While I don’t have as many opportunities to wear dresses these days, I confess I love the idea of wearing them. I love the way a beautiful dress makes you feel and look so feminine. So I never pass up the opportunity to slip on a dress when I’m invited to a wedding or other semi-formal occasion. If you like dresses as much as I do, I think you’ll love this teal fall floral dress.
I’ll admit, I seem to favor these jersey knit ruched dresses. But ladies, they’re just so universally flattering! You need to know that I don’t have an exceptionally defined waistline. However, the ruching along the middle of this dress creates a shapely silhouette and draws the eyes accordingly.
A body skimming dress like this one definitely requires me to wear the appropriate shapewear. I prefer to wear a high-waisted, mid-thigh short like this high power short by Spanx.
This fall floral dress has so many pretty colors in it, so I decided to accessorize simply with these nude microsuede sling backs from Target. These are such a great find! I’d been looking at them online and even linking to them, but I hadn’t tried them until just recently. I needed some new nude heels, but didn’t want to spend a lot of money on them. These fit the bill perfectly. And they’re comfortable and stylish.
I carried my Michael Kors truffle colored satchel. I’m linking to some other beautiful neutral toned satchels in the shopping widget below of lower price ranges.
While I think the solid black dress I featured last week is elegant and powerful, the colors in this fall floral dress make it distinctly feminine and pretty. I love how these earrings, draw out the deep fuchsia flowers from the sea of teal.
My favorite thing about this dress? How comfortable it is! You gals know, comfort is very important to me. As we were driving home from shooting these photos, I remember thinking how this dress felt so comfortable that I wasn’t even in a hurry to take it off. Now that’s comfortable!
This is the kind of dress I can easily wear to church, a wedding or shower, the office or a concert, recital or anniversary celebration. The lightweight fabric makes it appropriate and wearable for three seasons easily. And the three-quarter length poet sleeves are flattering on any woman. I do think a pretty bracelet like this filigree cuff would be pretty with it, too.

Blessed for My Day
Have you noticed how your thoughts have such power on your disposition? And while our words are certainly a reflection of our inner thoughts, the words we give air to can also direct our thoughts and reinforce them. We speak what we think, but the more we speak it, the more we think it! That’s why it’s so important to diligently guard both the words we speak and the ones we meditate on. Today let’s choose to run both by the Lord. Let’s ask Him to stop us in our tracks when we allow our thoughts to run in a dangerous direction. And let’s give Him permission to shut us down when our words do not honor Him or express trust in Him.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. ~ Psalm 19:14

Yeah, it really is a winner. Thanks for reading, Jodie!
I love that dress on you. I have 3 rushed dresses and for the same reason you like yours! Target is where I get extra shoes too because they look nice, fit well and are really affordable. I like your earrings and the bracelet is awesome & the price is a “steal” ! You should get it! I have a “Wonder Woman” bracelet that I wear all the time. It is my “Power Bracelet” LOL. Have fun getting dressed up and being a girl! You’re the best Kay!
Ahh, well we are definitely likeminded! Thanks for the encouragement and kind words.
Hi there, I often find with this brand (the dress) and fabric type that I have to size up. Can you tell us what size dress you’re wearing? Many thanks!
Hi Lynn, Yes, I’m sorry I forgot to do that. I’m wearing an 8, which is my normal size in a dress. But you’re right. These dresses do run snug. This one felt fine on me, but if you wear two sizes in dresses, I’d probably go with the higher one. Hope that helps.
Floral dresses are definitely in this fall! Saw them in several stores! This one is very pretty & flattering on you, Kay! I agree about wearing ruching items…chose a ruched top for my class reunion & got several compliments! Thanks for your fashion expertise…& the devotions are always appreciated!
Thanks, Anita. I saw the photos from your reunion, and you did look great! Way to rock a class reunion!
