Happy Friday, gals! Bring on the weekend! This has been a busy week. Of course, I actually have a good bit on the books for the weekend, too. But it’s all good! Speaking of busy days, today I thought I’d share with you how I really dressed for my days recently.
You gals seem to enjoy seeing how I really dress for my days. I get it. Anyone can style a dream outfit, but it’s sometimes more of a challenge to carry a little style into the humdrum of everyday living.
Plus, these are the clothes I’m really loving and actually living in these days. Like you, I’m waiting for the cool weather to get here. Meanwhile, I’m doing my best with transitional pieces. Let’s see how I dressed for my most recent days.
How I Really Dressed for My Day Shopping with a Friend
This luxuriously soft and classy looking luxe-spun t-shirt is marked down to just $15 now, and I think I’m going to order another one. I’ve been wearing this one at least a couple of times a week! In fact, you’ll see it again in this post with different jeans. I’m wearing a small.
speaking of jeans, I’m loving these raw hem straight fit ankle jeans from Banana Republic, too. And they’re now marked down as well. I’m wearing the 29, true to size.

I’m still enjoying my high waist cargo pants that I featured in this post and this post. These are the flax, but I also have them in ensign blue. These pants have a lot of stretch in them. I’m wearing my usual size 8.
Neither my black tee nor my belt are on sale, but I can highly recommend them. The tee kept its true black color even through a couple of washes. And I love the dark tones in this vegan hip belt.

I’m actually not sure which jeans these are. Ha! But I’m pretty sure they’re my AG split ankle jeans that I picked up in the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. In fact, they’re 33% off right now. I’m wearing my TTS 29.
I now have three pairs of these shoes. I’m wearing the nude here, but later you’ll see the black and the white croc. I love the way these flats fit and look. Chic and easy. But best of all I like the price. They’re 60% off right now.
The blouse is available for 40% off with code NEWNOW. And yes, I picked up this ruby red corduroy blazer to wear with it last week during a 50% off online flash sale. I think I’ll find plenty of things in my closet to pair with that fabulous blazer, in fact. Size down. I bought the 6.How I Really Dressed for My Day Shopping/Returning
How I Really Dressed for My Day Working from Home
Tired of waiting for fall, I was delighted that I didn’t have to crank the AC down with these textured slip pocket leggings. They are so comfortable and fairly lightweight. I’m wearing a medium.
The v-neck tank is from a summer Chico’s collaboration, but it’s still available. And you can get 30% off right now with code 85759. Plus there are other colors to choose from.
I purchased the hooded lightweight cardigan at Evereve, and it’s currently discounted. And, true to its name, this cardi is lightweight enough for me to wear right now.
How I Really Dressed for My Day Attending a Funeral
I know I sound like a broken record about these wonderstretch straight leg pants by Nick and Zoe, but they are absolutely the best. I reach for these classic, dark black pants any time I need to look pulled together and a little dressy. They’re pricey, but on constant replay in my wardrobe. You’ll see them again. I’m wearing an 8.
This essential shirt (show in this post) was one of the top sellers this week at Dressed for My Day. Maybe a lot of you, like me, are crushing on silky blouses for fall and winter. I think this vintage blush blouse is so versatile and chic. In fact…

I just kept the shirt on when I arrived home from the funeral and wore it with jeans rest of the day. It was comfortable and kept me feeling professional as I worked on churning out blog posts. Ha!
These jeans are fast becoming favorites. I like the little bit of distressing and rips, love the long length, appreciate the high rise and feel great in the regular fit. Wearing a size 29 in these. Take 40% off with code NEWNOW.
How I Really Dressed for My Day Attending a Funeral
Unfortunately, we had two funerals in our church this week. Both people were too young and will be greatly missed by many in our church. At any rate, I dressed up a little more than usual this week.
I wore these plaid ankle pants and an off white faux wrap blouse (option) to the second funeral. I’m especially enjoying thee suede bow pumps . They’re a lovely neutral shade and feature a small heel. The website says it’s a 2″ heel, but I really don’t think they’re that high.

