It’s another beautiful spring day here in Cincinnati, so this gal is getting outside a bit. I hope you have the opportunity to breathe in some fresh air today, too. If so, wouldn’t it be a fun day to pull out those white jeans and style them with a pretty rosy, pink top? That’s what I’m doing today. I’m styling white jeans for spring!
As I looked at my calendar today I realized that Easter is just over a week away. And I suppose most of us will be celebrating it a little differently this year. I plan on providing an entire post next week about how to celebrate Easter at home and ideas for outfits. But the white jeans outfit I’m sharing here will definitely make that list.
Let’s start with this dark rose Italian merino wool polo…because it’s available for 25% off just this one more day. And it’s almost sold out, but not quite (at least as I’m writing this post). Don’t let the “merino wool” throw you. This extremely lightweight sweater top is very breathable and thin, perfect for three seasons.
I’m wearing the Italian merino wool polo in dark rose, but it’s available in other pretty colors, too. In fact, I went ahead and ordered the heather grey, too, because I love this polo so much. I’m wearing a size medium. It fits close to the body, but not at all snug…lots of stretch and oh so soft.
Since you can see them best in the photo above, let’s talk accessories real quick. I kept my jewelry soft and minimal. I was trying to create a very soft look with this dark rose polo. I’m wearing this Kendra Scott Elisa multistrand necklace and Kendra Scott Veronica hoop earrings (25% off at Nordstrom). I purchased my sunglasses last summer and they’re no longer available in this taupe shade. But these are similar…and less expensive! Finally I added a thick leather belt since I wanted to tuck my polo.
I decided to purchase new white jeans this spring after wearing the same pair for three seasons. They had gotten dingy, the way white clothing sometimes does over time. I always size up in white jeans for the best fit and coverage. Talbots jeans just always work great for me, and these did not disappoint. I’m wearing an 8 in the high waist denim jeggings. But Talbots has good white denim in most of their jean fits and silhouettes. They’re a nice thickness and feature nude pocket linings, which I love.
This outfit right here, gals, is a good example of why you gotta, gotta, gotta have a blue denim jacket in your closet. No other jacket would create this classically casual vibe quite the same way. I’ve had my denim jacket for well over 20 years, so it’s a worthy investment – but not that expensive. Pennies per wear!
I apologize for my collar being a wadded up in all these photos. Ha! I need a stylist with me on these photo shoots, evidently.
Notice that my leather belt, tote bag and pointy toe slingbacks are not all the exact same color. That’s perfectly fine. In fact, the multiple shades of brown just add a sense of texture to the outfit. But I do try to keep the colors in the same undertone, and these are all brown with a warm honey undertone. Make sense? I’m loving these pointy toe slingbacks. I find them to fit true to size, comfortably. And they’re easy to walk in and feature a memory foam insole.
My pointy toe slingbacks also come in black, coral pink and ivory. I’m loving these closed toe shoes since I haven’t had a professional pedicure yet this season…and who knows when I’ll get one!
Psst! Here’s a great faux leather alternative to my leather tote bag.

In the same way that God is not taken by surprise with this COVID-19 pandemic, Jesus was not taken by surprise when He was betrayed, arrested, abused and crucified unjustly. His life was not taken from Him. He gave it willingly. Why? Because He loves us and He loves and obeyed the Father.
Jesus sacrificed His own life for mine and yours. He desperately wanted to reunite us with the God who created us. Ahh, what love! Let’s take time today to thank Him for willingly giving His all so that we could live eternall with Him. But let’s do more than speak our thanksgiving. Let’s live it with obedience, faith and gratitude.
And as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside, and on the way he said to them, “See, we are going up to Jerusalem. And the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified, and he will be raised on the third day.” ~ Matthew 20:17-19
Kay, you mention often how you size up when buying white jeans. I understand why you do this but wonder about the fit. I have tried this since you mentioned it before, but find that it’s not going to work for me because the waist in a bigger size gaps a lot and is very noticeable. I found great jeans at J Jill that fit in my normal size and don’t show any “errors”, so I usually get jeans there. How do you work with the waist in a larger size? Do you need to have them altered? I do sew, but jeans are rather tricky in the waistband! Belts don’t work in a larger size either because the waist bunches under a belt. I just wondered if these issues come up for you and how you handle it? Thanks for your input! While it’s colder here in NE Ohio, I’ve been getting outside every sunny or warmish day that we have. It REALLY helps!!
Hi Karen. I think it depends on how snug you wear your jeans to begin with. I buy my normal blue jeans from Talbots in a size 6, but all of my pants are size 8. So when I say I size up in white jeans I buy the size I wear in all other pants (and some jeans). So I think that is one factor. Mainly I just don’t want my white jeans to fit as snug as my darker denim in the legs and rear. So mine fit fine in the waist. They’re definitely not too big on me anywhere 🤪. But if you’ve found white jeans that fit you well, that’s the key in the end. Stick with those!
I was just reading about the flu of 1918! I can’t buy anything right now and there all of these sales too. 😩. But, I still wanted to thank you for your posts, your BFMD and your bright smile!!
Kay, you look absolutely fabulous in this outfit! I give you an A+++ on this one. Great BFMD! It’s hard for me to comprehend Jesus willingly paying the ultimate price for us/me, but I am very grateful. Enjoy your outside time!
Kay, I loved your post today!! My blue denim jacket is over 20 years old too! In fact, it may be the same as yours! I have never thought about wearing white jeans with a blue denim jacket!! I can’t wait to wear this combination, while sitting in my chair reading a book! But, I’ll know it looks good! Haha!! By the way, you look so great in yours!!
I like your posts because you are willing to admit that you have lows. I know God is in control of this entire Covid-19 situation but it is still okay to have concerns and apprehensions. Being grateful for all He has done and is doing for me helps me get through the day but some days I miss being with my friends and family so much it hurts.
White jeans have been a favorite of mine since I saw a picture with Kim Novak wearing white jeans and a purple tee shirt when I was 12. I love the color of this top. I think I’m about to make a move toward more rosy pink shades but I can’t wear knit tops. I have a small midriff with large bust which makes most knits look obscene on me.
The God on the mountain is still God in the valley. We’ll be fine whatever comes.
Hi Friend! You’re so cute!! I loved the story about your grandma, and also was kinda traumatized by it! LOL I also loved your comment of everyday assessing how you’re functioning today! It cracked me up and I picture you rating yourself! Well, I’d give you a 10! Keep up the good work girlfriend!
Ahhh, thanks Laurie! So good to hear from you today. You’re precious! Miss you 🥰!!
I ordered a coral pink tank top from Lands’ End the other day with exactly this kind of outfit in mind! I have a denim jacket that I can wear or a lighter blue chambray top. I’m already getting excited about wearing it out when life starts getting back to normal.
Great to hear, Alison! I bet that will be beautiful! some day…
