Happy Friday! It’s time to run through my daily outfits for the week. I’m not even going to try to get them in order this week. I’m so discombobulated from the holiday weekend and shooting videos on Monday instead of Saturday that I don’t even know what day it is right now, much less what I wore two days ago. Ha! But I do indeed have outfits to show you.

Sizing Information
Just for reference, I’m 5’8″ and weigh about 155. I generally wear a size 8 or medium in dresses, tops, jackets and pants (or 29 or 30 in jeans), so that’s what I’m wearing in these looks unless I tell you otherwise. That way you can assume everything I show you is true to size unless I alert you to sizing up or down. I wear a size 9.5 shoe and, again, I’ll just let you know if I sized up or down in a shoe, otherwise it’s true to size.
Outfit #1
How’d you like that title? Outfit #1. Well, I actually do know I wore this last Friday because that’s when we took these photos at Nordstrom for my #NSale coverage. But then I forgot to take a mirror selfie. So you have to check out my outfit with all the Nordstrom hoopla to boot. Hehehe.
I loved the way this combination of soft neutrals and pastel blue came together. To me this is the epitome of an easy summer outfit. By the way, my drawcord waist crop pants are back in stock. And everything else here is still available or restocked also. I’m wearing my true size medium in the pants, but I sized down to a small in this twist neck cotton blend top.

Outfit #2
Well, now that I think about it, I know what day this was, too. We were supposed to shoot videos Saturday. But I just wasn’t feeling it. I needed a day to just be domestic. I didn’t put any makeup on, but I baked a pie and did odds and ends around the house. I felt comfortable and polished (even sans makeup) in my Eileen Fisher separates. And yes, I wore an apron when I baked. I always do.
This summer I’m really enjoying wearing neutrals. I do have days when I wear color…as you’ll see. But I’m just feeling the neutrals. They make me happy. And I have a feeling that trend is going to carry into fall and winter for me, too. We’ll see. What about you? What colors are you wearing this summer? Outfit #3
Of course this was the 4th of July. I didn’t get to go to church Sunday due to car issues. But I watched my husband’s sermon on YouTube (it was a good one!). We just had a very relaxed day hanging out at home. So denim shorts and a patriotic tee seemed like the way to go. The tee is from a couple of years ago, but I have some similar options in the shopping widget below.
Outfit #4
Here’s where I get a little fuzzy on when I wore what. But who cares? I enjoyed pulling this pair of floral crops from the back of my closet on this day. I just loved wearing these last year and decided it was time to give them a whirl again. I featured them in this video on How to Style Colorful Prints.
My favorite way to wear these colorful print crops is with a simple white tee. And I liked that this Henley tee adds just a bit of detailing to the look. By the way, my Henley tee is still available and pretty well stocked in the butter cookie yellow and almond, too.

I guess I enjoyed wearing a little color in the previous outfit, so I wore more. And I really like combining blue and green. I think both of those colors are earthy but also peaceful and pretty.
These sagebush green wide leg crop chinos have become fast favorites. They feel great on. And I appreciate that the “wide leg” is not quite as wide as some, creating a more streamlined look and not so A shaped. Oh, and it looks like they’re 25% off today. And the embroidery chambray shirt is lightweight and pretty, too. Alas, it does not appear to be marked down. Phooey.
Outfit #6
And then I was back to neutrals! Ha! I do know I wore this outfit out to dinner with friends one night. It was a casual affair, but I was happy for an opportunity to dress up a little at least. And I love wearing these linen straight leg crops. They’re just as comfortable as my elastic waist band linen pants, but they look a little more polished because of the button and zipper fly. They fit true to size.
By the way, I keep getting inquiries about my cream colored belt. I finally remembered that I bought it at Loft. They don’t have this one anymore, but I found this braided belt in the same light pebble color. It works perfectly with flax or cream colored pants and jeans.

