Happy Friday, sweet gals! Today I’m sharing all the weekend vibes with a simple, laid back style and some snazzy new sneakers. My new CARIUMA sneakers are definitely the star of this show. After all, sneakers oughta be fun! Right?
Recently CARIUMA, a Brazilian based sneaker brand, reached out to me offering a pair of their handcrafted sneakers in exchange for my honest opinion about them. I was impressed with CARIUMA’S dedication to environmental consciousness and ethical manufacturing. For instance, they evidently take great care to ensure that their craftsmen earn fair wages and experience safe working conditions. As a consumer, that’s important to me. You can learn more about CARIUMA’S passion for environmental and manufacturing ethics here.
But I also love that CARIUMA’S sneakers combine old-style charm and modern vibes for a truly fun, contemporary look. And still, I’ve found their sneakers to be amazingly comfortable, too.
You might be surprised to discover that CARIUMA also offers free US shipping and free returns. You can’t beat that. And when my sneakers arrived they were in snazzy bright green packaging (reminiscent of the Rio rain forest) that is 100% recycleable. Smart.
But enough about shipping and boxes and postage; let’s talk about these sneakers.
While CARIUMA produces contemporary classic sneakers in canvas, suede and leather, I chose to order the funnest pair I could find. I’m sporting the CATIBA low (they make high tops, too!) in metallic silver and white leather. Yeah, that’s how I roll.
I love wearing soft, neutral shades in easy-going fabrics on the weekends. Not only is this outfit comfy and easy to wear; it’s also soft on the eyes, gentle and chic. So these CATIBA metallic silver and white leather sneakers add just a lovely touch of whimsy.
Besides looking sharp as all get out, these sneakers were comfortable right out of the box. They came with two pairs of laces (I removed the silver metallic laces in favor of the classic white ones) and they feature a lightweight memory foam insole.
I should let you know that these sneakers are a little roomy on my slightly narrow feet, even with my favorite no-show socks (which are very thin). But otherwise, I found them to be true to size. I have no problems wearing them as they are. But if I’m going to wear them for a long stretch of time, I’ll probably need to wear thicker socks. By the way, all of my sneakers are roomy on my feet. So there’s that.
I do want to mention this sweet, off-duty plush yarn hoodie from Caslon. Mine is adobe pink, but it also comes in black. This thing is amazingly soft and luscious. Kinda like a Barefoot Dreams cardigan, but a little lighter and a fraction of the price. I’m wearing a small, so go with your lower size.
Shop the Look
I’ve prepared a shopping widget for you below, but you can also shop through all the links in the post. I do make a small profit when you purchase anything through them, but at no additional cost to you. Plus, I always look for the lowest prices for you!

I’m thankful to CARIUMA for gifting me the sneakers I’ve shared with you today. But it’s important to me that you know all opinions expressed here are genuine. Thanks so much for supporting the brands that support Dressed for My Day! And thanks for dropping in today.

Blessed for My Day
I learned a number of years ago that we all encounter a few fools in this life. That may sound harsh, but it’s reality. The book of Proverbs teaches us that a fool is a person who refuses to acknowledge God and chooses his or her own way in life instead. This person is beyond reproof and will not listen to reason. He or she is characteristically hot-headed, self-consumed, unreasonable and contentious.
The struggle comes when we are in a situation where the fool is someone we must, out of necessity, deal with on a regular basis. The fool could be your employer, your brother-in-law, your next door neighbor, your child’s teacher. That relationship can make life hard. But the Bible doesn’t leave us without resource.
If you’re struggling with a fool, I’d like to suggest a book that proved beneficial to me in the past. Jan Silvious’ Foolproofing Your Life shares how to deal effectively with the most difficult people in your life…from a biblical standpoint.
Whoever corrects a scoffer gets himself abuse,
and he who reproves a wicked man incurs injury.
Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you;
reprove a wise man, and he will love you. ~ Proverbs 9:7-8
First of all, I’m just loving your new haircut!! Looks so chic! And those snazzy looking sneakers, love them! All over great looking casual outfit! How are you adjusting to your new location? And how about getting to experience the fall season, beautiful, right? Love your message on “fools”…..fortunately I don’t really have to deal with many, but have come across a few thought nuts! Enjoy your day!
Thanks so much Gina. I’m enjoying my hair. So easy! We’re absolutely loving Cincinnati, our neighborhood and our church. We are thrilled to be here and feel so very blessed.
We’re still waiting on fall to arrive. And we hear it’s not going to be stellar simply because this past month has been so dry and hot. So we’ll see. But I know that eventually cooler temps will arrive (I think mid week next week!!!) and we’ll certainly enjoy that.
Kay, I love your outfit! The sneakers are so cool. If my feet weren’t so narrow, I would give them a try, for sure. I’m sorry that you got so sunburned yesterday. That is no fun ??! We have a 3 1/2 hr drive ahead of us. Larry has pneumonia in his right lung, so I suspect he will be really glad to get home. Have a great day!
Oh, I’m so sorry to hear your husband has peneumonia. That’s rough! Take care of him!!
Thank you Kay! It’s one of the issues he develops due to his weak immune system from the cancer and oral chemo. I’m praying we caught it early enough so that he doesn’t end up in the hospital again. Momma Moose (my nickname) is on high alert.
Let’s talk about your hair!!!! Love, Love, Love the cut on you!! So much more becoming on you. Super cute.
Thank you, Holly. I’m definitely enjoying the new style!
Thanks for your post and especially for Blessed for My Day! Can’t wait to hear how you like Downton Abbey. I liked most of it and the wardrobes are drool worthy. The black and white dress at the end even got a thumbs up comment from my husband! Ha! Glad you like your new area but I’m sure they are missing you both in Arizona. Thanks again for all you do – it brings joy to lots of ladies!
Ahh, that’s so encouraging to me, Merri Lynn. Thanks so much. As it ends up, we decided to see Downton Abbey next Tuesday now since that’s a cheaper showing. But I’ll definitely let you know what I think. I’m really expecting to enjoy it!
Love your shoes and everything in this post! LOVE your haircut as well….takes several years off of you, honestly. Much more modern and updated look. Keep it! Ha! Didn’t receive your email this morning so had to go directly to your blog. Don’t think that’s ever happened before. Anyway….have a blessed day and a wonderful weekend.
Hi Sondra. Check your spam because Mailchimp says it went to you. So sorry about that. ?
Hi Kay, I loved your blog today, it is exactly how I like to dress. My lifestyle is casual almost everyday since retirement. YAY! I have been shopping for new sneakers and the silver and white leather Cariuma may be the ones…BTW, your new hair style is very youthful, love it.
Thanks so much Pamela. They are great sneakers, really. Wore them all day so comfortably. And they have several cute designs to choose from. Thanks for reading!
I haven’t commented lately. I must tell you how much I love your new hair style. Very becoming on you. Also, my husband and I just saw Downton Abbey yesterday afternoon. It was wonderful to see all the characters and the house again. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed it except for one story line, and you’ll know what I mean when you see it.
Hi Patt. Thanks for sharing. We ended up waiting to see it next Tuesday now when we can go for half price. Hahaha! But good to hear you both enjoyed it. ?
I love your hair! I also so appreciate your devotionals. They always speak to my heart. Thank you!
Thanks for letting me know, Virginia! Bless you!
How did you know I am dealing with a new fool at work? I have been hoping for a job transfer to get a way from him. He is everything you described above plus prideful, condescending, arrogant and passive aggressive in his behaviors. You certainly blessed my day with scripture assistance and the book suggestion. BTW Love the new cut Very young and fresh.
Honestly, Karen, as I was typing that up last night I just knew I was writing for someone. I’m glad it blessed you. ?
Wow! You look amazing with your new haircut – took years and years off of you! So stylish – love it.
Thanks so much Cecilia!! I’m glad you gals all like it. I do too! ?
