Hi gals! I have a sharp looking casual summer work style for you today. While I work from a home office, this is the sort of outfit I often wear to church or to a conference of some sort. But really the individual pieces of this classic style are versatile and beautiful for so many different occasions.

Navy is one of my chosen wardrobe neutrals, and I’m a sucker for navy and white.

I topped this casual summer work look with my classic white jean jacket, but a simple cardigan or blazer would also keep the office chill off.

Navy t-shirt

I like this navy t-shirt because it feels polished and has a brushed look to it, but it’s sold out. However, I found this one and this one to serve as alternatives. And I’ve had my eye on these two-pack v-neck tees from Amazon. Anybody tried them? They look good to me!

Navy and white striped wide leg crop pants

Really these navy and white belted wide leg crop pants are the star of the show here. These soft, lightweight pants are fluid and comfortable. The tie belt is attached, so you can’t change it out for another belt. But it presents a neat and easy front to the pants.

I’m wearing a size 8 in the pants, so they run true to size. And these easy to mix and match pants are reduced to less than $50. But sizes are going.

leather tote and wedge sandals

I added my leather wedge sandals and leather tote to this look. I’m a sucker for blue or navy with brown leather. I think the leather accessories keep the look “grounded” and more casual. Of course you could wear lower heeled or flat sandals with this ensemble, too.

By the way, these amazingly comfortable wedge sandals are now reduced to less than $50.

I kept my jewelry simple and classic. I’m wearing my usual gold hoop earrings and gold bangle. Within the collar I’m wearing my palm necklace and to add interest to the solid navy top, I added my adjustable olive necklace.

This casual summer work style is easy to duplicate with tees and accessories in your closet. But I have to say, these navy and white wide leg crop pants cinch the deal!

Blessed for My Day

Are you asking God to do the seemingly impossible? Why not? Nothing is impossible for God. Today let’s take time out to carry our biggest challenges, heaviest concerns and most impossible requests to God.

Approach God with praise. Recount His characteristics, His ways and the promises of His Word. Spend sufficient time reflecting on how big and powerful our God is. Then verbally lay your “big thing” in the hands of the One who created the heavens and the earth with but a word. Finally, affirm your faith in God’s goodness, love and involvement in your life.

“Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.” ~ Jeremiah 32:17

xoxo, Kay

  1. I also like the blue/navy and tan combo! And don’t give another worry to getting posts out late. Moving is stressful and I would hope your followers would understand!

  2. Oh my goodness! This outfit has “ME” written all over it! This is perfect for my position at the university!

    1. Great!! I think probably most working gals are in environments where things like this work, maybe minus the heels if preferred. I’m sure I have a few readers who dress more business-like, but not many. I’m so glad you enjoyed the post. ?

  3. I love this outfit and you look beautiful wearing it. I actually have some blue and white seersucker pants from a few years ago and have always struggled with what to wear with them. I have similar things right now to duplicate this look. Thanks Kay for ALL of your wonderful advice, ideas and classic style! Don’t stress yourself too much these days. We aren’t going anywhere and only want you to have a stress free move but with you in one piece after it’s over! Ha!

    1. Thanks so much Sondra. I was chatting with Susanne from Thompson Hill this morning and she gave me several good suggestions about scaling back for just a few weeks. I may have to go to just three or four posts a week for awhile or bring back some previous posts. Thanks so much for understanding. I’m sure everyone does. Im just hard on myself! ?

  4. Kay, You look so nice in this very classic navy and white outfit! I also like this color combo. With all that you have going on, receiving your email any time of the day is just fine. I totally understand! If I needed to add tops to my closet, I would try the 2 pack from Amazon. Great BFMD! Blessings!

  5. Hi Kay! I’m fairly new to your blog. I honestly haven’t cared for wide leg crop pants….. until today!! You make them look SO classy, and chic! I love the entire outfit. I’m now going to try this look.
Thank you for inspiring me! I’m looking forward to your NSale posts. Have a wonderful day!

    1. Welcome to Dressed for My Day, Julie!! Thanks so much. I’m glad you’re willing to try the look now. I think the key is wearing a close fitting top to give balance. Good luck with it! ?

  6. Great outfit today Kay. BTW, thanks for your thoughts of the day. Yesterday’s was perfect for my daughter.

    1. Oh I’m so glad to hear that. I really want those to resonate with someone. And usually they’re the things God is teaching me or reminding me of myself. ?

  7. Hi Kay,
Such a cute outfit and I love how you styled it. Navy is one of my ‘go to’ colors and I do love the basic navy/white combination. I’ve been in Arizona this week on business and will be returning for two months. I need to quickly invest in some more lightweight tops! Actually, the weather was nice (spent the week in Show Low, Holbrook and Winslow) and I love the cool morning air. It will be fun to spend time in a new area. Have a wonderful day!

  8. Fabulous Blessed for My Day! Don’t worry about us while you are handling your move. We totally understand and are not going anywhere.

    1. Thanks so Bev. You gals are very gracious. I’m just hard on myself. But I probably will make some adjustments soon. ?

  9. This looks fantastic! Was never a fan of the wide leg crop pants but you ROCK IT! So appreciative of you sharing your life with us.

    Have a blessed day!

  10. Love this look! We recently sold our home of 31 years and I hope I never have to move again! Selling and buying a house and moving are not for the faint of heart! But God was with us every step of the way! It was so fun to see and experience those “God moments” throughout the whole exhausting process. Don’t put added pressure on yourself. If you need to take a break from your blog while you move, then do it ?? Of course we will miss you, but love you and what you do, so we’re not going anywhere. Blessings!

  11. I am glad you have a very positive attitude with everything that is happening to you and your husband! Please continue with this awesome attitude and take it one day at a time! I think it’s great advice to not post for a while as you are in the process of moving, then adjusting to a new home and new state!! Take care!!!
