Hello and welcome to Dressed for My Day. For the past few months I’ve been issuing monthly challenges that give my readers a little impetus to “kick it into gear” in the areas of style, beauty, fitness and inner beauty. I invite you to let the November challenge inspire you in these areas these month as you use it in the way that best suits your life. You make this work for you. Let’s check out the November challenge theme and see how I’ve broken it down into the four components.

Introducing the November Challenge

November is for Nesting!

I guess I figure if we’re stuck at home, we might as well make the most of it. Of course, we’ve been “at home” for months now. But maybe that’s all the more reason to “Carry On!” with a refreshed focus and attitude of gratitude as we hunker down for the winter. I know I for one could certainly use a little encouragement in this area.

Also, as most of us won’t be having as many people into our homes this year as we perhaps have had in the past, we might be tempted to just let things slide. Maybe we’re considering not decorating for Christmas. Maybe we’ve gotten used to setting a sloppy table at dinner. Maybe we’re just making do in other areas where we’d normally put in a little more effort.

But I think that’s all the more reason to turn our energies toward making our own dwelling places both comfortable and functional, but also beautiful, joyful and peaceful. That’s why the November challenge is to nest well.

Rather than repeat myself here, I’ll just let you watch the video. You’ll get a giggle at what happens just as I’m wrapping things up.

How to Participate

How you participate in these challenges is really up to you. I create them simply to inspire you to be the very best version of yourself. So you do you! But I do find that I generally do better at personal challenges if I also line up some accountability.

So I invite you to join us in my Private Facebook Group if you’d like the ability to enjoy the challenges in the community of gracious, enjoyable and encouraging women from all over the world. I’m really amazed at this group. We have four hostesses who help moderate the group and keep it engaging. And those ladies do such a fantastic job with this group.

You absolutely must answer the few membership questions before we’ll let you into the group. That’s one of the ways we keep it safe. But if you’re on Facebook and want to join us, check it out here.

However, you can also participate and have a little accountability other ways:

  • Just email me occasionally and let me know how you’re fulfilling the challenge. You can email me through the contact form here or by replying to my daily emails. Subscribe to those here.
  • Share in the comments of any recent blog post and let us know how you’re doing in the challenge.
  • Do the challenge with a girlfriend or two. This is a good opportunity to tell them about my blog and/or YouTube channel.
  • Do the challenge on Instagram. When you share your polished at home looks or your beauty-full spaces or your at-home workouts or your family moments, just tag me (@dressed_4_my_day) and use one of the hashtags below plus the hashtag #novemberisfornesting

Well, I think that about covers it. Let me know if you have any questions. And I’ve for you to share if you’re taking on the challenge and how you plan to participate. Thanks so much for dropping in today. And happy November!

Don’t Miss a Post:

If you like what you’re seeing here at Dressed for My Day, I invite you to subscribe to my email list. You can receive an email each time I post (about 6 times weekly) or just on Saturdays. You choose! But you’ll also receive the password to open up all the subscriber freebies I offer.

Blessed for My Day

To be a Christian is to be a Christ follower. Do you follow Christ? We don’t get to determine for ourselves what that means. While I’ve left the November challenge open to interpretation, Jesus didn’t leave followship open to personal preferences. He said that to follow Him is to continue in His Word and to be changed by it.

How do we continue in Jesus’ Word? We read it, hear it, study it, memorize it and meditate on it. As we interact with the Word of God an amazing thing happens. Because the Word of God is alive and active and powerful, it transforms our thinking. The more we spend time interacting with God’s Word the more we become like Him. We see things in a new way, we treat people differently, we hold ourselves to a higher level of accountability and we value different things. How have you been transformed by God’s Word?

So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly My disciples…” ~ John 8:31

xoxo, Kay