This is why I’m confused with when I wore what this week. I have this extra outfit in here somehow. Who knows! Anyhow I do know I wore these black linen lantern pants and almond Henley tee one day. Maybe before changing into the outfit above?? Hmm, no. My hair doesn’t look the same. Why does this haunt me so? Ha!
Anyhoo! I would have just left this outfit out of the line up, but I love it so much I couldn’t do that. I really like the easy combination of black and beige. here. And I also wanted you to see these pretty necklaces from Rachelyn. I’m wearing the fresh water pearl and conch necklace set. They have to be purchased separately, but I love the combo. Yesterday I wore my Eileen Fisher seersucker linen lantern pants (similar in more sizes and colors) and a simple black tank. I just didn’t care that the straps of my new Spanx Bra-llelujah!® Lightly Lined Racerback Bra showed a little in the back. Y’all! This is the most comfortable underwire bra I’ve ever put on. And I’m constantly needing a racerback bra it seems in the summer (but not on this day evidently!). It is so soft, not binding at all. I threw my old racerback away immediately! Forgive me for going on and on about a bra, but I just received it last week and want to wear it everyday.

Blessed for My Day
As I was writing my Bible study about Joseph, I came across the story of a seminary professor who coined the term “big godder.” He said he could tell by hearing one of his former students preach just once whether he was a big godder or a little godder. He claimed that bigger godders are those who preach a big God, one who is able, involved in our lives and trustworthy. I love this concept and it makes me pause and think.
Are you a big godder? Do you believe that our God is indeed deeply and intricately involved in your life? Do you believe that He is mighty and big and powerful? Do you believe that He is consistently doing the “impossible,” changing the course of events, moving in ways that we cannot imagine and always in control? And do you believe that He is good, trustworthy and loving? Then let’s live as though we indeed have a big God today.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. ~ Ephesians 3:20-21

I like outfit 4 with the Flowered pants and the outfit with the linen straight leg pants from Talbots. I have these pants and love them! Still do not care for the lantern pants. Don’t know what the hoopla is about them. Sorry. Of course like to be BFMD.

I loved those outfits. Sad to say, as I’m packing to go see my son in FL, I realized I hardly have any fun clothes. I’ve worked in a Corporate office for years and I have loads of suits and dresses. Now that I’m working a remote job (I got fired from the Corporate job because I had the audacity to get cancer and end up in the hospital.) and writing I don’t feel like suiting up every day but do get dressed although its usually jeans and a Tshirt (I seem to have those too, but no in-betweens). Once our money situation gets more stable I’ll need to go shopping. (I’m still fighting tooth and nail to get my unemployment from last year and the beginning of this year too.)
Through all of this, God has sustained us. There’s been money to pay rent, get groceries and pay the bills. I suddenly have to tune to write which I am called to do. So many miracles and blessings have happened. I pray outrageous prayers because I serve a big God and he rejoices over me with singing. I’m definately a big Godder.
Hi Pamela, I’m so sorry to hear of your recent struggles. Bless you. But thank you for sharing your testimony of God’s presence and work through your ordeal. God is good. I do hope you are able to feel settled again soon. My husband and I went through a similar struggle a few years ago. We never felt God’s presence more deeply than through that time. But it did take a while to really feel settled and established again. I know you will get there, too.

So happy I found your blog! As a recent retiree I am in the process of changing out my wardrobe to a more casual style. Your fashion style and tips are spot on and help keep me focused when selecting items to add into my closet.
Kay, I had to laugh when I saw the outfit you wore on your day for being domestic. The reason I laughed is because of how different your outfit is from what I wear. My domestic days includes me checking trail cameras, putting out corn, and who knows what else outside, so I do not need to wear any of my good clothes. And of course, we are out in a VERY rural area, live on a dirt road, and have more woods than neighbors. You asked what colors we are enjoying wearing this summer. I find myself reaching for tops in my signature colors, more than anything else, even when I’m wearing one of my yard tee’s. I hope that you and James had a great adventure yesterday! Oh, I had commented on Instagram that I would not be shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year. The reason for that is, all of my fall/winter clothes are packed away in the attic, so I can’t inventory what I really need. And chances are that I don’t REALLY NEED anything.
