Happy Monday! And welcome to Dressed for My Day! I’m so glad you dropped in. Can you believe it’s December? In fact, it’s Cyber Monday, supposedly the hottest online shopping day of the year. Hopefully many of the items I’m featuring in today’s post are deeply discounted. In fact, I know most of them are. I’m sharing my November Favorites today. These are mostly recent purchases that I’ve been wearing or using and loving this past month.
Many of these items in this month’s favorites list haven’t even made it to the blog yet. But they’re truly the items I’m reaching for over and over.
Since moving to Ohio in August, I’ve been stocking my wardrobe for the winter. And ladies, it’s here! I don’t think I quite understood that the days would be so cold…as in all day, every day. In Arizona, I was used to waking up to cold temperatures in the morning and bearing with the cold at night. But during the day, the sun would shine and warm our home up nicely. Brrrr. That’s not happening here. And I understand that this isn’t even as cold as it’s going to get. Ha!
So many, but not all, of my November favorites are on my list because they’re keeping me warm. I’m learning to layer and I’m wearing heavier pieces, too.
Well, without further ado, let’s check out my November favorites.
Cole Haan Hooded Down & Feather Jacket // I ordered half a dozen down filled parkas from Nordstrom in order to try them on. This Cole Haan coat in cashew was the clear winner. I love the cinched waist for a feminine silhouette, but also because it feels warmer tucked close to me like that. This coat just feels yummy and soft, but also has kept me warm.
I followed the advice I read in the product reviews and ordered up to a size large. So it’s pretty roomy on me, but I can wear multiple layers underneath that way. This beautiful but warm coat is available in TEN COLORS. I’d really like to order the black, too. But I figure I’ll wait and get one next year.
Right now this coat is marked down 50%. That’s even less than I paid for it. Gosh, maybe I should order the black one…or the graphite…or navy…or ice blue! But I better hurry. I bet the price goes up after today’s Cyber Monday Sale.
Cashmere Turtleneck Sweater by Halogen in Camel // I love to pick up a new cashmere sweater each year. And this year I decided to get a classic camel turtleneck. I like the relaxed drape of this one, as well as the small side vents at the hemline. I followed the advice of the product reviews again and went with the small because it runs a little large.
I chose this particular cashmere turtleneck sweater because I like the neutral tone of this camel. It’s neither too warm nor too cool for my complexion. I also appreciate the light weight, the loose but not too loose neck and the long sleeves. The price, though not reduced, is pretty sweet, too.
By the way, Halogen crewneck cashmere sweaters are marked down 33%, but the camel is only available in a large. But there are many other beautiful colors and stripes available to choose from.
Kate Spade That Sparkle Stud Earrings in black // I originally ordered these simple but elegant black stud earrings to go with an cocktail dress I hoped to share in a holiday post here on the blog. But after I’d ordered the dress, I received a notice that the order had been cancelled because they ran out. In the end, I decided the keep the earrings because they’re so versatile and classic.
The earrings are available in several other faux gemstones as well. In fact, Nordstrom is out of my black studs, but still had the faux diamond and ruby earrings as I wrote this post. But Kate Spade has the jet black like mine, as well as pink. AND they’ve been reduced in price this week. We’ll see if they still are reduced for Cyber Monday.
Black Suede Bow Pumps // I think I’ve mentioned here several times that I just couldn’t locate my black suede pumps after we moved into our new home. I’ve looked and looked for them to no avail. I’m sure they’ll eventually show up, but I needed some for my posts so I relented and purchased these sweet suede bow pumps for 50% off.
I’ve owned several pairs of Ann Taylor pumps now, and they never disappoint. The description say this pump features a 3″ heel, but it doesn’t seem that high to me. It’s available in navy and dark mauve rose, too. And these classic pumps are 50% off today with free shipping. Use code CYBER.
Ribbed Crewneck T-Shirt in Black // I picked up this stretchy, slim fit 92% rayon, 8% spandex t-shirt when it was 50% off. And I got it just in time! I’ve been wearing this lightweight t-shirt almost non-stop as an under layer. I wear it under sweatshirts, sweaters, button-up shirts, you-name-it. In fact, I just ordered a white one. It’s available for 50% off for Cyber Monday and you’ll get FREE SHIPPING with code BRSHIP. The t-shirt also comes in dark fuchsia, glen green and camel. But I think the white and black are a necessity.
