Hello gals, and happy weekend! I hope you are finally experiencing some fall temperatures, maybe even some turning and falling leaves. We don’t get to experience the colors of fall here in southern Arizona like some of you do, but we’ve had much cooler temps this week. And I’ve taken full advantage of it.
I got out and about a little more than normal this week, too. I got my hair trimmed, went to coffee with a couple of young friends, went into Tucson for an eye doctor appointment, took some returns to the stores and got out for my normal grocery shopping and Target run, too. That’s a lot of going for me! The rest of the time I was writing, blogging and working in my home.
Here’s how I really dressed for my day this week:
Sunday – Church
Our church is very casual. We don’t have a permanent building, so we’ve been meeting in an office building and are transitioning soon to an old school. Plus, we just like to keep our dress casual so that anyone can feel comfortable visiting. But there are no rules against dressing up a little either, of course. So I do dress up a little here and there.
This Sunday I chose to wear my steel grey jeggings (they’re really more like traditional skinny jeans than what I think of as jeggings), my silky geo dot pink wrap around top and my tweed block heel pumps. I added my gold layering necklace (I wear this necklace so much y’all. Great investment!) and carried my Michael Kors truffle satchel. This proved to be a very comfortable and easy-to-wear outfit, considering church for me includes helping to move chairs and tables, setting up displays and just a lot of time on my feet in general.
The cool front blew in Sunday, so I was comfortable all day in long sleeves and pants. Such a nice reprieve from the heat we’d been having. That evening for small group I wore my khaki weekenders, this plaid button up shirt from Target (so, so soft!) and my brown suede loafers (similar), which are several years old from Talbots. I’m telling you ladies, Talbots clothes are good investments. Oh, and they have everything on sale today 30% off.

Monday – Work from home
Be forewarned, this was also a no-makeup day! Honestly, makeup is so expensive that I do go without some days if I’m not going anywhere. Now, other days I go ahead and put it all on because I want to look pretty for my hubby, too. But, hey, he thinks I’m pretty without it, and he’d rather me save the money anyhow!
I enjoyed getting work done at home Monday while I wore my Zella joggers (similar) and this orange tee from Target. By the way, yes I wear orange. I love orange. But never on a game day. Go Dawgs! Too many rivals wear orange on game day. Just sayin’.
When I did get out to run to the post office and such I threw on my Zella zip up jacket (similar) and laced up my Teva sneakers.
Tuesday – Work from home and errands
Sorry about the blurry image. This is actually a photo from last week, but I wore this outfit again on Tuesday. It’s my steel grey jeggings, my apple novelty tee and my fig colored Tevas. And of course, when I got out I carried my truffle colored satchel…because it’s just so versatile. (I know this bag is available again, but not at the ridiculous low price I paid. Still, if you’re interested be sure to mark it as a favorite in the shopping widget and you’ll be notified if it goes down further. But really this may be about as low as it goes, since I bought it during their once a year anniversary sale.)

Wednesday – Hair appointment, lunch and coffee with friends
You may have seen this look in this previous blog post. Well, almost this look. I’ve changed a few things around. But I was thrilled Wednesday to actually be able to wear this ensemble. I just adore these colors together. And I actually kept the jacket on all day long, except while Marilyn was trimming my hair of course.
These are my merlot jeggings, elephant novelty tee from Target, green utility jacket (similar) and Sam Edelman leopard print flats (similar) I carried my Fossil crossbody that day.

Thursday – Trip into Tucson for appointment
It’s always anywhere from 5-12 degrees warmer in Tucson than it is where I live south of there (we live at a higher altitude), but it was still cool enough to wear this lightweight sweater from Loft with my cranberry jeans (they’re a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale find and long gone). I kept the look simple, but couldn’t resist wearing my leopard print flats again. I carried my Michael Kors satchel.
Well, Friday I just wore my Zella joggers and another Target t-shirt (see above), so that’s it for the week. I think the pieces I’m really enjoying the most are my jeggings from Talbots (remember Talbots is giving you 30% off your purchase today), my utility jacket, my leopard print shoes and my Michael Kors bag. So I’m providing one more shopping widget that has those items and similar selections. These are all pieces I’m finding to be very versatile and easy to wear or use. Oh, and I’m throwing in a couple of other things I’m wearing a lot, too, like that gold layering necklace and my leopard print belt. Happy shopping!

Blessed for My Day
Has God answered a prayer recently? Really think about that because sometimes I overlook the answers He has provided me. And even if I’m not aware of a direct answer to something I’ve been yearning for, begging for, I have to wonder how many times He has protected me or provided for me…and I didn’t even know it. Let’s be sure to take time and acknowledge this weekend that we do indeed have a God who hears.
I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me and heard my cry. ~ Psalm 40:1
Well I’m a cyclist so I couldn’t resist the super cute bicycle sweater and had to order it! Thanks for all the ideas and for keeping it real.
Great! Thanks for reading, Hope!
