Hello girlfriends! I hope you’re looking at a wonderful weekend and that you feel good about the week we just closed the books on. Today I’m simply sharing with you how I really dressed for my day. Let’s look in my dirty mirror! (Sorry…)
Unfortunately I’ve been under the weather the last few days of this week, so I didn’t really “get dressed” for those days. But here are the outfits from the earlier part of the week.
Sunday – Morning Church & Evening Small Group
It was funny. When I arrived at church Sunday morning there were no fewer than five other women wearing solid black, and three of us were wearing black dresses very similar to mine. This dress is – I kid you not – at least 18 years old. It’s a wonderful matte jersey that just won’t die. And I love wearing it. It’s from Land’s End and I found this one that is similar as well as this one. Both of these classic Land’s End dresses are marked down 40% with code BRISK. But it looks like that offer ends Saturday midnight.
My slingbacks are also old, but here are some similar nude slingbacks with a low heel. Oh, and here’s a nice pair at Kohl’s.
My tortoise shell necklace is a couple of years old, but tortoise shell is very in right now. I found this petty Tort Layering Necklace at Talbot’s, where you can still take 25% off your purchase. They also have this chunkier one. And J.Crew Factory has this offering.
Finally, my Michael Kors handbag is sold out, but there is this medium leather satchel and this one that are both marked down considerably. And if you prefer a less pricey handbag but in the same neutral shade, you could consider this faux leather handbag from Sole Society.
Sunday evening I wore my red weekend chinos with this rounded v-neck tee, which is still available at Nordstrom. I’m wearing a small. Talbots has these chinos and these that are similar to mine.
I carried my Fossil crossbody bag and wore my denim espadrilles. Here’s link to some other espadrilles, if you’re interested.
Monday – Running Errands and Working at Home
Monday I got out and about a little, so I decided to put on a skirt. I wore my button front denim skirt and my Lucky Brand sandwash button up shirt. I carried my same Fossil crossbody and slipped on my Sam Edelman leopard print flats. I’ve included some other leopard print shoe options in the shopping widget below.
Tuesday – Work from Home
Tuesday I worked from home in my Talbots chinos and this elephant graphic t-shirt from Target. You definitely need to size up for the t-shirt. I’m wearing a large. I think it’s a junior shirt, actually.
When I stepped out to get the mail and such, I put on my Teva Freewheel Sneakers.
Wednesday – Work from Home & Run Errands
I just kinda decided I was done with shorts this week, even though the temps outside are still quite warm. I’m sure I’ll put them on again. But I figure I can be just as cool in my house in these chinos and cropped jeans as I can be in shorts.
So Wednesday I wore my cropped flare cut jeans with another t-shirt I picked up at Target recently. This t-shirt is also a junior size, but I’m able to wear a medium in it. It’s not made by the same brand as the elephant tee.
Later in the evening I stepped out for a little bit and added my Lucky Brand utility jacket. I’m loving adding this jacket to so many outfits. They’re running low in sizes in the stone grey, but still have most sizes in the dark olive, which is what I’m wearing. It’s almost half price, so I don’t expect this jacket to be around much longer.
So that’s it for what I wore this week. Right now I’m wearing that same Coca-Cola t-shirt and my dark grey Z by Zella joggers. I’m feeling pretty puny, and I’m ready to go back to my sofa and lie down!

So that’s how I dressed this week. Honestly, I’m ready for some cooler temps. I start getting really frustrated during this time of year when you’re yearning to wear fall clothes, you’re tired of summer clothes, and you’re stuck in the in between clothes. What about you?
Well, anyhow we’ll make the best of it and try to at least add some interesting accessories and fall colors, huh. You gals have a great weekend!
Blessed for My Day
Today I hope and pray that you feel the cleansing power of grace. I pray that you are not carrying the burden of needless guilt or regrets. That you have fully appropriated the grace of God through the blood of Jesus Christ. Sister, there is no mistake, no sin that cannot be forgiven. Jesus died for that thing, too. And those regrets? Those would’a, should’a, could’as? You need to let those go, too. We have a redeemer who specializes in making all things new. Yes, there may be somethings lost because of choices made. But God can still redeem the time, restore the value, revive what feels dead and restore that which was taken. Do not be duped by the enemy into thinking there is no hope. In Christ Jesus, there is always hope.
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. ~ Hebrews 10:22-23

Once again, love your BFMD. Hope you’re saving it for a book!
Kay, you are beautiful on the inside and out! I look forward to your posts popping in my inbox. I love your style.
Hi Kay, I am enjoying your blog. I live in NE Ohio. At the beginning of August we visited SE Arizona. We had a great time. A little hot though. We were looking for birds and got to see lots of humming birds! Arizona is so pretty but really different from NE Ohio.
Hi Kay! Your posts are SO VERY HELPFUL!!! The Shop My Makeup Bag was just what I needed. I watched your Facebook Live video for the first time, and will plan to watch the videos whenever one goes up from now on. You are such an encouragement – thank you!
