Happy hump day! And welcome to Dressed for My Day. Except today I’m sharing how recently I’m getting dressed for my night. Ha! Yes, it’s definitely time for some fresh, new spring pajamas. And these will keep you cool and comfy, but also feeling oh so pretty. PLUS, they’re 30% off right now with code 76845. Yay!

I love getting a new pair of pajamas. Since I wear them so frequently, I always feel like every season calls for a new pair. For several years now I’ve been wearing nothing but Soma Cool Nights ® pjs. This revolutionary fabric truly does keep me cool and comfortable throughout the night. I don’t generally have night sweats or hot flashes anymore, but when I did this sleepwear was a lifesaver.

During the spring and summer I’m partial to the crop pajama pants, especially for lounging around the house in the mornings or evenings. But each set of Soma sleepwear comes in several different pieces which are all sold separately. So you can put together your set the way you like.

I actually always purchase the button up top, the crop pants, the shorts and a sleep cami (if I don’t already have one that works with that set). That way I can switch pieces in and out depending on the temperature of the room.

Generally, I sleep in the shorts, but I put on the crop pants when I get up in the mornings. But the crop pants are definitely comfortable for sleeping, too. In fact, that’s what I’m wearing these days.

And if I change into my pjs to watch television or a movie in the family room in the evening, I usually start off in the crop pants and then change to the shorts for bed.. And depending on the coolness of the night, I either sleep in the sleep cami, the button up top or both.

In other words, you can mix and match everything. And I do!

I was drawn to this Sublime Floral Ivory pattern because it makes me think of cherry blossoms or maybe pink and ivory dogwoods. Just what I need for my spring pajamas! By the way, this pattern also comes in long pajama pants and a short sleeve sleep shirt, if you prefer those. But of course, Soma has other pretty patterns to choose from, too.

I also recently purchased a new Cool Nights® robe for spring and summer. I like this Whimsy Dot Ivory robe because it definitely works with these Sublime Floral Ivory pajamas, but it will coordinate with other patterns, too. Each morning I slip my reading glasses and phone into the pockets of my robe, so pockets are important to me. I also appreciate that the belt is attached in the back, so I won’t lose it!

But to be honest, it was a toss up between this Cool Nights® robe that I’m showing here and this solid black longer Cool Nights robe. Maybe it would have been more versatile. But I do like the length of the one I chose.

I purchased this black sleep cami a couple of years ago now and have worn it with several different sets of pajamas, in cool and warm seasons. But I have three or four of these. I just try to buy them in colors that will work with different color combinations. They’re great for layering under your pj top or wearing alone.

Sizes and Fit

While I frequently size down in other lingerie, I find that Soma runs true to your usual garment sizing. So I wear a medium in all of the pajama pieces I’ve shown here today. And my robe is a S/M. They all fit nicely with no binding. The fabric has a good bit of stretch in it and feels silky soft.

Blessed for My Day

At this point in this national health emergency I just want to know what’s next. I wonder when my daughter will be able to return to work, or if she’ll even have a job when this is all said and done. I wonder if retail business will pickup. I wonder if our economy will stabilize. I just wonder.

But when I catch myself going down that road, I have to pause, turn around and take another path instead. That path leads to anxiety and frustration. So I choose to praise God instead. I trust that He holds tomorrow and that He has planned good things. There may be unexpected twists and turns in the road ahead, but He will guide us along it and we will be okay.

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. ~ Matthew 6:33-34

  1. My favorite kind of pj’s. I have also switched some of my spring clothes last week. Left a few sweaters out just in case. We can still get the s word until mid April here. This year we really lucked out. Stay safe and healthy. Theresa

  2. Kay, you chose a beautiful pattern and look so nice in your pj’s! Way to go on getting your summer clothes out!! Your BFMD lines up with what I did last night when I couldn’t sleep – thanking God for all of my blessings and putting my trust in Him. Great minds think alike! 😉. You know, I’m glad that He has it all figured out, releasing me from that responsibility. I hope y’all do get to see some sun today! We had a very loud storm to roll through around 5:30 this morning. I heard the wind over a window air conditioner and a box fan. Maybe you and Abby will be able to go on a nice walk!

  3. I too recently purchased new pjs. Boy, I didn’t realize how much it would make me happy! It’s so nice to have something ‘new’ to wear to bed. When I saw yours, I thought it was the brand I just bought. It is not, but they look just alike. I bought pink and also a blue tiny stripe with tiny blue hearts on them. I got a sleep tee that goes with both. I like to sleep in the tee with pants, then put the button-up top on in the morning. Or throw the button-up top on if we are watching television at night.

  4. Love the PJs and the idea of the cool fabric so I just ordered some to try! How are they as far as being see-thru? We go to a friend’s lake house and hang out in the morning in PJs and I want to feel comfortable!
