Hello sweet gal! And welcome to Dressed for My Day. We’re actually having lovely fall temperatures these days in southern Ohio. How about you? Have you pulled your sweaters out yet? I did pull out my sweaters Saturday, but I also added this one to my collection. I couldn’t resist this soft blush pink sweater! Today I’m sharing 4 ways to style my cashmere sweater in this trending color.

Blush Pink Sweater 4 Ways

In fact, I’m also wearing my Levi’s 721 High Rise Skinny Jeans in each of these looks, too. In fact, I almost called this post Cashmere and Levi’s 4 Ways. But I thought we’d focus on the trending color of the sweater instead. I do love these Levi’s 721 High Rise Skinny Jeans. They’re comfortable and run true to size. I’m wearing my usual size 30. You can also get them at Walmart and Macy’s, as well as other places.

My cashmere sweater is in the color light rosewood heather and features 3/4 length sleeves and what Talbots calls an Audrey neckline. Beginning today you can get one full-priced item for 40% off with code SMILE40. Also all tops are 30% off today, so save either way. I love, love, love Talbots’ Audrey cashmere sweaters and would definitely consider them a worthy investment for that savings. I’m wearing a size medium.

Soft & Subtle

The first look I created with my heathered blush pink sweater and Levi’s 721 High Rise Skinny Jeans is a soft and subtle one. Did I mention that my sweater is cashmere? Oh so lovely!

Soft & Subtle

To create this very soft and subtle look I simply accessorized my blush pink sweater and jeans with my classic 40-Hour Flats and feminine jewelry. I chose to wear a simple strand of pearls (similar) and pearl stud earrings (similar) with a classic gold bangle. My bangle is no longer available, but this one is an even prettier option.

My taupe Day Market Tote is not especially feminine, but it is classic and minimal. So I thought it filled out the look well. The key to this look was simply keeping my shoes and handbag in a soft neutral and wearing very pared down and feminine jewelry.

Smart & Classic

Let’s call this next look smart and classic. I think a neck scarf always makes a girl look smarter!

Classic and Smart

I used a bookending technique to style this look, wearing my dark chalky pink suede flats at the bottom of my outfit and this pretty rosewood print scarf at my neck. I could not possibly explain how I tied this scarf here, but I promise you I’ll share in an upcoming YouTube video. I made a little rosette! Oh, and doesn’t that goldtone coin stretch bracelet make me look like one smart cookie, too?

Smart & Classic

I think this look may be my favorite of the four. Yeah, I’m going to have to share that scarf tying trick with you. That really made this look.

Eclectic & Fun

I loosened up my rosewood print scarf for this next look that I’m calling eclectic and fun. It’s all about mixing up the textures and prints and colors. Hmm. Maybe this one is my new favorite!

Eclectic & Fun
cashmere sweater // Levi’s 721 High Rise Skinny Jeans // old corduroy blazer (similar in rosewood) // rosewood print scarf // goldtone coin stretch bracelet // classic gold hoops // leopard print flats // similar satchel bag (or on Amazon)

I love mixing print with leopard print. And simply pairing these Target favorite leopard print flats with a pretty print scarf is an easy way to pull off this styling trick. But this outfit also includes a mixture of textures: denim, cashmere, corduroy and leather. And the tonal play between the red blazer (similar in rosewood), the rosy pink sweater and the rosewood print scarf is so on trend.

Because I had so much going on with the prints, the textures and the rosy hues, I kept my jewelry ultra pared down. I simply wore my goldtone coin stretch bracelet and my classic gold hoops. My Fossil satchel is oh so many years old, but this Rachel is very similar. Fossil makes great bags. If you prefer shopping Amazon, you can get it here, too.

Bold & Sassy

For my final look I stepped it up a notch…or four! And this whole bold and sassy look hinges on this amazing multi strand faux pearl and goldtone coin necklace. It’s even more stunning in person.

