Welcome to Dressed for My Day. Each month I like to share my favorite beauty products, fashion pieces and other items that I’ve been using a lot during that month. These are my true faves – either new purchases or trusted standbys that have served me well that month and brought me joy. The month of February is a short one, so my list is a little shorter this month, too. But I hope you enjoy checking out my February favorites.
Seam Detail High Low Sweater
I know this photo doesn’t look like much, but this lightweight, soft, high/low hem sweater has become a quick favorite. I received it in my last Trunk Club trunk, and immediately fell in love. I wore it to church this past Sunday with my favorite skinny jeans and felt awesome. I’m also styling it in an upcoming post.
This sweater is a great transitional piece and available in 9 amazing shades. I’m wearing the small, so if you wear two sizes, go with your lower size.
Small Bucket Bag
I treated myself to this Michael Kors small bucket bag in indigo for my birthday. I’d never had a bucket bag before, but I’m loving the simplicity of this one. I chose navy because I’ve recently decided to go with black and navy as my wardrobe neutrals, and I didn’t have a navy bag. This one is fun, current, but also classic.
They only have one of these left, but you might also want to check out the larger size bucket bags. I’m considering purchasing the soft pink.
You can see how I used this bag in this post. And you can bet you’ll be seeing more of it.
Lancome Definicils Mascara
The Lancome Definicils High Definition Mascara has long been a favorite of mine. But I had switched to other brands in the past year because I’d heard high recommendations on them. However, I’m back to my old favorite, as I explained in this post about my eye makeup routine.
This mascara truly lengthens and defines my lashes. It doesn’t leave them gloopy or crumbly like so many other mascaras do. I feel like my lashes look more natural with this mascara, even if I apply three coats.
Superga Sneakers
I really bought these Superga Sneakers for the spring, but I’ve already worn them so much. I’d forgotten how much I enjoy having a pair of white sneakers to slip on. You can see how I wore them here with a green boilersuit and how I wore them here with some navy yoga pants. But my favorite way to wear them is with jeans and a top. Easy peasy!
You’ll be seeing more of these white sneakers. Oh, and they come in other shades, too.
Floral Silk Scarf
I disappointed that this beautiful Kate Spade silk scarf is already sold out. However, there are several other similar ones available. I’m loving wearing this scarf with my chambray shirt already, but I know I’ll wear it many ways. You can tie a silk scarf like this around your neck, drape it under the collar of your denim jacket or trench coat or tie it onto the handle of your handbag.
A colorful silk scarf is such a great way to add a splash of color to an outfit as you transition into spring. You cold check out this one, this one, or this one. Or you could see the whole collection at Nordstrom here.
Straight-Leg Yoga Pant
I am surprised how much I’ve enjoyed these straight leg yoga pants. They look much more polished in real life than they do in this photo. When I played golf with my parents in Florida, I wore them as I styled them in this post. They’re also available in black and heather grey. I’m wearing a medium.
Neutrogena Body Wash
This story is similar to my story about the mascara. I’ve used this Neutrogena Rainbath Body Wash in this original scent forever. However, in an effort to economize, I switched to several other body washes this past year. Then I realized I was running through those soaps so much faster because more product was needed to achieve the same lather I’d gotten with my favorite Rainbath. And I wasn’t liking the scent or the effects of those other products either.
So I’m back to my Neutrogena Rainbath for good. I love the fresh scent, and I can use just one pump of this golden liquid soap to create a rich lather. One 16 oz. bottle lasts me close to three months. But I really prefer to buy the 32 oz. bottle. You can order either at the link I’ve provided.
What about you? Do you use or wear any of these products? What’s on your favorites list for February? Did you try or buy anything that especially surprised you? Maybe you purchased one of the skincare or beauty items I mentioned in my Beauty Week posts? Several readers have mentioned that they’ve already seen amazing improvement in their skin with this CeraVe salacylic acid cream and the Advanced Clinicals Retinal cream I suggested. I’d love to hear from you today!
This next week I’m joining up with Susanne of Thompson Hill blog to share our spring style series, Styling Spring. I hope you’ll be sure to subscribe or check back in for that fun series!
Blessed for My Day
Are you intimidated by the Proverbs 31 woman? Don’t be. Did you realize the description of this amazing woman is really a celebration of godly women, not a checklist of how we are to behave or live? In fact, the original Hebrew words used for “an excellent wife” are really better translated “a mighty woman of valor.”
This Hebrew blessing is read over women in celebration of the woman who simply chooses to fear and submit to God, seeking to valiantly fight the enemy for the welfare of her family, her husband and others who depend on her. We don’t have to do everything the Proverbs 31 woman is said to have done. We simply need to courageously show up and follow the Lord with a heart that is passionate for Him and those we love.
An excellent wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels. ~ Proverbs 31:10
I’m already enjoying wearing the white leather Keds I bought about one month ago, and know I will get a lot of wear out of them. The Kate Spade silk scarf is gorgeous! I’m looking forward to the spring series this week. Have a blessed day!
I do love Keds! I’m still considering getting some leather sneakers, too. We’ll see how I do at keeping these canvas ones clean.
Love your favorites for February! Those yoga pants are amazing looking……love!
One of my favorites this winter has been my Lancome crème makeup.I forgot the full name of it but it is very good for dry skin in the winter months and last forever. I put on my Revisions tinted moisturizer (which you can wear my itself or under makeup) and just dab alittle on & my makeup stays on . My face peels too in the winter because of being on the strongest medical grade Retinol crème so this foundation really helps put moisture back in my skin. I wish I could do bath products like you but my skin breaks out from most stuff other than Ivory or Dove….geez! Have a fun weekend!
