Happy Friday! In honor of surviving multiple tech issues here at Dressed for My Day this week, I’m throwing on my red corduroy blazer and getting outta town! No, really James and I are joining couples from our church on a retreat in Indiana this weekend. But, sure enough, if you see me I’ll be sporting this blazing red jacket.
When I first saw this red corduroy blazer on the Loft website, I drooled a little. Hahaha! But I was still surprised at how well this long jacket fits and feels. I did end up sizing down to a 6, by the way, and the fit is still generous.
You can bet I’ll be styling this red corduroy blazer multiple ways in the months to come. It’s so versatile, really! But I thought I’d start with the basics. Plus, you really can’t beat how contemporary and youthful the blazer looks with my favorite white t-shirt and these slightly distressed jeans.
Both the red blazer and these comfy skinny jeans (TTS) are marked down right now. PLUS Loft is offering an additional 40% off with code FALLFEST just through Saturday. But if you’re interested in this corduroy blazer, I wouldn’t wait long. I fully expect it to disappear during this sale.
Keeping the look pared down and chic, I reached for my current go-to jewelry: my gold hoop earrings, moon & star studs, adjustable olive necklace and classic gold bangle.
Because I kept everything else in this outfit simple, I was able to slip into my western inspired tan and black snakeskin booties. These oh-so-comfy booties are also marked down, but few sizes are available. However, I can also highly recommend the suede version of these booties. I bought them in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and had the hardest time returning them. They’re available in cognac and taupe and are just as sharp as my snakeskin version, and probably even more versatile.
I can’t tell you how much I’m enjoying my Tory Burch leather hobo. The leather is so supple and rich, and I love the unlined interior and the simple lines of this bag. Of course, I better enjoy it for the pretty penny I paid. I did buy mine when it was marked down considerably, however. Right now this Tory Burch tote is marked down a little. But if you like the vibe of my hobo, you also might want to consider this more economical option.
Because it works for my body type, I did add a black leather belt and tucked my shirt in the front.
Maybe you’re tired of seeing me in jeans and t-shirts. But honestly, we’re living in a time when one of the easiest ways to look chic and contemporary is simply to top this easy one-two punch with a trending topper. Have you tried it? I’d love to hear your take on this easy style.
Don’t forget, so much of this outfit is marked down. And Loft is even offering additional reductions with code FALLFEST, but just through Saturday. Let me know if you have any questions about fit.

Blessed for My Day
Is your soul a little restless today? Maybe a dear family member is struggling and you don’t know how to help. Or maybe a health concern has you feeling anxious about the coming days. Maybe finances are a little iffy or a relationship has hit rough waters. When something is off in our lives, our souls can feel stirred up, restless.
Let’s remember that even in the midst of our uncertainty, God is steadfast and sure. He is working. He can be trusted. Let’s resist the inclination to fix things ourselves, to solve our dilemmas with speedy solutions or hasty words. Let’s give Him time to work. We can take heart in the fact that while He is working we are doing exactly what we are supposed to be doing: waiting with full confidence that He will answer.
For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. ~ Psalm 62:1
I have a red blazer that I absolutely love, but still too hot here! Thankfully we are down to the 80s this week. I ordered the BR t shirt in grey. I love it, so I ordered the white one today! Enjoy your weekend!
Oh, I’m so glad you liked the t-shirt. Isn’t it nice? It feels so much more polished than others I’ve tried. But it’s still basic and casual. Win! Have a great weekend!
What a great outfit Kay! That’s a great color blazer for UGA fans, Christmas, and Valentines Day. Oh, I finally found an economical pretty plaid blazer online at JCPENNEY, that I ordered. I can’t wait for it to arrive, and am hoping it fits. Since I, not sure if I will like it, I did not want to make an investment in it. Our mornings here are fall like with lows any where from the upper 40’s to the 50’s, our highs are still in the upper 80’s to low 90’s, which is well above average. We hope that by the end of next week the highs will be in the 70’s. Have a great weekend getting to know more couples in your church!
Thanks so much, Ginger. I hope you enjoy your blazer, too. Have a lovely weekend!
This outfit is perfect! You look beautiful in red. I have a corduroy blazer from several years back but it’s in a medium green that honestly, I don’t wear very often. I wish it were red but you’ve given me inspiration to start wearing again this Fall. Love it with the tee shirt, jeans and booties!!
Yes, try it with a tee and booties. Even a cute graphic tee would be good, too.
You nailed it! I love the look of this outfit. I need to get some blazers in my wardrobe. Mine were all outdated and I left them behind when w moved a few years ago. And somehow you said just the perfect thing in you Blessed For My Day! How did you know I needed to hear this? I screen shot it so I can read it again and again. Thank you
Ahh, I’m so glad to hear that those words spoke to you. Yes, try a new blazer. I think they’re making them more comfortable these days. And they’re just as easy to throw on as a cardigan.
So glad to see you styling this red blazer. Looking forward to seeing other outfits with it. Like the others, I have one from years ago that I kept but stopped wearing because I wasn’t sure it was “in” anymore and couldn’t think of a modern way to style it. It is so well tailored and a perfect fit. I can’t wait to wear it again.
Great! That will be fun. I actually had a red velveteen blazer in my closet, too, from past seasons. But when I tried it on I realized it was just too big. So that gave me the freedom to purchase this one. Ha! But I hope yours fits and still looks marvelous on you. I’m sure it will!
Red is a basic color for my wardrobe of white, grey, black and navy as in dark wash. I think I would love this jacket. I can just see it with white beans and ehite Tee too with leather boots and bag. You look beautiful. Do you wear white jeans in winter?
Hi Eve. I have worn white jeans in the winter and I will probably style at least one outfit with white jeans here on the blog this winter. But honestly, I’m just done with white jeans until next spring. So while I’ll style them, I probably won’t WEAR them. I decided just recently that even though I can, I won’t. Ha! I kinda like saving my white jeans and pants and skirts for the spring. That way they feel fresh and different to me. So I absolutely love white jeans on other gals in the winter. But I won’t be participating in that trend. Thanks so much for asking! Have a lovely weekend!