Bold & Sassy

This simple but stunning outfit is a great example of the Accessorize to Maximize style formula. Don’t you think? That one necklace is so bold and beautiful that it appears that it does all the work.

But really everything else in the outfit plays a crucial supporting role. Each piece, from the simple pearl stud earrings (similar) to the classic nude heel pumps, was intentionally chosen for its timeless quality and understated elegance.

I do love this outfit. But honestly, it’s probably the one I’m least likely to wear, simply because I don’t frequently have the occasion. But I’m thinking next date night… Yep, this is definitely a possibility. You can’t own a necklace like that and not wear it!

By the way, I think that necklace will also look stunning with a v-neck sweater. I’m eager to try it out.

Blessed for My Day

Many of Jesus’ words were hard. Hard to understand, hard to comprehend, hard to wrap our brains around. But just because they were hard doesn’t give us reason to ignore them. Instead, we must wrestle with them, asking Him to give us insight with time and humility when that insight doesn’t come.

Jesus told the man he had healed at the pool to go and sin no more so that nothing worse would happen to him. Does that mean all illness or physical brokenness is due to sin? Probably not. In fact, we know of another time when Jesus specifically said sin did not cause a man’s blindness. So maybe in this particular case the man’s sin did cause his illness. Jesus would have known, and since He issued this particular warning it seems probable. One thing we do know, sin always has consequences. Whether we see the rotten fruit of it immediately or in our body or not until much later, sin always leads to “worse things.”

Now the man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, as there was a crowd in the place. Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse may happen to you.”  ~ John 5:13-14

  1. These are beautiful looks! I love the classic look of the Audrey sweater. Have you ever tried JCrew’s Teddie sweater? I have a couple of those and love them. They aren’t cashmere but they have a similar look. Thanks for the inspiration. You always do such a great job of presenting different but accessible looks. I find a lot of inspiration from your work. Thanks!

  2. Thanks Kay for the daily inspirations – both biblical and dressed for my day. Also, so happy to see your previous hair style back! It looks soooo good on you. Out of the four looks for today I would most likely wear the cashmere with just the neck scarf. Looking forward to your future posts.

  3. Hi Kay…..as I started reading and looking at your photos, I kept saying this is my favorite then I got to the last photo/option and this is My FAVORITE! Love the pearls from Chico’s (wish they weren’t so pricey) and the nude heels. I love this look.

    Blessings,

  4. New follower. Found you through Robin at Faith and Flour on you tube. Enjoying all your styles, tips and inspirations.

  5. Great post, Kay! I would love to see you do a post like this with a khaki safari jacket. I bought one from Talbots at the end of the season, so I haven’t worn it yet. Still too warm here for a jacket. It’s not the same style as the one they have this year. Mine has a band collar, synched waist, tortoise shell buttons, and front patch pockets. I would be wearing it with jeans. Thanks for your hard work and the fun!

  6. Good morning Kay. I love the look with the scarf. I love to wear scarves in the fall and winter, sometimes it just makes the outfit. Since pink is my favorite color this sweater is a win for me💕

  7. Such wonderful looks with a beautiful pink sweater. Can’t wait until things open up in Michigan so that I have somewhere to wear the looks.

  8. Love the looks you presented today but I am really loving the look with the tied scarf the most! Yes, please share how you tied the scarf around your neck! Very Classy!!

  9. I agree with everyone that all these looks are wonderful. Pink is your color, for sure! Yes, please share how to tie the scarf. Also, I wear those same Levi’s. What wash are they, please? Hoping to get out sooner rather than later! Have a great day!

  10. While all four looks are great, the first simple one is my favorite. For me, it really let’s the beautiful color of your sweater take center stage. We are finally having fall temps, with the mornings being nice and cool, then the afternoons being warmer. Today is actually to warm because it’s in the low 80’s. I hope that you’ve had a great day!

    1. Hi Terry. No, I’m sorry to say I don’t. I actually bought them last winter at a Levi’s Outlet store, so they could be anything.
