Woohoo! The weekend has arrived! That means I’m a little closer to getting to pull out this Sunday-afternoon-only outfit and wear it. Oh yes I do! I absolutely do restrict myself to wearing this comfy cozy loungewear set to Sunday afternoons only. And it’s not easy, let me tell ya!
On Sunday mornings we’ve returned to attending our church’s worship services on site – with lots of added safety and health protection protocol, of course. So I do get dressed in something nice, but usually fairly casual, to attend church in the mornings. But once I’m home and finished with lunch, I eagerly slip into these ultra soft knit blend Sunday shorts.
So yeah, that’s what Soma named these chic but easy drawstring shorts. And because I know that I work and function best when I really get dressed with a little more polish and structure most days, I do indeed limit myself to wearing my Sunday shorts on, well, Sundays. And what a treat!
I ordered the shorts in my true to size medium, although I really might could have worn a small. But who cares? I’m not going anywhere! On Sunday afternoons I generally work putter lie around the house.
And Soma doesn’t leave us hanging on what to pair with these comfy Sunday shorts. They also offer a cotton slub short sleeve tee that pairs easily with these Sunday shorts or any other loungewear. Or anything else at all really! I’m wearing a medium tee and I’m happy with the fit.
I’m also enjoying the French terry cocoon wrap. This soft heather grey French terry wrap is made from the same fabric as the shorts, so it’s soft and yummy but still lightweight enough for these warm months. It comes in s/m and l/xl. I have the s/m. Oh, and this yummy wrap is marked down 40%. I don’t think it will be around long.
I don’t mind telling you that I also change into a wireless bralette on Sunday afternoons, too. Shoot, this is the one piece of this loungewear that I actually wear during the week sometimes, too. It’s so soft and easy to wear. I love that it makes me feel supported (I’m pretty small!) and pulled together (ahem.), but doesn’t feel at all binding or constricting. I can easily take a nap in this bralette.
The Soma Enbliss bralette, along with other Soma bras, is currently buy one get one 50% off. By the way, I wear a medium. And Soma has some other good deals running right now, too.
While we’re talking Soma, let me remind you that they carry my favorite panties and sleepwear, too. I wear their Vanishing Panties, specifically the Microfiber With Lace High Leg Brief, and their Cool Nights pajamas. Of course, they carry Cool Nights gowns and robes, too. Oh, and those Vanishing Panties are part of Soma’s current Buy 3 Get 2 Free deal.
By the way, if you’re interested in the Sunday Shorts, but prefer full length pants, Soma has you covered, too. Check out their Sunday pants in black or in the same heather graphite as my shorts. I’ve heard great things about these, too.
But I think I’m going to order the Sunday wide leg pant and perhaps the Sunday wrap, both in a beautiful fig. Oh my! They also offer a terry long sleeve top in the heather graphite.
Bottom line? Soma’s got us covered for chic and comfy lounging on Sunday afternoons…or whatever day you want to lounge in style!

Blessed for My Day
Some days I have a harder time than others staying joyful and at peace. My husband tends to catch a bit of the day’s news before I do most mornings. And if our timing is out of sync, he’ll sometimes share that news with me before I’ve had my coffee or, more importantly, my quiet time with the Lord. That never goes well.
Fear and panic and frustration and confusion can mount up in me quicker than my coffee can clear my head. And some days I simply have to let James know that I’m not quite ready to hear all the hard things yet. I’ve learned that I must “exchange whispers with God before I share shouts with the world,” to use a phrase coined by Lysa TerKeurst. And that takes being intentional and consistent.
Dear friend, don’t ever rush to get here to this place before you’ve had at least a few minutes to whisper your prayers to the Lord and lean in to hear what He has to say to you, too. Let’s always choose first to set the Lord before us so that we can face whatever the day may bring with more grace and confidence.
I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. ~ Psalm 16:8
Thanks so much for your motivational messages and reminder of how to “exchange whispers with God before I share shouts with the world.” Love this. Have a great weekend.
I am enjoying your blog. I’m a new subscriber. Love your hair.
Thank you. And welcome. My hair is a new style for me. I wore it flat ironed straight for years. I’m still learning how to do it. 😉
I absolutely love the phrase you shared about “whispers with God” ❤️ and your Sunday outfit looks like the perfect comfy clothing needed for relaxation. I have some Lou & Grey pieces I have accumulated during sales that I use for this purpose that are buttery soft. May need to check out Soma for comparison. Have a great weekend!!
I like your Sunday afternoon outfit! I need to work on allowing myself to wear lounge wear on Sunday afternoons, especially since I know that we won’t have any visitors, & I can still be presentable. Love BFMD today! I have learned that I need to have my devotional time while drinking my first mug of coffee every morning, so that I am starting my day off the right way. Enjoy your Friday!
I hate to say but why only wear on Sunday? 😉
I love Soma, the embliss bra is a favorite!!
Love BFMD! Have a good weekend Kay!
This devotional today is one of my favorite verses! I claimed this verse daily during the last year of my job before I retired. We had gotten a new boss and he was not pleasant to work for. Many people left but I was too close to being able to retire with a pension to quit. God got me through until I met my anniversary date for retirement. I have always done my prayer time and Bible study in the mornings with my coffee. It does make a difference in how my day goes. Love your lounging outfit!
I love Soma ! You are so pretty. The new hair style is so cute on you.
Would you share how you style it ?
Thanks so much, Pam. That’s very kind of you. I’m still learning how to style it. This is a new style for me. But I’ll do my best to share something soon. Thanks so much.
Thank you for inspirational message. I enjoy your blog and love your hairstyle. I have natural curly hair and try to straighten it. I love the relaxed casual outfit.
Thanks so much for sharing! I appreciate your kind words. I’m still quite tempted to pull out the flat iron again. 😉
I have these black knit pants that are so comfy but alas, they have ripped across in little tears. I tell my husband they are the new distressed knit pants. LOL
Wearing my sports bras on Sunday now too. A flip flop would be a step up from house shoes I’m wearing right now.
Be blessed today, Kaye. We are children of the King!
Ahh, thanks so much Eve. You’re a hoot! 😉
Loved the devotional for today!
I think it was last Christmas that you recommended some runners socks and I have forgotten the name of the socks? I purchased them for my daughter in law and she loved them and I want to get more this year.
Thanks so much and blessings to you.
I think the socks were probably Feetures. Try here: https://shopstyle.it/l/blRQ7
Thanks for sharing all the great pieces from Soma! I’ve coincidentally been considering trying some items from Soma! I think I will definitely try some now! I love the idea of a Sunday outfit, for after church relaxing! Great idea:)
Wonderful. Glad to hear the post helped you out.
