Welcome to Dressed for My Day! I’m so glad you dropped in today. After a colder than usual winter, we are rocking spring here in southern Arizona! I hope at least the birds are singing a little more joyfully where you are today. I have a beautiful spring look to share with you – all pink and navy. Now that’s spring at it’s best!
If this outfit looks a little familiar it’s because it’s a re-mix. I shared the same jeans and navy and white striped top in a different spring look a few weeks ago. But part of my goal this year at Dressed for My Day is to share items more than once, showing you different ways to create beautiful looks with wardrobe essentials like my dark wash jeans and 3/4 length sleeve bateau-neck tee.
I was immediately drawn to this pastel pink blazer, but I struggled with how to wear it. I do love it with the dress I wore it with in this post. And I still plan to try it with white pants and jeans. But so far I think it looks most at home with navy. And that’s just fine with this gal! Still, you can bet you’ll be seeing this knit pique blazer again with other ensembles.
I’ve just discovered that this pink blazer kinda begs for some navy or black in the mix in order to keep all that pink from looking too cotton candy-ish. Does that make sense? By the way, I’m wearing the blazer in an 8, the smaller of my two sizes for blazers and jackets.
I’m wearing my favorite AG skinny jeans. They’re sold out of my exact pant everywhere except AG, but these at Nordstrom are comparable. They are pricier than I ever thought I’d pay for jeans, but I purchased mine when they were reduced for a price match. And I have no regrets. I’ve tried on other pricey jeans that didn’t impress me, but these feel absolutely amazing and I wear them a couple of times a week at least. I’m wearing the 30.
My navy loafers are so soft and comfortable. They come in several other pretty shades, and they fit true to size.
I’m really enjoying my navy bucket bag, but it is sold out. However, I just ordered and received this larger bucket bag in soft pink. Y’all!! It is yummy. I bought it during the Michael Kors Spring sale when everything was an additional 25% off. Did you miss the sale? You’re in luck! Today only you can take an additional 25% off sale items. You can check out all the sale handbags here, but the bucket bag I just purchased is part of that sale, too. Be sure to join the KorsVIP club for free shipping and free return shipping.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention my striped tee. This is an extremely versatile and functional piece. It features 3/4 length sleeves, has a slightly fitted silhouette and is soft and easy to wear. It’s also available in a couple of other color combos. I’m wearing a small, so it runs true to size. By the way, this classic tee is 30% off today.
I just love pink and navy for a fresh spring pairing. This is the kind of look I wear when going to lunch with a friend or even a day shopping. But it’s also appropriate for casual Friday work attire if jeans are permitted.
Did you enjoy today’s post? You might want to check out the other way I wore this same jeans and tee in this post if you’re fairly new here. And you can see how I wore this blazer over a pretty spring dress here.
Have a blessed and beautiful Thursday, gals!
Blessed for My Day
Have you ever felt under the gun? Maybe someone has misunderstood you and questioned your character or motives. Or maybe someone has spread gossip about you. Maybe you’ve felt like your reputation was at stake, but your hands seemed to be tied. And if you tried to defend yourself, you’d just come off looking desperate and guilty as charged.
This may not be what you want to hear, but “chill.” Relax. Put down your sword, step back from the situation and relinquish the right to be right. God has obliged Himself to be your defender. He has taken on the responsibility of protecting your reputation. So even if it seems that some now question your integrity, you just leave that to God Almighty. Be gracious, be godly, be holy. But run to the Rock and let Him defend you.
My salvation and glory depend on God, my strong rock. My refuge is in God. ~ Psalm 62:7
I have a pink blazer and a new way to wear it! Yay! I was wearing it with black pants or jeans and a white top.
You could also pair your striped top and jeans with a white denim jacket?
Love the BFMD. ❤️
Pink is one of what I’m calling my staple colors because I always receive compliments when I wear it close to my face. I can see you pairing the pink blazer with your camo pants. Of course, navy and pink look fabulous together. I love how the sun was shining on the side of your handbag in one of the pictures. Great shot by your husband!
Hi Ginger, Yes, I’ll have to try the pink blazer with camo. Great idea!
Pink and navy is such a great combo. Quick Question: I don’t seem able to pin any of these outfit pictures to my Pinterest files. Typically I wait and then find them on your Pinterest board and move them to mine. Just thought I’d ask if I’m missing seeing the P button.
Hi Betsy. Thanks so much for pinning the posts to your Pinterest board. There are “spread the love” buttons on each post right after the BFMD portion. I think there may be an advertisement right before them actually. They are just above a little section that has my photo and states the purpose of the blog. They show up on the computer, phone and handheld device. If you’re still not seeing them, please let me know so I can check things out. But there should be one for Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.
Great combination! You inspired me!
Very cute outfit, Kay! Love the color combo! I’m very tempted to get the pink blazer. I want some of those AG jeans but I am working on losing some weight and toning up so I think I’ll wait a while. I’m enjoying the photo shoot locations, too. ?
Great, Rachel. I’m glad to hear this post resonated with you. Best wishes with the weight loss and tone up goals! That’s great!
You look so great in this outfit Kay! I have new pale pink skinny jeans from Target and I am struggling to find the right top to wear with them. I can’t wait to try them with your navy stripped top. Thanks for the idea!
Hi Katie! Yes, I think navy looks great with pale pink. I also have a post coming up on April 10th where another style blogger and myself will be styling colored jeans. Try those pink jeans with a graphic tee and a blue denim jacket for a really chic casual look. 😉