I got the medium just because I didn’t want it to be tight at all. I probably could have gone with the small in the black, but I definitely feel better ordering the white in the medium.
Black Puffer Vest with Faux Fur Collar // I had wanted this vest last year, but didn’t get it. I’m so glad I went through with the purchase this year. I reach for this chic black vest over and over. It goes with so many of my favorite outfits in the black, but the color and the faux collar also elevate my more casual outfits. Right now Talbots is offering 40% off your entire purchase and 50% off one item (your most expensive item) for Cyber Monday. You’ll also get FREE SHIPPING with no minimum.
I have this vest in a small. It’s also available in a beautiful ivory, as well as red, blue and pink.
Diamond Fair Isle Sweater // I’m wearing this diamond Fair Isle sweater as I write this post. I tend to stick with solid color sweaters, so this print is a departure for me. But I’ve noticed that Fair Isle sweaters are classics and you can wear them year after year. So this pretty cream sweater with red, black and camel print is a safe bet. I can wear it with a black, red, cream or even camel turtlneck underneath.
I have the sweater in a medium because I wanted to be sure to be able to wear a shirt underneath. Remember, Talbots is offering 40% off your entire purchase and 50% off one item (your most expensive item) for Cyber Monday. You’ll also get FREE SHIPPING with no minimum.
Athleta Rainier Reflective Tight In Powerlift // You may remember these workout tights from this post where I reviewed Athleta workout clothing for the first time. I had never tried Athleta before, but I was smitten. I brought these reflective tights home with me and I’ve worn them for every workout since then. No joke. So I finally ordered another pair since they were discounted 20% for Black Friday. Fingers crossed that they’re still discounted for Cyber Monday!
These tights feel so amazing on. They’re snug, but not binding. Just pleasant. And I love the reflective feature on these for morning and evening outdoor runs/walks. They’re high waisted and plenty long for my 5’8″ frame, too. I have them in a medium.
Wingspan Board Game // Ok, so this is a complete departure from fashions. Ha! But I included this Wingspan board game in my Christmas Gift Guide for Young Men on the recommendation of my son Daniel. He brought it with him when he and my daughter-in-law visited for Thanksgiving and we played it several times.
I love this game. I won’t lie; it took a little brain power to learn to play it. And I had the advantage of learning from someone who already knew how to play. But once we got going, it was so much fun. And it’s just a beautifully made game. The pieces are all high quality, beautiful colors and just sweet. And you learn about hundreds and hundreds of birds as you play the game. Lovely. So if you’re looking for a fun family game, Wingspan gets my vote.
So there you have it! Those are the things I’ve just been loving in November. If you have any questions about anything I’ve shared here, please let me know in the comments.
Don’t forget to check out my Black Friday & Cyber Monday Shopping Headquarters for all of today’s hottest sales! I’ll be updating it ASAP this morning. Let’s hope some of these items are still discounted. In fact, I know some of them are.

Who do you follow? We all follow people these days. In fact, that’s nothing new. Forever people have been attaching themselves to those who seem to have it all together, to those who have some charisma or influence. And there’s nothing wrong with following other people…as long as we choose wisely.
Today let’s consider who we follow and why. Whether we follow them on television, on the radio, in a print column, on a blog, on social media, through their books or podcasts, or in person, let’s carefully analyze why we listen to and watch those we’ve chosen to follow. Bottom line? Whoever we follow, let’s make sure they’re following the One true God. Let’s make sure they lead well. And let’s make sure we know where they’re taking us.
They all paid attention to him, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the power of God that is called Great.” And they paid attention to him because for a long time he had amazed them with his magic. ~ Acts 8:10-11
Kay, your puffer coat is beautiful! The cold up there is so different in the south, isn’t it! Christmas lights in the snow is breathtaking. Have a wonderful day!
Hi Ginger. Yes, it’s definitely different. And I love this coat. It’s a lifesaver! Ha!!
Loving all your picks! I really want to get a black puffer coat but with all the presents I’ve been getting for everyone, the coat needs to wait as I don’t really need one. But it’s such a great deal!
Thanks for sharing, hope you’re having a wonderful month of December as well!
Thanks so much, Ellibelle! It’s a great coat, for sure!
