Hello and welcome to Dressed for My Day, where my goal is to help women like you and me look and dress beautifully for whatever our individual day holds…so that we can influence those around us positively. To that end, today I actually have two posts for you. Yippee! Bonus day! Here I’m sharing a smart, but comfortable outfit for a casual winter day: a sweater and jeans with a little sparkle. But I hope you’ll also check out 3 New Years Resolutions I Actually Kept & How.
I think this sweater and jeans outfit looks smart and pretty, but the best thing about it is that the sweater is marked down significantly.
Here’s what I love about this ensemble. I love the shimmery gold and silver in the sweater…so you can wear either silver or gold accessories with it. I love the soft, feminine colors in the sweater. And I love my gold shoes. But they’re almost sold out.
Okay. Confession. I did bite the bullet and purchase a pair of AG jeans. And honestly, I do love them. But here’s what happened. I had to return a pair of boots that I had purchased from Nordstrom back in August because they hurt my lower leg pretty badly. I never even showed them here on the blog, but I had worn them. So I was so grateful that Nordstrom took those boots back with a full refund. However, because I returned them so late, I ended up with a credit on my Nordstrom card. So I used that credit to purchase these jeans when they went on sale. Of course, they’re no longer reduced in price, but if you’re interested in these jeans, “favorite them” in the widget below and you’ll be notified when they do go on sale again.
Anyhow, these jeans are very comfortable, and I love the length. I have the AG “the Farrah” high rise skinny jeans in paradox blue.
This sweater is/was available at Nordstrom, but there are more sizes available for a better price at Boden. The link in the widget below goes to Nordstrom, so if you want to check out the size selection at Boden shop here. My necklace is no longer available, but you could easily wear a similar gold or silver delicate necklace.

Blessed for My Day
May you be blessed with great fervor and a high level of commitment this year. Especially as you pursue your relationship with the Lord, may you be zealous and protective of your time, may you set your aim high and may you grow in maturity. But even as you reach for the other goals that He has helped you set, may you be firm with resolve, excited about the potential ahead and, yes, successful. And as the days go by and the challenge becomes more difficult or the results come more slowly than expected, may you have patience to endure. God bless you with whatever it takes to see the fruit of your godly pursuits.
And there was a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years and had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then as a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, serving night and day with fastings and prayers. At that very moment she came up and began giving thanks to God, and continued to speak of Him to all those who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem. ~ Luke 2:36-38
This is kinda my uniform most days, Kay!! I love sweaters, especially the ones I’ve knitted, and jeans are so comfy now that they have spandex in them!!
XOXO
