This weekend James and I are heading to Scottsdale, Arizona, for a bit of a get-away. I’ve been invited to meet up with some other Arizona style bloggers for brunch, and we also hope to get in some photo shoots and fun. While the utility jacket I’m sharing today might add a little too much warmth for a visit to one of the hotter Arizona cities, this outfit is my idea of the perfect spring weekend get-away look.
Yes, this look is a remix. If you’ve been around Dressed for My Day much this spring or fall, you’ve seen every item I’m showing in a previous look. But that’s something I’m actually committed to…sharing pieces in multiple looks. Because that’s how we live, right? Plus, I want you to see how versatile these pieces are.
I don’t think I’ve featured my utility jacket this spring, but you can see one of the fall looks I created with it in this post. And I loved this look, too.
My jacket is not available anymore, but this one, from the same brand, definitely fits the bill. And this one works well if you’re looking for a lower price point.
I can’t get enough of these pale pink skinny ankle jeans. They’re the perfect light pink, have just the right amount of stretch, feature a mid-rise and are constructed from a nice weight of denim for summer jeans – not too thick, not too thin. Ahhh.
Sizes are going fast in these jeans, and through the 28th they’re part of a buy one/get one 1/2 off sale. They’re available in multiple cuts and lengths, including a curvy fit. I’m wearing an 8 in the regular fit, so I’d say they fit TTS.
See a dressier look with these pink jeans here.
Every component of this look is a staple in my closet that works hard in other combinations as well. But perhaps the hardest working piece of clothing is my white v-neck tee. I’m loving this top! And I have half a dozen in other shades, too. It’s TTS.
While I’ve had this leopard print calf hair belt since fall, I think I’ve worn it more this spring. It seems the natural way to add a little texture, trending animal print and variety to colored denim. And the price is right on!
When I set out to buy a new pair of white leather sneakers for the season – because they’re trending big time!!! – I seriously considered some pricier options. But I’m so glad I stayed with these Keds Courty sneakers. They’re a decent price for leather sneakers, and right now you get $10 Kohl’s cash with your purchase of them.
The shoes are a little roomy, so I wear these great no-show socks under them. Because they have a low profile and silicone grip heels, they really do stay put and out of sight.
Not only do I love carrying this small rose studded camera bag, but it’s a perfect add-on bag for travelling. On a recent trip, I just stuck it inside my leather tote while travelling and then pulled it out to use when I got to my destination.
Because this is such a fresh modern look (and I wanted to keep it that way) I added my gold layering necklaces and some simple gold hoop earrings. I’m wearing the star necklace, the mini chloe strand and an adjustable choker (similar). You can find a bracelet similar to mine here.
After shooting three other outfits in Bisbee, Arizona, I finished up the photo shoot in this one. And I was so thankful to have these easy-going jeans, leather sneakers, t-shirt and comfy jacket on to wrap up the day. This is definitely the perfect spring get-away look!

Blessed for My Day
Does it ever seem to you that God is just ignoring you? Come on now. No Sunday school answers here! Yes, we all have moments of desperation when we wonder if God has forgotten us, overlooked us or even willfully ignored our pleas.
But I am always encouraged by Habakkuk 1:5, which reminds me that God is always at work, doing something, even when I cannot see evidence of it. Further, the verse explains that if God were to bend down to my level and explain what He was doing…I wouldn’t even be able to make heads or tails of it. He’s up to something much more than you or I can even imagine!
Today, let’s trust that He is good, that He hears our prayers and that He is doing something…amazing.
Look among the nations! Observe!
Be astonished! Wonder!
Because I am doing something in your days—
You would not believe if you were told. ~ Habakkuk 1:5
I’ve linked today’s post to Jo-Lynne Shane’s Fashion Friday Link-Up, so be sure to check out some of the other great fashions there.
Great casual yet stylish look for a day out! Hope to see you on my Fancy Friday linkup party! Have a great weekend!
Encouraged daily by your Blessed for My day posts. Like how you mix the pieces in your closet!
Kay, I really like this outfit! You and @Jo-Lynne Shane paired light green and pink together in your posts today. I just need to remember to do the same thing!! You are so inspirational to me in so many ways, and I feel like we’ve been friends for years. Your BFMD is spot on. I hope that the brunch tomorrow turns out to be better than you could have ever imagined, and that you & James enjoy the mini getaway. Do you have someone to dog sit with your senior pup when y’all are away? I am looking forward to our trip to Vidalia today, especially since we’ve never been there before. Make it a blessed day!
Love the pink and green today! Have fun in Scottsdale. My husband and I visit every year in September and are looking to retire there in a few years. So many fun things to do there and the shopping is great.
