?

  4. Kay, I enjoy your blog so much! The pink sweater looks beautiful on you.
I love Blessed for my Day too. During the last 3 days, I’ve seen so many references to Daniel 10 that my hair is standing on end! On Monday, I had three separate instances. I have printed your post and am going to reflect on it throughout my day. I’m feeling very encouraged! Thank you Kay! Blessings to you!