Oops. I fibbed. I actually just forgot that I returned the black Mark Fisher shoes because I had already bought these black Cole Hahn shoes. But honestly, if I hadn’t already worn the Cole Hahns first, I would have returned them and kept the Mark Fishers, which are a much better price. All that to say, if you need shoes you can wear while on your feet all day, these Cole Hahns are some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. I wear my true size.
I’m so sorry the turquoise blue notch collar wrap front blouse is sold out in that color. It is available in a couple of other colors, but no longer at the lower price I paid. I’m hoping they’ll restock this blouse and lower the price again.
How I Dressed for My Day at the Art Museum
James and I have committed to exploring Cincinnati, further into Ohio and the surrounding areas on the second Friday of each month. Last Friday was hot so we wanted to do something inside. We picnicked in Cincinnati’s Eden Park and then enjoyed the Cincinnati Art Museum. This is what I wore.
I wish this t-shirt were on sale. Alas, it is not. Unless we got lucky and it went on sale overnight. You’ll have to check it out to see. I got lots of compliments on it. And I loved going wild and pairing it with this leopard print belt. Ha! I’m wearing a small in the t-shirt.
Well there you have it! That’s pretty much how I really dressed for my days. Just repeat all those outfits and you have my wardrobe for the past couple of weeks.

Blessed for My Day
I sometimes say the wrong thing. I don’t think I’ve uttered more than a few cuss words in my entire life. And I never tell foul or crude jokes. But there are plenty of other ways to say the wrong thing.
Exaggerations, innuendos, gossip, criticisms, whining, complaints, speculations and snide remarks. I’m guilty at times. It’s hard to keep our speech above reproach.
But today let’s remember why we need to only speak words that build, give grace and honor God. Our words are powerful. Just as God created the world with His words, we have the potential to tear down or build up with ours. Let’s remember the weight of our words today.
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. ~ Ephesians 4:29
It’s 50 here this morning, so I’m sitting on the front porch with a blanket over my lap. It’s not going to last, but I’m enjoying it while we have it. It’s my kind of weather! I am impressed with you wearing jewelry on the days that you stay at home. I can’t wait to see the various ways you style the gorgeous corduroy blazer. What a beautiful handbag you carried to the funerals. That style of handbag is my favorite and what I have more of. You and James taking a designated day each month to explore where you are living is a great idea. Staycations are so much fun! God bless!
I enjoyed today’s post. Do you rally always change your purse to coordinate with your outfit ? I am just too lazy. Lol
Thanks. I’m so glad you enjoyed the post. Yes! Lol! I actually do and pretty much always have changed out my bag. But I keep the contents pretty streamlined. In fact, if I don’t swap out frequently my bag gets heavier and heavier! Ha!
I love your posts; the outfits you design are cute and classy, and I look forward to the Biblical inspiration and wisdom daily! Thank you for sharing!
Some of your recent posts about forgiveness and apologizing have been instrumental in God healing my family this week! Praising Him!
That is such a blessing to hear, Rocsy. Thanks so much for your words of affirmation. See? Even the words you gals leave here in the comments have such power – to bless and encourage and build up. Thank you for being a faithful reader!! ?
Kay, I so enjoy your blog. Your style is very similar to mine so I enjoy seeing the outfits you put together. It gives me inspiration and I can shop in my closet to find similar looks! Thanks for all you do for us and for spreading God’s love! Blessing to you and James from Pennsylvania!
Thank you so much for your kind words, Cindy. That means so much to me. I appreciate you reading and leaving a comment. Have a wonderful weekend! We hope to venture over to Pennsylvania one of these days! ?
Hi Kay, I love this post. We are the same height and size, so I love seeing the clothes you actually wear. I have to wear business casual for work, so I find your posts really helpful in putting outfits together. I also love hearing what you and James are up to. Thank you for making us a part of your life, and sharing your heart for Christ with us. Blessings!
