Hopefully as you read this I’m enjoying the mixed blues of the Pacific Northwest coastline. I’ll be posting about my stay in Cannon Beach and Portland, Oregon, in coming days, but today I’ve scheduled ahead and I’m sharing a casual outfit that I’ve taken with me on my vacation. When I bought this outfit, I had my stay on the Pacific coast in mind. See if these crop pants and slub tee make you think of the ocean and the blue sky above.

Cool. That’s what these colors are. I was drawn to them immediately. I love combining colors that are close together on the color wheel. And I kind of have a thing for pale turquoise and royal blues. Mixed blues. I like that.

Not only is this the kind of outfit I like to picture myself wearing in Cannon Beach on the Pacific coast, but I also have already enjoyed wearing this duo out to lunch with a friend, running errands in town and into Tucson with James. It’s just one of those perfect summer outfits that you can wear most anywhere.

I kept my accessories simple with touches of sterling silver at my ears, around my neck and on my wrist. I was tempted to wear a little turquoise in my jewelry, too, but decided to let the mixed blues in the top and pants provide the only color instead. The simple accessories are just that…accessories.

I’ve gotten so much wear out of my gold sandals, and I love them. But I really wished I had some silver sandals to wear, too, because I have so much silver jewelry that I wear. So recently I ordered these silver sandals from Talbots and expect them to be waiting for me when I get home from my trip. Of course, I’m really enjoying my straw bag that I received from Talbots as a prize in a promotional contest they had earlier in the summer.

All the links to the items I’m wearing are in the caption above. But I’m also supplying you with a shopping widget that has these items plus some similar alternatives. I realize, for instance, that the top is no longer available in this color except in petite sizes. But there are several others to choose from in the widget below.

Don’t forget that today is the last day for Early Access shopping at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for cardholders. This is supposed to be one of the busiest days of the sale. If you are a cardholder, today is the day to make those final purchases. You might want to check out my favorites from the sale here.

I’ve included affiliate links in this post. When you shop through them I earn a little commission at no cost to you. I really appreciate you supporting me and the work I do here at Dressed for My Day by reading, commenting, shopping, sharing and subscribing. If you’re not a subscriber yet let’s take care of that right here. Thanks so much for spending time with me today. Have a great weekend, ladies!

Blessed for My Day

Today may you be blessed with peace. You may well be in a storm, but peace is still available even in the midst of the turbulence. It will be a battle, but if you keep your focus on the Lord – His character, His ways, His promises, His presence – then He has promised to provide you with unmatched peace. So may you diligently choose not to dwell on that which you cannot change or understand or predict, but instead upon the God who knows, who is at work and who is faithful. And may you experience a peace that surpasses understanding.

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. ~ Isaiah 26:3

xoxo, Kay

  1. Thank you for this Blessed for my Day! I needed these words… a bit of turbulence this week in our life. Promises to dwell on!?.

  2. Blessed For My Day is exactly what I needed to be reminded of today! I need to keep my focus on God and who He is and not on the circumstances I can not change! So thank you, thank you! May God bless your time on the beautiful Oregon coast! Those are beautiful colors on you!
