Happy weekend, gals! Did you have a nice Valentine’s Day? I hope you were shown a little love. I enjoyed spending the day with my parents, the first people to love me. #awww. On this Friday I thought we’d revisit the trending utility look with a denim boilersuit…2 ways.

I got mixed reactions when I showed the green boilersuit in this post, but even those of you who said you probably wouldn’t wear one admitted that you liked the look. I happen to be a fan, but I totally understand that this piece is not for everyone.

I have fairly average proportions – neither long or short in the torso. So I found the shoulder to crouch length in this denim boilersuit to be comfortable and accommodating. I’m not really sure how it would work on someone with a long torso, but I think it’s definitely worth a try.

This jumpsuit is actually very comfortable. And I love that you can dress it up or down by simply switching out your shoes and accessories.

My silky scarf is no longer available, but this one is just as colorful and pretty. And it’s 40% off with code SOSWEET. And my leopard print foldover clutch (one of my favorite purchases!!) is still available.

My suede pumps are also still available and they’re 40% off with code SOSWEET. But really any pretty pump or sandal would look great with this denim boilersuit. If I hadn’t carried my leopard print bag, I would definitely have worn my leopard print block heels or flats.

Next I decided to change things up by slipping on my Superga Cotu canvas sneakers. I’m enjoying these classic sneakers, but they do run a little large. So maybe size down. Or I’m just generally wearing mine with socks.

Notice I also rolled up a cuff at the bottom of my pants. Wouldn’t it be cute to roll up the cuffs and wear some cute sandals with this boilersuit later in the summer?

I’ve had my Fossil crossbody bag for several years, but I believe this one is the newer version of the same model. It’s available in a similar shade or other trending colors.

Finally, I just added a simple bandana to complete these ultra casual look. But really, the possibilities are endless with this boilersuit.

Blessed for My Day

How diligently are you seeking wisdom? Like it’s finer than gold? Worthy of the pursuit? Wisdom is available to all of us, but, unlike so many other blessings, it requires something on our part. We must ask God for wisdom, seek it and hold onto it. We must treasure it.

What are some ways we can go about seeking wisdom? Hang around wise and godly people, read your Bible, memorize and meditate on Scripture and, again, ask God for wisdom. I’ve also found that wisdom only comes when we wait for it rather than rushing in and when we keep our mouths closed more than we open them!

My son, if you will receive my words
And treasure my commandments within you,
Make your ear attentive to wisdom,
Incline your heart to understanding;
For if you cry for discernment,
Lift your voice for understanding;
If you seek her as silver
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Then you will discern the fear of the Lord
And discover the knowledge of God.
For the Lord gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. ~ Proverbs 2:1-6

  1. This looks great on you!! Not sure I’m brave enough to try it. My seriously long torso would be a problem, I’m afraid. Also, lots of trouble to go to the restroom when you go as frequently as I do! Ha! I’m so glad you are having fun with your parents! Have a great beach walking day!!! Michelle

  2. Hi Kay,
    From the shopping widget I liked the looks of the Lands End jumper best. I like the denim finish and the style looks really nice, clean and simple, not too many pockets, so I clicked over. It has just 2 reviews and they are both negative. What they mention are some of my concerns about even trying one on. This is a trend I just can’t get behind. I don’t think it’s very flattering for our feminine bodies. It makes me think of a mechanic in a garage….
    I am jealous of you getting all that delicious shrimp! There’s no such thing as too much of that in my book! ?

  3. Thank you for BFMD! It’s exactly what I needed to hear today. The jumpsuit looks great on you but it’s not for me. Thank you for showing us the trends and how to wear. I really like the posts where you show us more than one way to wear an item! Enjoy your time with your parents!

  4. It’s funny you call this a boiler suit. Both my mom and step mom went to Purdue University in Indiana and they were the boiler makers. We always laugh about that!!
    And I love seeing your parents on your IG stories….it’s wonderful you still have them around. Just like with my mom!
    You look fabulous in this Kay!!
    Have a great weekend,
    XOXO
