Happy Saturday, gals! I hope you’re enjoying your weekend…whatever it holds. We’ll be grilling out a little and eating on the back patio if the wind doesn’t start blowing. And the tie dye dress I’m showing you today is just the kind of easy-going summer dress that works for alfresco dining. Plus, it’s a great way to wear tie dye this summer.
This simple blue and white tie dye shift dress goes on like a t-shirt, but it has enough feminine detailing to make it much more interesting than a typical t-shirt dress. I especially love the cap sleeves and the twisted waist front, which creates a feminine silhouette. I’m wearing a small, so I’d say it fits true to size.
Of course this tie dye dress is extremely comfortable, composed of 95% rayon and 5% spandex. And it’s machine washable. I think it would be great for packing to take on vacation, too. Wouldn’t this make a great dress to slip on for dinner out, especially at the beach?
The best news of all??? This simple shift dress is less than $20 when you use code 26GOSAVE. And it’s still available in most sizes.
Let me just warn you. You’re going to be seeing these gold sandals a lot, a lot, a lot this summer. I love metallic sandals for the summer, and these look so pretty with the v shaped vamp and the tiniest of heels.
Yeah, these gold sandals are a little pricey. But remember, if you’re a classic awards member, you can get one full-price item at Talbots for 40% off with code SUMMER. That gets them to less than $60. But if you’d like a less expensive alternative, you might want to check out these and these at JCPenney when you purchase the dress.
Tie Dye is definitely having a moment this spring and summer. You may find fun tie dye t-shirts galore, but why not wear this recurring trend in a pretty dress like this one instead? By the way, here’s an even more casual tie dye t-shirt dress to consider.
To accessorize my look, I added a colorful beaded necklace and bracelet, also from JCPenney. My earrings are the gold moon and star I wear often, along with my small gold hoops (similar).
Of course, if you’re going to be wearing this dress for outdoor dining, you may need a sun hat. I can’t find mine anywhere, so it must have been left over at the store from last year. This one from the same brand looks like a winner to me, and it’s available in several colors.
Hey, if you’re going to wear tie dye this summer, go all out. Choose a pretty dress like this one. Then wear it with a little added color and some metallic sandals. You’ll fee confident and oh so chic.
If you’re hunting for bargains this weekend, be sure to check back on yesterday’s Memorial Day Weekend Sales…as Seen on DFMD post. I’ve added even more sales for you to check out at the bottom of the post.

Blessed for My Day
When hard times press in on us, it is easy to lose perspective. Oh sure, we try at first to see things clearly, to not lose heart, to keep the faith and persevere. But when those struggles persist and we grow weary, it becomes a hard battle to stay positive and press on.
If you’re in the middle of a hard season, I encourage you to pause each day – maybe multiple times each day – to simply give God thanks. Gratitude to God does amazing things. It restores our joy and eats away at our fears. Gratitude stabilizes us and lifts our gaze. Expressed appreciation gives us hope and reminds us that God is trustworthy. Ultimately, gratitude restores our courage and strengthens us for the battles ahead.
I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the peoples,
And I will sing praises to You among the nations.
For Your lovingkindness is great above the heavens,
And Your truth reaches to the skies.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens,
And Your glory above all the earth.
That Your beloved may be delivered,
Save with Your right hand, and answer me! ~ Psalm 108:3-6

Thanks for showing a cute casual dress that is certainly affordable. not all of us have big budgets for clothing especially in retirement. I look forward to all of your posts.
Great!! Glad you enjoyed the post, Barbara. I totally get the budget thing!! I’m always glad to be able to share economical choices. ?
What a cute dress! I just ordered one for myself. It will be perfect for summer. I also ordered that adorable pink Michael Kors camera bag you’ve been carrying lately.
Great!! Yes, now is definitely the time to shop Michael Kors with the extra 25% off. Enjoy!
Kay, I really like this dress and how you look wearing it. And the necklace adds that special touch! Thank you for sharing a very affordable outfit with us. As a retiree, I am at the point in life where buying investment items just doesn’t make sense, but I still want to be current with my attire. Fabulous BFMD! Here in south central Georgia we are dealing with oppressive heat, lows in the 70’s and triple digit highs. Larry’s cancer doctor advised that he stay in, and since the pseudomonas in my sinuses has flared back up with a vengeance, I also need to stay in, so we will be having a low key weekend. ????
Well definitely stay cool, Ginger. It’s so interesting how the weather varies isn’t it? Here in southern Arizona we’ve been enjoying such a cool week. I’m glad you enjoyed the post. ?
Love the dress! So cute!! Would you share your breakfast burrito recipe? Sounds delish!!
Yes!! How about I share it in a post this week?? ?
Dress looks cute, cool, and comfortable – the 3 C’s I require from summer clothes. Looking forward to your post on the breakfast burritos!
Hahaha!! Well I’ll definitely get that in there this week then!
Love this dress …and the necklace with the mixed colors really sets the dress off. Oh yum…I will watch for your burrito recipe also.
